It cracked me up how you just wander up & do the biz with 2 beaut Salmon while those surrounding you decked out in their flash fishing gear with their farm bikes parked up just stand around talking bullshit lol. Very unfortunate with the new rules for 2022-2023 for Salmon allowing only to keep 2 for the entire season. Such a shame. Keep up the cool vids & tight lines bro. Chur

I caught 5 this year and lost 3 all on the Waitaki
Ran into a fellow fisherman on the river and he had claimed to have caught 23 and it was only mid February plus I saw him a lot in a boat since then.

Sole I’m from Alaska and what they say about bleeding is all preference. It don’t damage the meat . It’s just so when you eat it it’ll be easier to cook rather then taking the blood out with labor before cooking while gutting the fish .

Absolutely great to be out there fishing for a trophy 🏆 Salmon at opihi river mouth. The biggest Salmon l caught was 32lbs very happy.

hey mate, I'm planning to have a trip to South island recently. If possible, I would like to catch some salmons as well. Could you tell me what the best season to catch salmons, regulations in that area(bag limit? any no fishing zone?) and your gears in detail? Thanks for helping in advance. :)
Searun salmon season is from october to april!. u need a license too lol you can look online.. nz fish and game website. Thea are salmon at the tekapo & twizil canals u can catch all year round but they not searun..

JoPro Fish only silver salmon left but most people don’t go for it getting cold and bear getting more aggressive this time of the year. I went last weekend and that’s it for salmon.
