I wonder what happened here. Miranda Hart always expressed her will to recur but mentioned the tight schedule colliding with her other projects. Strange, as the series is commissioned for 3 more seasons to stay on air until 2022. With such an advance one could surely make some room for another job, and - with all respect - she doesn't seem to be exceptionally busy these days. So, I think the real reason must be different and maybe the question should go to the writers. BTW: I won't forgive them killing off Barbara. Even if Charlotte Ritchie wanted to leave, there were other ways to let her go.
MRG09100 I know but the actress said that it was better to have closure rather than send her off somewhere and leave us hanging forever. It’s like for Jenny, Patsy and Chummy. I’m still hoping to see them in future seasons.
@@amanekabbaj The decision of leaving the show by being killed off can be pretty risky. Sometimes the popularity doesn't pay off, and the actors known for just one long lasting role can't find any other equally good jobs. That's why it's always good not to burn all the bridges. No. Definitely not. She went to Northfield which is a district in Birmingham.(where I live!!) There was at the time a mental hospital which is now a site for Morrisons super market. If you watched the very first "who do you think you are" bill oddie's late mother was a patient there. The character was so pious and annoying, but that's just my opinion.
Love seeing Stephen McGann and Laura Main together. They seem to enjoy each other's company so much. No wonder they make such a wonderful married couple in Call the Midwife.

yes! Agreed. Would also love to see Patsy and Delia return, as well as when Barbara died, Fr Tom Hereward was there as Barbara died. Her death was absolutely the most heart wrenching thing on that show, as well as sister Evangelina's death.
The first thalidomide baby born and all that storyline made me cry. The backstreet abortion performer at the end of the last series was really moving too, especially when the character performing them is revealed.
Jessica Raine's episode with Joe , the veteran of the Scots' Guards , was THE best episode written of all of them! #2 would be the brother who rescued his sister from the workhouse and lived as husband and wife. 3- the woman who goes back to her estranged dad's pub and he holds on long enough to meet his grandson before he dies.

My most memorable birth was Gloria...not loud and full of action, but a mother who's so traumatized by the loss of seven babies that when it's time to give birth she can't let go and stalls her labour. And Shelagh walked her through it all acknowledging the seven losses. It was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.
The moment of you Dr. Tunner (McGann) singing to Shelagh (Main) was emotional! One character to bring back I would say is CHUMMY! I loved her. I understand the actor who plays Patsy starred on another show, but I would love to see her as well. I love this show.

I love this series. I especially love Dr. Turner. He is sooo believable. I live in the U.S and I can say actors from the UK are soo very well trained and have better stage presence.
3 years late, buuuut --- that's because *most* British actors actually have some level of stage performance experience! It's impossible to rely on special effects or post-editing to touch up your performance when you're in a theatre, after all, and it's often taken to their work on tv and movie sets. Not to mention, pretty much all acting schools here are linked or have connections to theatres and it's very common for aspiring actors and actresses to do performances on stage during their learning.
Her death seemed so real, I forgot it was just a TV show. Barbara was just so wonderful and kind. I sort of lost interest in the show after her death, it was so traumatic for me.
They make the absolute best couple! Dr. Turner is wearing a wedding band but boy are they flirty! I could totally see them together. And I think they are just like their characters
Watching interviews with cast members really shows me why the show is as brilliant as it is. Such warm, real people, combined with excellent writing and production.

I love this show so very much. One of my favorite things to do is sit with a cup of tea and enjoy. All the characters are perfect in my opinion. The music played in the background is spot on. I can hear my mother singing along to all of it.
Can someone remind me what the "epic birth" they are referring to is? Is it the one with the twin sisters where the expecting one wanted to use a midwife but her sister wanted her to give birth using an old method with a chair and later she ended up giving one of the twins she gave birth to to her sister to raise as her own? I think one of the sisters were named Mave. My favorite birth, Too many to remember, but the one that comes to mind, is a white woman who got pregnant by other man who was black, and she is SO worried about what her sweet husband would think the entire episode, when the baby that comes out looks nothing like him, but he loves it instantly. Ooo Laura I love you so so so much 😍 The beauty of her soul can be seen in her bright fascinating blue eyes. Seeing her always so excited in every interview makes me smile. She is so innocent, humble and sincere 💕 And that hasn't changed in 12 years, even though the CTM and she are getting more popular day by day 🌟
I love these two ❤️❤️. The amazing part is that I picked the scene of Teddy’s birth and the return of Sister Evangelina as my favorites too! I think it’s sad that Jenny is the least requested character especially since the show is based on her life.
Personally I thought that the show got better when Jenny disappeared, and the focus was not so much on just one person. It got more interesting when everybody was allowed to shine.

The carter birth so the first one you said with "nursey no brains"
This is a few years old but my wife and I love this show we are Americans and we just love it
I love call the midwife! It's a really real to life show, I feel I'm right there when I watch, it's so beautiful and so many issues tactfully dealt with. If I were an actor, that's one show I'd like to be a part of. Thank you for the upload.
Ooo Laura I love you so so so much 😍 The beauty of her soul can be seen in her bright fascinating blue eyes. Seeing her always so excited in every interview makes me smile. She is so innocent, humble and sincere 💕 And that hasn't changed in 12 years, even though the CTM and she are getting more popular day by day 🌟
The cast is so outstanding… fantastic historical
Drama
I love these two ❤️❤️. The amazing part is that I picked the scene of Teddy’s birth and the return of Sister Evangelina as my favorites too! I think it’s sad that Jenny is the least requested character especially since the show is based on her life.
Right? I miss Jenny so much!
Personally I thought that the show got better when Jenny disappeared, and the focus was not so much on just one person. It got more interesting when everybody was allowed to shine.
@@annsidbrant7616 i have never thought about it like that but i get that. At the same time i do miss Jenny a lot.
Every time I look at Laura I still can’t get over her beauty.
These were great questions! I would love to see more videos like this with the cast members... especially Laura and Stephen
Whoopie in a habit would be great. Lol 😆 Even as a teacher. Bring back Chummy!!!!
I wish they would make a recording of them singing Once I Had a Secret Love!!!!
Laura Main looks very Kylie-ish here!
MRG09100 yuck don’t insult Laura like that 😂 she’s so much more posh than Kylie
Oof
@@bradydomann3102 Are we talking about the same person? Because Kylie I'm talking about is the Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and the Chevalier of l'Ordre des Artes et des Lettres. Receiving a title of the Dame is just a matter of time in her case.
i love theemmmm they're so adorable on and off the show! I'd definitely want Chummy to return!
Laura Main is my FAVORITE ACTRESS I love her!! Stephen McGann is my Actor he is AMAZING!!!! I wish i could meet them!!!!! But i live in America. Sadly.
The One I met him in London I honestly couldn’t breathe
@@unscriptedelizabeth oh my gosh! No way! Did u get his Autograph?
The One no I got a photo instead I was so excited at that point in time that I didn’t know what to do
@@unscriptedelizabeth that is still pretty cool! Do you live in London, or near it?

Nither got it right it’s officially called sphygmomanometer they are adorable
Madison Hernandez Isn’t that what Stephen said?
He said “Sphyg-moma-nometer”
It’s actually “Sphygmo-manometer”
Welp I'm only in season two so I just ruined the entire show for myself
edit: It's three weeks later I'm in season 8. This show is addicting
This show by far IS the BEST show of its kind. Congratulations on season 10
