If they didn't cut *so much* content, it would have been glorious.
The fun banter that dungeon/raid bosses have and the sheer quality of those dungeons and raids just shows how great it could have been. Not to mention the questline to level through... people can say what they want about the expansion, I have yet to meet someone that didn't love leveling through it the very first time.

draenor is the home world of the orcs; in the original timeline they drank mannoroth's (the big dragon guy, part of a race of demons known as annihilan, or more commonly, pit lords) blood, which corrupted them and turned their skin green. then they built the dark portal, which connected to azeroth, and started the invasion known as the first war which kicked off most of the problems in azeroth's recent history.
at the end of mists of pandaria the then-warchief of the horde, garrosh hellscream, gets help from a bronze dragon (dragons who have power over time) to transport him to an alternate timeline at a point in draenor's history where the orcs hadn't yet drank mannoroth's blood. he tells his father, grommash 'grom' hellscream not to drink the mountain dew, so he doesn't... and then grom puts together an army and builds the dark portal to invade the original timeline azeroth anyway.
you've seen the dark portal before in burning crusade's cinematic; draenor was broken by the rampant use of demonic magic and became a shattered world known as outland, which was the setting of the burning crusade expansion, and warlords of draenor showed us what it looked like before it was ruined.
also in the original timeline grom killed mannoroth in a very similar way as this cinematic to free the orcs from their demon blood-induced curse, but he did it about 23 years later and died doing it, because that particular race of demons explode when they die (which garrosh saved him from in this cinematic)

Don't forget about The Burdens of Shao Hao, Lords of War, Harbingers, Warbringers and now Shadowlands Afterlife (these are really new.)
So it says 35 years ago because due to time travel shenanigans Garrosh Hellscream (the one that says time's change) travels to an alternate reality in the past to the time were the orcs were enslaved by the demon Manoroth (the winged guy) the one that kills him is Grom Hellscream the father of Garrosh.
Garrosh knew what would happen because in the main timeline, Grom is the first to drink the demon blood and the cause why they are enslaved.
In this reality though Garrosh was never born due to events that happened in Lords of War Grom Hellscream (nudge, nudge, wink, wink.) So Grom, at this point, doesn't know he is his son and doesn't anything about him or where he came from so Garrosh convince his AU father to build the dark portal (the one you see in The Burning Crusade) to travel to Main Universe to conquer Garrosh foes.

Lol ok so this cinematic requires a bit of a deeper dive. Allow me to explain.
If you saw my comment from the “Mists of Pandaria” cinematic video, you know that the war between the alliance and horde was taken to pandaria. The leader of the horde at this time, is Garrosh Hellscream. He’s the bald orc in this cinematic.
Garrosh was too proud and aggressive, wanting to build the strongest horde he possibly could build, like an orc hitler.
Garrosh had a friend who could time travel (because that is a thing in wow). He made a plan to go 35 years in the past to a pivotal moment in the horde’s history and change it, to make the horde stronger. That moment is this cinematic.
It’s the moment the Orcs fell under the corruption of the pit lord, Mannoroth (the big demon dude in the video). All the orcs who drank his blood were bloodlusted, filled with strength and rage, and became killing machines. This is what turned the orc’s skin green (they’re originally brown).
Garrosh went back in time to stop them from drinking Mannoroths blood. He also gave them technology and weapons from the present day (that big ball thing, aka an iron star).
The long hair guy is garrosh’s father, Grom Hellscream, leader of the horde back then. Garrosh met his dad, grom, in the past, to do all of this, and change the past.
And the old orc with the hood and green eyes who says “give everything” is Gul’Dan, an evil orc, and a minion of the big dude, Mannoroth.
    Hope this helps!!
P.S. you’re analysis at the end was pretty good! Yes, the ritual was set up, a double crossing. Garrosh who had already met with his father Grom, and told him not to accept the blood of Mannoroth. So Grom and the orcs knew coming into this what to do.

