Tips for structuring a cohesive and coherent discussion section: 1. Restate the main result 2. compare it with the literature. 3. Explaining differences between our results and previous researchers' results. 4. Interpret the findings to explain the main takeaway message
Recently my paper was rejected in the journal of environmental planning and management published by Taylor and francis because I compared my findings with previous studies by saying “my findings are consistent with those of previous studies...... “. I immediately concluded that the editor must go back to school and study research methodology again
Hello there! Great presentation, however I have a comment // question. From my experience so far in publications of papers regarding economics, the process that you described concerns the results section, while in discussion I normally refer to significance and practical implications. Is there a general consensus about the thematic of each section or it is just a matter of experience with economic journals? Shall the results be presented in a different manner? Thank you very much in advance!
Can you explain the differences between the discussion section within a chapter and the main discussion chapter. I have three studies in my thesis and I am writing each study as a chapter then a main discussion chapter. Thank you
Same for me. I kind of finshed writing the discussion within chapters. Now I don't know how to write the main discussion chapter. Have you finished the writing?
Sadly, discussion chapter is not 1 paragraph, but usually 2-10 pages. And I would break the discussion chapter into 1.Explaining results. 2. Open Challenges. 3. Future directions. ->And discuss about everything you mentioned within those sections.
Hello there, I just started on my Phd journey. I live in Mumbai India. So am not sure if free one to one session with you is feasible or not, given we are countries and time zones apart...but I am hugely interested in obtaining valuable guidance from you through the one-to-one session.
I tried to register for a session that he offered for free and I mentioned that i have a budget and that his price per session will give me an idea how many I can afford since the first one was for free and he didn’t provide prices online. Afterwards he sent me an email saying he can’t help me and I that we are not a good fit to work together!!! Very disappointing! I only said I need hell organizing my ideas and make my writing more readable, how is that not a good fit! Or is it just the money part?
Hi Alaa! We receive more applications that we can take, so we scrutinize each individually using various criteria picking a handful of those that are of highest quality, and ones we're very confident we'll be able to help and work with
He is providing you with a complete and in full explanation of exactly what the title says for free. Approx 30 seconds of a 6 minute video is an advertisement of his services that can greatly help others in need. Also dont forget this is his job, hes not doing this for fun.
