  • DIVI Corporation is pleased to introduce a rubberwood sawmill.
We source our rubberwood from the rubber plantations of the Vietnam Rubber Group. After harvesting, the rubberwood is brought to our sawmill and processed into export products.
This video will briefly introduce the processes involved in transforming a rubber tree into high-quality export goods to countries around the world:
1/ Felling rubber trees from the plantation
Currently, we are harvesting 6,000 hectares of aged rubber, expecting to yield about 240,000 to 300,000 cubic meters of sawn wood and a significant amount of wood chips from the rubber trees in a rubber plantation in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam.
Typically, rubber trees aged between 25 to 30 years need to be cut down and replanted due to a significant decrease in latex production. This practice is a major source of industrial wood.
The rubber trees are felled in rows, then cut into segments ranging from 400 mm to 1 meter in length. They are classified into two main types: timber for the sawmill and wood chips used as fuel for boilers.
Rubber trees are cut about 1 meter in length if the trunk is straight. For large branches or curved sections, the workers will cut shorter pieces depending on the condition of the rubber tree.
Afterward, the rubberwood is classified and transported to the factory for further processing.
    2/ Rubberwood sawing process
The rubberwood is sawn to remove the outer bark at the sawing area.
After sawing, the wood is neatly arranged and moved to the area for defect removal, treatment of knots, black spots, eliminating low-quality wood… This is the selection and processing stage of the wood blanks. After processing, the blanks are sorted by specific standards such as length, thickness, and loaded onto specialized vehicles. Then, they are taken to the chemical treatment area.
The rubberwood planks are placed in a pressure impregnation tank mixed with various chemicals in appropriate ratios to prevent termites and increase the product's shelf life. The chemically treated blanks that cannot be immediately dried are sun-dried to wait for drying.
In the wood drying system, the wood is dried to a moisture content of 8% to 12% and is moisture checked before leaving the drying oven.
After the drying process, the wood undergoes an inspection to remove any defects or errors before being packed and stored.
    3/ Wood chipping process
The branch wood and twig wood (which cannot be sawn into timber) are processed into wood chips for fuel to supply boilers.
Excess wood from the sawing process and defective wood from the production process are also chipped to be used as fuel for the boilers in DIVI Corporation's steam sale projects.
This is the complete process at our rubberwood sawmill. With over 15 years of experience, we commit to providing you with the best quality product at a reasonable price.