    Here's a quick run-through:
Draenor is the home-world of the orcish Horde
    Characters:
    1) Main guy - Grommash Hellscream legendary warchief of the orcs
    2) Red eyed guy - Gul'dan - orcish warlock who sold his race to the Burning Legion (endless army of demons who had burned countless worlds during their burning crusade)
    3) Hooded guy - Garrosh Hellscream, a son of Grommash
    4) Big demon - Mannoroth - one of the generals of the Burning Legion - by drinking his blood 35 years ago orcs became slaves to the Legion
Now, in our history orcish clans on Draenor were enslaved by the Legion, they formed an army - The Horde - then built a Dark Portal to Azeroth and began their invasion. Human kingdoms were ruined but they managed to found an Alliance and push the Horde back, eventually winning.
A lot happened since then, but the Horde managed to free themselves from the demons of the Burning Legion and helped in defence of their new world - Azeroth.
During Mists of Pandaria on Azeroth Horde and Alliance found a new land, rich with resources and ancient artifacts of the past (and pandas ffs). During the conflict for this land Horde's leader, Garrosh Hellscream, managed to turn the Horde against him, for he was willing to commit terrible crimes in order to defeat his enemies. This conflict ended with the Siege of the Horde's capital city and a trial, during which Garrosh managed to espace.
He then travelled to the alternative universe past, to Draenor before the Horde was the thing. He warned his father not to drink the blood of Mannoroth but instead use the tecnologies, which Garrosh took with him, and invade Azeroth once more but now with more knowledge.
The invasion took place but Azeroth proved ready (sadly we kinda never lose) - we thwarted this new Iron Horde attack, many of their generals were killed, Garrosh died in a duel with his mentor (in a cinematic: ua-cam.com/video/D1SdVC2mrz8/v-deo.html), then Gul'dan took over what was left of the Iron Horde, made them drink demon's blood, but this didn'e help them much.
He even summoned one of two most powerful Legion commanders, but we defeated him.
Gul'dan then fled to Azeroth to start a new Legion envasion - this is how next expanson (Legion) began.

The red eye orc is Gul'dan, Betrayer of the Orcs, in the games timeline the Horde did drink the Blood of Mannoroth (that green goop) and became slaves to the Demons.
In this expansions alternate timeline as you can see they didn't because Garrosh (former leader of the Horde, and the guy who said "times change") went back in time and told his father Grommash (the guy who killed the demon, Mannoroth the Destructor) what would happen.

Hello there! Not sure if this will be seen, but I really enjoyed your reactions! Here's some things you should know to help clear some things up.
#1. The Orc with the red eyes is a Warlock named Gul'dan, and yes, he does serve the demons.
#2. That large beast is a powerful demon that is used because of its constant bloodlust. They're called Annihilans, but they are also called Pit Lords as well.
#3. The Orc that put his axe into that Pit Lords head was Grommash Hellscream. The other one that looks like him, but bald is Garrosh Hellscream. Grommash is the father of Garrosh.

so after Mists of Pandaria, Garrosh went back in time(this cinematic) and prevented the orcs from drinking demon blood and saved his father thus creating an alternative timeline where draenor wasnt destroyed and the Draenei and Orcs were free from the Burning Legion. Warlords of Draenor is my favorite expansion, I loved the lore and I loved the music. Oh yeah and in the end they were building the dark portal to travel to the normal timeline Azeroth

  • @principetnomusic

It's a time travel expansion! In the original Warcraft games, the orcs did sell their souls to the demons, but eventually freed themselves and became good. However, the evil orcish warrior named Garrosh Hellscream (he's the one who says "Times change") went back in time and conscripted the orcs from the past into his army, by telling them what would happen beforehand.
Over the course of the expansion, you actually fight both the free orcs (called the Iron Horde, separate from the good Horde that you play as) and the orcs who serve demons. Eventually, the players defeat both, but Gul'dan (the leader of the demon-worshipping orcs, the one who offers the cup of Mountain Dew) escapes to our universe and helps the demons there, causing the Legion expansion.

Actualy this guys are all the bad guys :) But is ok, we killed them all but Grommash (the one that spills the mountain dew)
Ok here is the deal: The creepy orc with the bone shoulderpads is Guldan, an orc warlock that sold out to the burning legion (the main antagonist up till the Legion expansion in all Warcraft). He gathered all the orc clans atop that mountain to offer them the blood of Manoroth (that big demon with the fiery head). The blood would make orcs WAY stronger, badder, angrier ... and it would mind control them...
In the original timeline Grommash (the one that spills the mountain dew) drinks it and since he is like a hero to all the orcs, they follow his example, and they all turned into slaves of the Burning Legion, and got then sent to the world of Azeroth (the place of the warcraft games) to destroy and conquer it, which is what the Burning Legion does. Tho they got defeated, put in confinement camps, later one of them broke free, united the clans, and with the help and sacrifice of Grommash, freed them from Manoroth's mind control, in a sequence exactly like you see here when he kills Manoroth, but in the original, he takes the full blast of the explosion and dies...
Years later, the orc that freed and united the clans traveled to whats left of the planet of Draenor, now called Outlands, and finds Grommash son, Garrosh. Many things happens, Garrosh turns into Hittler then gets defeated, jailed, he breaks free and travels tru time to an alternate timeline in the past, where he warns his father about what is realy gonna happens if he drinks the mountain dew. Garrosh is the hooded guy that says "Times Change". He knew what was gonna happen when his father murdered Manoroth, thats why he jumps and saves him or he would have died as he dies in the original timeline years later.
Of course now the orcs are NOT under the control of noone, aaaaaaaaaaaaand they repeat the same mistake by trying to take over Azeroth, but this time they get pushed back so hard they dosent realy make it far into Azeroth, and instead, the people from Azeroth travels to this alternate Draenor and beats the crap out of this new "Iron Horde" and Thrall, the orc that freed and united the clans, the guy that went to look for Grommash son and brough him to Azeroth so he could then become crazy and do all this crap, challenges him to death and kills him in alternate Draenor. THE END.

