I loved this ending so much because it's almost like they broke the fourth wall a bit which made it even more touching because it's a proper goodbye to not just the characters but the actors who played them and the movies themselves:)
I really get emo seeing the actors tearing up because they clearly made huge memories working on these movies together for multiple years and were all high school aged or early 20s at the time. And none were known at all before they did these movies so must have been a once in a lifetime / life changing journey for them. It’s so sweet and heart wrenching to me. Happy for them though

It's four in the morning. I can't sleep. So I decided to watch the last movie. I'm not sure why this hit me so hard! I had tears in some parts, but when these six started walking toward the screen I started sobbing! High School Musical without a doubt was a gigantic part of my childhood. No matter how cheesy it sounds it'll always hold a place in my heart 💖 Who says we have to let it go?

The cast walks away from the scene and the curtains close behind them and each person gets their own close up as them saying goodbye to the fans and the franchise itself. i remember when i watched this part at the movie theater (with my sister, i didn't go to see high school musical alone, pfffff) (JK, but i really did go with my sister) and every time they showed one of their faced the audience (full of girls) cheered and when they showed Zac's face the entire audience screamed... i borke my ears that day...

I remember being in 3rd grade and my parents taking me and my sister to see this opening night in theaters because we were such big fans when it ended I started balling!!! One of the greatest endings to a franchise ever this is my favorite movie in the franchise so good!!

So these are not the characters anymore but rather the actors saluting goodbye to the public at the end of their "high school musical", because, with the third movie, the story has finally reached its end.
I didnt watch these movies when they came out, i was only 3 when the first one came out so it was a little before my time. Even so i would hear the name high school musical thrown about every now and then but i never really thought it was my thing. I had never liked musicals, only seeing a couple when i was very young and not loving them. Then while on a cruise a couple of years ago i saw the greatest showman, and i knew i recognised Zac Effron and my mum told me i had probably seen him from high school musical clips. I didnt think much of it until i remembered a vine i had seen where its the kid slapping the pool water and singing bet on it. I looked up the song only to realise it was from high school musical 2, which i thought was pretty neat and i liked the song. Still that didnt convince me to see it. Then i watched Hamilton when it came to disney + and that made me realise maybe i had been to quick to judge musicals in general as something i didnt like. Then my mum decided to watch high school musical 1 a couple of months back and from what i had seen i thought it was decent enough. So that brings me to the 16th of February 2021. Im now an 18 year old and high school is behind me and im going into the final stages of college (im in the UK by the way so college is different here). I have a week off so i decide to watch the first high school musical movie and i absolutely loved it. I watch the second one the next day and the final one the day after that. I just finished the final movie a couple of hours ago and this trilogy is one of the most heart warming and emotional trilogies ive ever seen. The reason ive written this long winded comment is to dispel one pf the criticism with this type of movie. Popole claim that people only like high school musical because they grew up with it. But take it from me, an 18 year old who had never seen these movies before this week, that is absolutely not true. These 3 movies are genuinely one of the best trilogies ive seen in a long time and will now always hold a special place in my heart. What team? WILDCATS!

I was a freshman when the first one came out. And a senior in high school myself when the final one came out. This definitely made my high school years. I was literally struggling with all the issues these fictional characters were going through. I felt a personal connection to each of the main six characters in their own way. Especially Ryan. So to see that final jump at the end of the film on opening night... I officially knew my childhood as well just had it's grand finale. I so hope for a High School Musical Reunion movie. If ever Zac and Vanessa could ever work together again.

i'll admit that when i saw it opening night, i cried my eyes out in the theater. i think i was one of the last few to leave, along with my best friend who saw it with me.
