Extreme is my go to as it doesn't dim too much in a well lit room. The brightness is IMO balanced between it and the Backlight Strobe tech. Ultra is too dim with minimal difference.

I notice the UFOs in the top strip have some kinda shaded effect to their right that I can't quite remember what it's called, is this cumbersome while in-game or does it go by unnoticed? And lastly, how beneficial is the strobing to you? Do you notice any latency (input lag) penalties? It looks super clear but I don't know if it worsens if you start doing flicks and stuff. I would seriously appreciate your input on this mate. Thanks again!
@@theanswer3574 When I do gaming I often look at the middle of the screen, so it goes by unnoticed. As for the input lag, I don't notice any difference between off and on for strobing. Flicks are as if it's unstrobed.

Have you noticed any image retention? I was told that XG2431 can develop temporary image retention like other 240hz 1080p IPS monitors. I was gonna get it thinking it didn't have it. I really hate image retention and I'm worried that at some point it won't go away which sometimes happens.
I’m struggling to make it bright using custom PureXP in games, ended up turning it off and using Ultra fast response time, much better color saturation and brightness. Hope i’m still getting advantage of the monitor this way ..
PureXP is good if you want to get CRT level motion clarity. You still get an amazing 240hz experience if you dont use it, but the clarity during motion you get using PureXP is awesome too.

@@1SOSORBIDE viewsonic xg2431 has slightly lower input lag and response times. It's much better for gaming overall because it's an IPS panel, meaning better colours plus there isn't much difference between the BenQ and the viewsonic, besides the brightness levels and the monitor tilting.

cool, but nobody tells you that you need constantly 240 fps to make the purexp work! so for me it was a waste of money. my system is too good to upgrade right now. but its just not reaching 240 fps...
Got the monitor maybe 3-4 months ago, it’s now not looking very good at all, blurry and ghosty mess 😔 I just want a good monitor that has no ghosting or anything at 240hz. My issue is any time I’m not moving the mouse the monitor is perfect, the instant I start moving my mouse I see small trails behind everything. It’s infuriating.
Try the Viewsonic Strobe Utility and use QFT trick. Look for iton Blur Busters Forums. On lower refresh rates its even clearer. Round 1: PureXP OFF, Overdrive Advanced?, 240Hz Round 2: PureXP Light? middle screen, Overdrive Advanced?, 240Hz Round 2: PureXP Normal? middle screen, Overdrive Advanced?, 240Hz Round 3: PureXP Extreme? middle screen, Overdrive Advanced?, 240Hz UFO Speed: 1080pps (actual speed: 1200pps) Your camera shutter is set wrong for ufo test and ISO is high too.

Bought this monitor and haven’t even had it for a month and then out of nowhere today it became pixelated and blurry. Except for a thin top layer on the monitor.
Very bad monitor I bought the monitor and I found a dead pixel then I returned the monitor then they send another one and it has no dead pixel then after month I find a stuck pixel I don't know why

Normal is slightly better then the BenQ and has good brightness. Its unusable on Ultra, Extreme is a little dim but not too bad. Should be fine

PureXP is good if you want to get CRT level motion clarity. You still get an amazing 240hz experience if you dont use it, but the clarity during motion you get using PureXP is awesome too.

Wdym overdrive advanced? The response time setting? There’s normal high and ultra if I recall. But you can’t change those if pureXP is enabled