The Giant Dragon lookin guy is called Mannoroth and he is one of the strongest Demons ever and he is the most well known Pit Lord Demon in Warcraft History.
The person who was offered the Demon Blood was Grommash Hellscream The Father of Garrosh Hellscream and was Warchief of the Orcs on Dreanor (the home world of the orcs).
The Green skinned Orc was Gul'dan one of the most well known Warlocks in WoW and obviously the servant of the Demons and the Burning Legion.
The hooded Orc who saved Grommash from the explosion was Garrosh Hellscream who had gone back in time after the events of the "Mists of Pandaria" expansion to convince his father to not Drink the Demon Blood so that the Orcs would never be corrupted by the Burning Legion and used as Puppets by Kil'jaiden (who wanted to use the Orcs to kill the Draenie that he despised), of course Garrosh did not tell his father who he really was.
Now its up to the Heroes of Azeroth to stop the incoming Invasion by the newly formed Iron Horde.

  • @Alt-o-holic47
    @Alt-o-holic47 4 роки тому

So, Wade was really close for the most part.
This event happened 35 years ago in our primary timeline on the planet of Draenor, the Orc homeland. In the primary timeline, Gul'dan offered one Grommash Hellscream "The Blood of Mannoroth" and Grommash was the first to drink. This made all other orcs turn Green after they drank it. This lead to the events of the first Warcraft game.
Fast forward to Mists of Pandaria (your favorite) and the Horde Warchief, no one other than Grommash's son, Garrosh has turned corrupt. Basically trying to kill everyone. He was beaten, but instead of being executed, he was put on trial. During his trial, he was freed by a prophet (Son of Deathwing) Wrathion and Kairozdormu (A member of the Bronze Dragonflight ( Time Travelers)) in hopes that he would help defeat the Legion. They took him to a few days before the event of this cinematic, but Garrosh ended up killing Kairozdormu instead. He then found his father, leader of the Warsong clan (Keep in mind, Garrosh is his son from another timeline) and basically told him and the other orc clans what was going to happen here.
Grommash, with the knowledge he obtained from Garrosh, denied Gul'dan and Mannoroth more slaves. Mannoroth was the big demon guy. Garrosh was the guy who saved Grommash from dying to the big demon explosion (this is how Grommash died in our primary timeline)

  • @lanceyoung1640

Grommash is the orc with the axe. His son, Garrosh is who saved him from the explosion that came from Mannoroth (who is a pit lord that works for Sargeras). Gul'dan was the orc with the red eyes who is also known as the most powerful warlock in Warcraft lore.

Mannoroth, the lord of all pit lords, is one of the higher demon generals that was unleashed by higher forces in the Warcraft universe. It's a long story of events and mostly started by a a dude named Sargeras. The lore is amazing for a game of this magnitude and there are dozens of books and information online that I would highly recommend.
Warcraft started in the 90's and will live on indefinitely. It's one of the most popular series of all time

The demon is a Pit Lord named Mannoroth. Pit Lords are high ranking members of the Burning Legion. In the main timeline the orcs did drink the green stuff, which is actually Mannoroth’s blood. This enslaved them to the Burning Legion and gave them additional power, but also increased their bloodlust. In the main timeline Grommash also “kills” Mannoroth in the same way, but it is well after the orcs invaded Azeroth and Grommash dies after killing Mannoroth.

