It's appropriate that this song--beautifully performed in Japan by Armenians--was originally co-written by the American son of a German Jew for a production that told the story inspired by a Croatian-born Austro-Hungarian naval officer who fled Austria because of objections to Nazi pilosophy, and took on Italian citizenship before settling in America. We're all in this together.
Of all of the versions by many musicians, this is THE most glorious and inspiring arrangement of all of them. How wonderfully fortunate we are to have this terrific choir, the director, and superb accompanist, available to us through You Tube. Thank you many times over and again for posting this!! I came across this by chance and have to say i was blown away. Such angelic tone and pitch was just surreal to listen to. I don't think I have ever heard anything so wonderful from a choir so young. Will definitely come back to this when i need to lift my spirits.
The emotions inflicted from hearing this brings my grandfather to my heart. He was born in Austria-Hungary when it was still one country in 1892. My love for that man is still just as strong today as it was when I was a little boy.
Here we go, a 5-minute therapy with an incredibly strong healing power to both the body and soul. Surprisingly balanced and stable sound from a youth choir, with brave and excellent dynamics that only professional choirs can realize so perfectly. That's it! Across Europe and too, the World, Armenian Women and these aren’t Women but children but all will be Women, Armenian Women are known for their beauty and pleasant dispositions. They can adjust to difficulty with less effort than most and young men go to Armenia to find wives because as you know they are beautiful... But thought I would share with you the Reputation of the Armenian Women here in the United States... I think statistically the ratio of Armenian Women marrying foreign born husbands is quite high... But makes all kinds of sense... Thank you again and good luck to all the girls because my guess is very bright futures....

I'm in tears. This song reminds me of my maternal side of the family. My grandparents came here from Germany in the early 1920's and struggled, especially my grandmother. She was widowed at 38. A tough, sad life. A song fraught with emotion and nostalgia.

I'm in tears. This song reminds me of my maternal side of the family. My grandparents came here from Germany in the early 1920's and struggled, especially my grandmother. She was widowed at 38. A tough, sad life. A song fraught with emotion and nostalgia.
