Like for the east coast, it could be Rex, Lux, Mook, and maybe Hollow or Solomon or someone, but west coast's Rushmore could be Illmac, Saurus, Diz, and Danny/Daylyt/Dumbfoundead. Battle rap grew too separately for any one set of 4 people to be its forefathers
Diz & Danny would be a sick 2 on 2 match w just about anybody! I usually don’t like those battles too much, and can’t think of any “classic” or re-watchable ones if I’m being honest (if someone knows one, plz advise cuz I’m happy to watch) … that said, this is a DOPE concept for a podcast and I hope they keep it up! I love Danny Myers, he's my favorite battle rapper, I watched multiple of his battles dozens of times and I type "Danny Myers vs" into the youtube search bar once a week. But with all due respect, he's not the same in 2on2 battles. His 2on2 performances were all underwhelming compared to the bodies he's catching when rapping solo.

Damned near any other rapper would still have a stain on his jacket. Danny’s just one of them dudes who puts his all into it bcuz he loves hip hop, and battle rap so damned much. Wish he’d have had a manager, or someone to help him market himself from the beginning cuz he’d be doing a lot better financially and his name would ring out with the Lux’s and Mooks and other guys who figured out how to control the supply/demand for they’re names without having to battle much at all.
They did a great job booking the matchups, and you can tell when it’s battle rappers & curators doing the booking. They found the balance between getting bigger names, and making sure it’ll sell, and booking bouts that real fans are gonna want to see. That’s what’s been missing w the app/caffeine era imo … nothing but love for Smack n them, but sometimes things get so big & busy that you just booking whatever and it don’t have that same love & care in it. Then it shows during the battles. Either they rushed w no prep time, or they just there for the check and have no interest in their opponent etc … This GTX card is dope, and I’m looking forward to most these battles!