  • @HankJ666

This was probably the single most important event in the history of World of Warcraft, in the original, Draenor, the world of the orcs, is about to die and Gul'Dan (green red eyes orc), who is actually responsible for it, offers the orcs the blood of Mannoroth (big ass demon dude)
Then, Grommash Hellscream (The one who refuses the blood in the cinematic) drinks it and everyone else follows
The orcs become stronger, their skin turns green and their eyes glow red
They were then used (without being aware of) by the burning legion to murder the Draenei, a race that came from the planet Argus, fleeing from the legion
Once almost all draenei died, Gul'Dan, with the help of the most powerful wizard on Azeroth, the guardian Medivh, who was possesed by Sargeras, the leader of the burning legion, created a gate between worlds, the Dark portal, which is seen at the end of this cinematic as well as in the cinematic for the burning crusade
Once the portal was completed, the orcs traveled through it and went to Azeroth
    Yes, orcs *ARE* aliens
This is when the first war (aka the first warcraft game) begins
Skip a bunch of years and we get to Warcraft 3
In WC3 the orcs travel west, to the forgotten continent of Kalimdor and the burning legion is trying to invade Azeroth once more, after failing 10.000 years ago, to do so, they use the plague, a disease that turns people into undead and in Kalimdor, they try to get rid of the night elves and the demigod Cenarius
To do this, Mannoroth pours his blood into a fountain which Grommash finds and drinks from along with his men to get the power to defeat Cenarius, who had mistaken the orcs for demons to begin with
This time tho, their skin turns red
Once Gromm kills Cenarius, Mannoroth shows up and tells Gromm that the orcs are his slaves and they are binded to him by the blood they drank
Gromm has to accept this, but he is later saved by Thrall, the warchief at the time, Cairne Bloodhoof and Jaina Proudmore through a ritual
Once Gromm is no longer corrupted, Thrall and him travel to a canyon where they face Mannoroth and here Gromm kills Mannoroth, Mannoroth then explodes and Gromm takes the explosion, (the scene is mimicked in this cinematic, except here he is saved) getting badly hurt, while he dies, the glow on his eyes disappear and claims to have lifted the blood curse and freed himself, as Thrall tells him that, no, he freed all the orcs
Skip a bunch of years and we get to The burning crusade
Here we get to Outlands (former Draenor) and meet Garrosh Hellscream
Garrosh is Gromm's son, who he left in Draenor due to him being sick with some kind of pox in a camp specifically made to heal it
After burning crusade, we bring Garrosh with us to Azeroth, he eventually becomes Warchief of the horde and ends up doing some really fucking serious war crimes
When he is about to get judged, a bronze dragon uses the power of an artifact to travel back in time but into a different timeline, this dragon's plan was to create an infinite army with infinite orcs from infinite timelines, Garrosh tho, had another plan...
He choked the dragon to death and told his father about Gul'Dan and the burning legion, he shared goblin technology the orcs didn't had yet with them and made up a plan to kill Mannoroth, prevent the orcs from drinking the blood AND build the Dark Portal to invade Azeroth, but not that timeline's Azeroth, *OUR* Azeroth, which is what we see in the cinematic and why Garrosh's answer to Gul'Dan's "This was not our destiny" was...
    "Times change"

This is impossible to appreciate without having seen the Orc campaign cinematic for Warcraft 3 and knowing a little bit of the plot of Mists of Pandaria.
So the green orc guy with the spikes is Gul'dan, in the original timeline, he helps the demons corrupt the orcs and turn them green. Garrosh Hellscream (the bald one with the big chin) uses time travel to go back to the orc homeworld of Draenor (now Outland) and stop Gul'dan from corrupting the orcs. His daddy, Grommash Hellscream, is the one with the axe and he dies in Warcraft 3 killing that same demon (called Mannoroth), but only after his people have been demon corrupted for decades.
Honestly, it's the most difficult cinematic to watch without context, since it relies on a ton of Warcraft lore. Stoked to see the Legion cinematic, but I'd also love it if you guys watched the Warcraft 3 cinematics.

This whole trailer is an alternate timeline to what happened in a game called Warcraft 3. There was a whole series of cinematics in that game and one of them was a fight with this demon, but the ending was different... oh, and the bald guy is his son, who came from the future to save his father from the demon blowing up.

So the idea is that Orcs aren't the bad guys, they are only bad because the demons corrupted them with that green stuff (demon blood) decades ago.
In WarCraft III, the precursor to WoW, there was a scene when an Orc hero killed that demon, which finally freed the Orcs from his blood's corruption. The Orc hero then died from the demon's death explosion.
That hero's son later became the Horde's Warchief and from there a war criminal. He was overthrown and jailed at the end of the last expansion. But then he broke out of jail, went back in time, and prevented his dad from drinking the demon blood. He then saved his dad's life from the death explosion. Now what happens?

