  • Sarah is walking home from school when she notices she is being followed. After politely answering the stranger's questions, she continues on her way. The creepy guy continues to follow her all the way home, so she decides to call the police. But when the officer arrives, he seems to be more interested in shaming the poor girl for what she is wearing than attempting to apprehend the suspect.

    1. Focus on helping victims, not shaming them.
    2. Perseverance seldom fails, but know when to take 'no' for an answer.
    3. Avoid going home if you are being followed as the perpetrator will know where you live.

Just when I think that Sergeant Green is being a good guy, he backslides. How would he feel if someone called his teenaged daughter or granddaughter a tramp? It doesn’t matter what a woman or girl wears because creeps will find a reason to stalk or harass them. She could have been wearing sweatpants and a hoodie and that older guy would still have followed her. I’m glad that the other police sergeant showed up and told off Green and reassured the teen girl. As a guy myself I think “men” act like this is due to the fact that they didn’t learn from either parents on how to approach or let alone treat a woman properly. Fathers they teach sons how to be their own man and how they should treat a lady, Mothers they provide a female’s perspective on how a woman feels if a man were to approach them or treat them in a certain way from right to wrong.

@The English Gentleman ... In the Same Time periods when it was Also considered okay for women to be beat on and Forced to be intimate with their Husbands. Since then, I am glad that womens' rights have changed and evolved for the better. Since 1984, The Laws and Judicial systems have grown and evolved to let women know they Do NOT have to stay with an abusive husband who verbally, physically, or the MANY ways a person currently Doesn't have to deal with being abused (and in some cases Outright Sexually, abused and raped by a person they are married to.) 1984 was a turning point, as That was the year it became Official that Women could actually escape and turn in, and have their abusive husbands, charged, tried (by jury trials) and sent to jail/prison for intimate physical abuse and rape. (Although, if the person's husband/partner is a member of Law Enforcement, It CAN be done, it just takes a lot longer, since most Law Enforcement Officers tend to Cover up and protect each other.) :( :(

@@4Just1Girl well actually, Britain had spousal abuse technically illegal ever since 1641 and older and America had spousal abuse technically abolished ever since 1870 and older in most states. Only a couple of American states permitted some forms of spousal abuse until the 20th century and Britain had spousal abuse strictly abolished hundreds of years ago. The American constitution also never permitted violence for reasons other than civilized reasons like self defense. The past in MOST of our society wasn't very cavemanlike back then, it just didn't have as much laws since the government was far smaller back then.

My added FYI, Never believe that Even a Family member can't be dangerous...as many women, wives and even Mothers and Grandmothers can be violently assaulted, raped and possible victims of Murder By either a man OR a woman. there are some very sick and twisted people out in the world. And I certainly wanted to Punch that officer when he asked the 16 YEAR OLD GIRL what SHE WAS WEARING WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED!! A Person's Clothing HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING STALKED BY SOMEONE WHO IS A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER TO THE PERSON BEING STALKED!!! NOR DOES THEIR AGE!!! Kidnapped and sequentially Sold via Human trafficking....To strangers willing to pay Millions to have a child to do with what they wish! It could’ve been laundry day or a day they forgot to dry the clothes after washing them and didn’t have time to do so and the so-called inappropriate attire might’ve been the only clean and/or dry clothes she had to wear.

(as Believe it, or not, Prison inmates DO NOT tolerate other criminals who stalk, molest, and cause torture upon children, or even teenagers.) I have had a family member who was in jail for that (Child abuse & assault) and he was brutally beaten and tortured to the point he ALMOST died), but only barely survived because the authorities in charge separated him to a more Single confinement space away from the other inmates.

Good thing Officer Garrett doesn’t put the blame on the victim when they’re really in trouble. It was pretty unprofessional of what Officer Green did, saying it was her fault she was being harassed cause of the way she was dressed. I’m sure as heck that wearing a specific outfit has nothing to do with attracting attention, least in some situations. But women get harassed sometimes at work and in public. And sometimes women wearing a specific outfit does attract attention, if teenage girls act and dress grown, then predators might try to flirt with them and worst get them pregnant. So Officer Green could’ve been right about the whole clothes thing if Sarah was harassed by a predator based what she was wearing assuming she was a grown woman. But that wasn’t the case, the man followed her home and was bugging her.

Two things I had an issue with this video. Number 1. The fact that she knew this guy was following her and she decided to go home. If you're being stalked by some creep like that NEVER go home because now they know where you live.
Number 2. The fact that the cop was blaming the whole thing on the young girl. The way that girl was dressed DOESN'T justify the fact that some CREEP was STALKING her.

THIS! #1 is why young women would be benefited by carrying firearms & training @ the range! But it’s not just young women. It’s also rather common for elders to be attacked when Social Security checks come around. IIRC, there’s a direct deposit way to do it but the elders in my practice grew up in another era where everyone actually went to the bank w/ their checks. Old habits die hard.
