I’ve never in all my time in sports been this devastated by a players departure.. it’s so unique
I’ve only been a Liverpool supporter for 9 years and I live in Texas……so many hundreds of miles away, and I feel the same way. I’ve never been this emotional about a player leaving, via trade or retirement, of any team/sport. Words cannot express how much Bobby will be missed.
There’s a few times it hurt saying goodbye to some players that you just understood because of the way they play and Bobby is a big blow he’s been the heartbeat at times.
I’m happy he gets the send off he well and truly deserved.

@@tofuteh2348 he didn’t leave for more football but I understand what you’re saying and it speaks volumes to Bobby’s impact and love the fan base had for him if the only other departure that hurt emotionally like this was Gerrard.
@@AstralStef there's also the fact that some players left when there wasnt an opportunity to have the farewell, like mane and when henderson suddenly left.
The last time I cried when a Liverpool play left I was 9 years old and that player was Kevin Keegan I'm now in my 50s and I'm crying again for Bobby the man will always be a legend to us all ....YNWA Bobby you will be missed

Yeah ... that hurts and made zero sense bcoz where he went after LFC ... then to return and played for Southampton, even worse in the mid 80s, he played for Malaysia B football team.

This is just as good if not better than having a statue placed outside the ground. The artwork is truly impressive and shows how much it means with him turning up with his family to frame it and put the personal stamp on it. Few players get this kind of send off, which is why as a United fan I have a soft spot for Liverpool. I think Klopp has had a lot to do with that, his whole character definitely spills out into the club, the players and the city for the better.