It’s an alternate timeline. The Orc with brown skin that covered his head with cowl is Garrosh Hellscream, son of Grommash Hellscream (the other brown skin orc that dumped out the blood of Mannoroth from the cup). The orc originally drank the blood of Mannoth (the big dragon demon referred to as a Pit Lord) and became slaves to the will of Mannoroth and the Burning Legion. Garrosh was put on trial for war crimes and escaped his prison with the help of a dragon who could control time. The dragon escapes with him back in time to the Orc homeworld of Draenor. Garrosh kills the dragon and proceeds to alter the timeline where the Orcs were never slaves to the Burning Legion and his father Grommash never died in the explosive fire when Mannoroth was slain. Mannoroth and Guldan (orc warlock with red eyes) were major players in the downfall of the orcs in the true timeline but are ultimately servants to the Dark Titan and ruler of the Burning Legion, Sargeras. Starting with Warlords of Draenor expansion moving forward, Blizzard started to also produce animated shorts to give some prologue and backstory to the expansion’s characters. Warlords of Draenor 5 animated shorts are titled Lords of War. Legions 3 animated shorts are titled Harbinger. Battle for Azeroth 3 animated shorts are titled Warbringers. Just a little backstory and suggestions with future reaction videos.

Bit of condensed Lore: as mentioned in the cinematic, 35 years ago, the Pit Lord, Mannoroth (the huge demon in the cinematic) tricked the Orcs into consuming his blood (the green drink), which is how the Orcs got their green skin color, instead of their natural orange red skin. There were still those who chose not to consume it, but were still essentially enslaved. The Orcs did the bidding of Mannoroth and his masters, The Burning Legion, built a portal (known as The Dark Portal) leading from their planet of Draenor into Azeroth, and invaded the humans, leading into the events of the Warcraft RTS...
In regards to this cinematic and expansion, at the end of Most of Pandaria, Garrosh Hellscream (the bald Orc that said Time's change) pretty much wanted a pure Horde of Orcs only and betrayed the other races, but was ultimately defeated. However, he escaped with the help of a Bronze Dragonflight, who has the ability to travel through time, and went back to a moment before the Orcs consumed the blood. He met with his father, Grommash (long hair Orc with the axe), told him everything, brought technology and weapons from the present, and was able to to be prepared for the meeting in the cinematic...Thus, setting up the premise of the Warlords of Draenor Expansion, where an alternate timeline was created, and Garrosh Hellscream helped Create the Iron Horde and plans to conquer the present... There's a lot more to it, but again, doing what I can do super condense it!
Fun Fact/Spoiler alert: The Scene where you see Grommash consumed in the fire is a throwback to a cinematic in Wacraft 3: Reign of Chaos, where the present timeline, he and Thrall defeated Mannoroth, but was killed by the blast in the same manner. Y'all should check that one out, too!

LORDS OF WAR, don't miss it)

  • @Jessethoth
    @Jessethoth 4 роки тому

The winged guy is not a dragon he's a demon. Actually, a higher ranking demon lord of the Burning Legion. In the main reality, before Warcraft: Orcs & Humans (1994). Before the Dark Portal was opened between Azeroth and Draenor (the orc world). The orc with the long hair (Grommash or "Grom" Hellscream was the first one to drink the blood. In Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos (2002) he freed the orcs from the curse and bloodlust by killing this demon Mannoroth. However, the energy unleashed killed him. Both of these games were before WoW (2004).
In Mists of Pandaria (2012) Garrosh Hellscream (Grom's son) was the final boss of the last raid in that expansion. The Horde had a rebellion which worked with the Alliance to overthrow him as most characters in the story (and players in the game) began to hate him due to some extreme actions on his part. In the novel Warcrimes (they do a novel as a sort of bridge between each expansion usually) another character we worked with in the past betrayed us at Garrosh's trial in Pandaria and ripped open a rift in time into another reality. So he escaped 35 years into the past but also in an alternate reality where some things were a little...different. For the most part the Draenor he escaped to is the same as the one in Warcraft 2 that became Outland by the time of Warcraft 3. The trick is...it doesn't effect the history of Azeroth, Outland, the Horde or the Alliance.
He stops the orcs from drinking the Blood of Mannoroth in this reality and convinces this reality's Grom who has no idea Garrosh is his son not to trust the warlock Gul'dan. This cinematic is a moment of retribution for a lot of fans of orc lore to see what could have been. A bit of karma against Gul'dan who is a hated villain in the game canon and in the Warcraft movie. Unfortunately Garrosh, through manipulation, gives Grom the impression that the Alliance and Horde from Azeroth are evil and serve the Burning Legion. At the end of this cinematic what you see is them building their version of the Dark Portal which he links to the main timeline's (right after Mists of Pandaria) Dark Portal 35 years in the future just months after the Siege of Orgrimmar (where we kicked Garrosh's ass).
Out comes this "Iron Horde" which he convinced Grom to form and become the Warchief of instead of Blackhand the Destroyer becoming the Warchief of the Horde. See from our point of view he escaped Pandaria through a rift in time for a few months but from his he was there at least a year maybe more and he had the plans and blueprints for weapons and technology from the time of Mists of Pandaria which he took to approximately 6 years pre-Warcraft 1 to equip the Iron Horde. Garrosh also knew how his father died in the main timeline so he knew to knock Grom out of the way after Mannoroth died as a sort of callback to the Orc campaign ending cinematic from Warcraft 3 where Grom didn't move and died from the energy unleashed.
The reason for the original Horde invading Azeroth was that their world Draenor was dying from too much use of fel magic (the green fire and magic you'll see a lot) corrupting the land. Plant and animal life became scarce and they needed a new land to conquer. They ended up going after another planet entirely with Azeroth. They weren't exactly slaves to the Burning Legion in a literal sense but insead were tricked to drink the Blood of Mannoroth by Gul'dan and the other warlocks under him known as the "Shadow Council" believing it would make them stronger. It also however, made them more bloodthirsty and vicous, more prone to be merciless and act on aggression following orders more unthinkingly. While Blackhand the Destroyer was the Warchief of the Horde he was ignorant to the manipulation really going on. All of "his" ideas for the Horde's actions were actually the ideas of Gul'dan who himself was recieving instructions from Kil'jaeden...a demon lord of the Burning Legion. This is the history of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness and the prequel novel Rise of the Horde.
In the movie they depict Gul'dan as being kind of the leader but in game canon he just influenced Blackhand's decisions through suggestion. One thing to note is the Gul'dan from Warcraft 1 and 2 never drank the blood as he knew better. He was green but didn't have glowing eyes. This one did and is more like a loyal lapdog of the Legion. What got the original Gul'dan killed in Warcraft 2 was his hunger for power. He eventually betrayed the Horde costing them the Second War by trying to steal an artifact from the deceased body of the Avatar of Sargeras. Which was a manifestation of the Lord of the Burning Legion. The Dark Titan Sargeras. Gul'dan pushed too far into the Tomb of Sargeras and ended up getting ripped apart by demons. A final note about fel magic is it's not inherently evil just extremely chaotic and unstable. It's just most often wielded by the Burning Legion. There are however warlocks and demon hunters loyal to the Horde and Alliance who use fel power even against the Legion.
Warlords was mostly a disappointment. They cut A LOT of content from the expansion because people just weren't into it after hitting level 100 and seeing it's end game systems. They did a lot of lazy stuff like the Garrison system which is mostly hated that didn't fit with WoW's usual end game progression. Boring Farmville style chores and not really needing to do daily quests in the world or dungeons and raids to gear up for higher difficulty raiding was bland. Only 7 dungeons and 3 raids by the end of the expansion compared to most other expansions giving sometimes 12 or even 15 dungeons and 5-7 raids by the end. It's almost like they realized it wasn't working so they cut half of it and put all that effort into Legion which was a pretty beefy expansion content wise and helped bring people back.
Also you guys haven't actually reacted to any of the trailers. I watch a lot of these reactions from other channels and one thing that helps is knowing the types of videos there are. The actual "features" trailers are worth watching. There are also trailers for every major patch like 3.1 Secrets of Ulduar, 3.2 Call of the Crusade and 3.3 Fall of the Lich King. Each expansion has these major content patches which are mini expansions unto themselves. Those have actual themed trailers and then there are the in-game cinematics the first of which was Wrathgate in Wrath of the Lich King. For example the Warlords of Draenor annoucnement trailer came out before this intro cinematic did. This is just to help if you guys decide to react to more when you get to the last intro cinematic for WoW Shadowlands as there's a LOT more you can react to that way. Another thing I see other commenters mentioning is the Animated Shorts they do. They started this with Mists of Pandaria in 2012 and there were none for the previous expansions but they are Burdens of Shaohao (Mists of Pandaria), Lords of War (Warlords of Draenor), Harbingers (Legion), Warbringers (Battle for Azeroth) and Afterlives (Shadowlands). In parenthesis there are the expansions each one goes along with. They're pretty good and multi part and more like an animated graphic novel type thing.
So in list form you have:
Expansion anouncement trailers (sometimes Features trailers)
Animated Short series for every expansion including and after Mists of Pandaria
    Intro cinematics
    Patch trailers
    In-game cinematics
Most people who play WoW don't even know the lore so it's awesome that you guys are taking an interest. Warcraft is honestly an amalgam of pretty much every mythology and fantasy. It started as an imitation of Warhammer way back in 94 as there were no video games based on that then later it took inspiration from D&D and Lord of the Rings until now where it honestly has a bit of everything in it from old mythologies and other fiction including HP Lovecraft and certain written fantasy as well as comics. What sets it apart from just being a ripoff is it does it's version of things really well and I think it stands alone personally.
End game activities include PvE and PvP. Leveling starts by questing and at 15 you can queue for dungeons in the Dungeon Finder and just level that way or you can queue up for PvP matches to level. Whether it's 2v2 or 3v3 arena (there used to be 5v5) or battlegrounds which can be 10v10 15v15 40v40 etc. there's a decent amount of options for PvP. There's even "War Mode" which makes quests give more XP and rewards in the open world but you're attackable by the opposite faction. . The game has a lot for every degree of player. I mean there are Karens that play WoW just to farm cute pets and mounts and hey...more power to them. If you make it to max level try your hand at everything the game has to offer. The social aspect has been dimmed a bit due to "convenience systems" like dungeon finder and raid finder (originally you put groups together by talking in Trade Chat or if you were in a guild your Guild Chat). Still what mostly made this game successful was fans of Warcraft 1-3 and the social aspect and pairing with other players to take on larger challenges MEANT for multiple players. Everyone has preferred one expansion or another as they reinvent the game to an extent tweaking the character's abilities or overhauling fundamental systems. The game has had a long history of greater and lesser moments but all in all I still like it. Especially considering I grew up with the older Warcraft games before WoW.

Okay, at the end of Mists of Pandaria Garrosh Hellscream, the one who said, "Times change." ends up being the main bad guy by forcing the Horde and Alliance further into war. He pushed the Horde too far though and it reached the point that most of the Horde rebelled because of Garrosh's dishonorable and tyrannical methods. After the combined force of the rebel Horde and Alliance defeat Garrosh they imprison him. He is then liberated by a dragon from the bronze dragonflight, the ones who were in charge over time.
This rogue dragon had a plan to create an almost infinite number of alternate timelines with massive armies in each at his disposal. He planned to use Garrosh to start the first of these by taking him back to his homeworld of Draenor and planting him in charge over the other orcs there. At that time what you saw originally was where Garrosh's father, Grommash (Grom) Hellscream, the one who rejected the cup in the cinematic, took the blood of Mannoroth, the big demon in the cinematic. Originally this gave the orcs increased strength, aggressiveness, etc. But it also bound them to the demon, forcing them into a weird kind of servitude by keeping their bloodlust going. In this timeline though, Garrosh killed the dragon who brought him there and warned his father of what all took place after drinking the demon's blood.
Since it was an alternate timeline, it did not effect the original. Then Grom, at the behest of Garrosh, formed the clans into the Iron Horde, one that Garrosh believed could conquer anything since they weren't corrupted by the demons. Garrosh then had Grom create a new portal that would send them to not only to Azeroth's original timeline, but to the time Garrosh left from (guess you could say modern times). Garrosh's plan was to return to Azeroth and conquer it, thereby getting his revenge.

My take on the lore dump for this trailer...
First, the background and contents of the trailer itself:
The bald orc in the trailer is Garrosh Hellscream. He comes from our timeline Draenor, where that planet is shattered and broken and known as Outland. When we went to Outland in the Burning Crusade expansion, Garrosh was kind of a mopey loser because his father, Grommash Hellscream, was known as the orc warchief who led his people to drink the blood of the demon Mannoroth, causing them to be slaves to the burning legion. Garrosh learns that later on, Grommash became the good guy and killed Mannoroth, avenging his people, and so he stops being mopey and teams up with the Horde, coming back to Azeroth.
Fast forward to the Mists of Pandaria expansion. Warchief Thrall has left to go be a shaman, leaving Garrosh in charge of the Horde. Instead of being a mopey loser, now he's hyper arrogant and an orcish supremist. He causes war between the Horde and Alliance (well, more than there was already) and commits some pretty bad war crimes (literally nuking an Alliance city and corrupting the most sacred vale in Pandaria, and killing the High Chieftain of the Tauren race in a duel as a cherry on top), so the other non-orcish races of the Horde team up with the Alliance to overthrow him.
Prior to this trailer, Garrosh is broken out of prison by two dragons. One is the last remaining uncorrupted Black Dragon (all the rest are corrupted by the Old Gods, which are the C'thulhu creatures) who is primarily concerned with keeping Azeroth safe from the upcoming Burning Legion attack. The other is a Bronze Dragon who, like all of his race, can control time. The dragons send Garrosh through the Dark Portal, which is the portal that leads to Draenor/Outland, but the Bronze Dragon uses his magic to send him back in time as well, to the point in history where Grommash (Garrosh's father) made the orcs drink the blood of Mannoroth. The goal is to have Garrosh rally the orcish tribes to become a strong ally for Azeroth in the coming days.
Garrosh succeeds in the first part of this. We see in the trailer that, because of Garrosh's influence, Grommash (the orc with the long black hair) denies the blood of Mannoroth (big demon) and kills him. Gul'dan, the evil, manipulative warlock orc is locked away, and the orc tribes are united under Grommash. However, instead of going to ally with Azeroth, Garrosh has the orcs of Draenor go to CONQUER Azeroth. Because, you know, he's a jerk who commits war crimes. We see this in the final shot, where the orcs are constructing the Dark Portal (remember that in our present timeline the portal is done, but 35 years ago it hadn't been built yet).
Another thing to note is that Garrosh introduced war machines to the orcs here, like if someone went back in time and gave people today's guns. For example, the "Junkrat tire" is called in Iron Star, and is effectively a Junkrat tire that can crush armies and walls before blowing up.
Now, a synopsis of the expansion's events:
Honestly not much. The WoW team cut a lot of content and the expansion is widely regarded as a wasted opportunity. Warlords of Draenor was planned to have 3 major patches but only had 2... 1 of which was effectively half a patch and only expanded upon a system people were already lukewarm about.
Basically, the Horde works alongside the Frostwolf Clan of past-Draenor and the Alliance works alongside the Draenei of past-Draenor. We beat up a bunch of orcs, off most of the Warlords the expansion is named after, and eventually Thrall returns to face off against his former protege Garrosh. Thrall kills him in a morally ambiguous manner (using shamanistic magic in what's typically a melee duel). Gul'dan breaks out and calls upon his Burning Legion masters, who we beat up. Ironically, the final boss of the expansion is not an orc, but Archimonde, 3rd in command of the whole Legion and a demon who is dead in our present timeline.
Gul'dan still escapes through the Dark Portal back to our timeline. Again, this is ironic, since in our timeline Gul'dan fled from Outland to Azeroth and then died. This time, Gul'dan succeeds in starting the Burning Legion invasion of Azeroth (ya know, the one the Black Dragon was trying to gather allies for). This leads into the expansion titled Legion. Before you watch the trailer for that, watch the Harbingers series. They're a series of animated shorts about characters important to the story of the expansion.

Well, all the lore has been explained in comments, so i will only explain a few facts, first, yes its tecnically a what if escenario in this case the creation of the green orcs when they drink the blood of the pit lord, however they manage to create a portal to the main timeline of the game. Draenor in the main timeline its the same place where the events of Burning crusade take place, the demons with the enslaved orcs destroyed all the place in a ritual. Finally the time travel doesnt change the present, it only create an alternate future the online reason they came to the main timeline its because of the portal

The structure you saw at the end has appeared before... all the way back when you reacted to the Burning Crusade cinematic trailer. That lead you from Azeroth to the remnants known as Outland... what remains of the world the Orcs originally called home (and that the Draenei... the first being you saw in the Burning Crusade cinematic... colonized). The "Times change" line at the end shows that Warlords has taken a different path than what should have happened ("This is not our destiny")... the Orcs originally drank the blood of the demon and became slaves to the Burning Legion... now they plan to conquer in their own name... first their own world of Draenor... and then other worlds... including Azeroth.
You really should react to more than just the cinematic trailers for each expansion... there are a lot of other cinematics, shorts and extras that have been done that can give you a much broader look at what is happening. For Warlords, there is the Lords of War series... that does into detail on who the Warlords are... or were at the height of their power... from the perspective of one who fought them (someone you might recognize).

Ok lore Time, this one bit messy.
Real timeline - Grommash drinks the blood of demon Monoroth followed by all most all orcs. This lead orcs to corruption, blood lust ultimately fallen to slavery. After that orcs do many nasty things then invade Azorath our planet. This is the start of the world of Warcraft.
This timeline - Garrosh hellscream, son of Grommash. Travel back in time to stop his father from drinking blood. Stopping everything.
But ultimately he convinced His father to invade our timeline.
Draenor is the home World of orcs. Draenor have big lore history. In present time the planet is completely destroyed by accident.
Remaining floating land pieces together called outland in game. We travel there since Burning Crusade. That's where we enter thought green big portal.

Long story short WoD is about time traveling Orcs ... the son of Grommash, Garrosh went back in time to save his father and his people from being a slave to the Legion.. cause originally Grommash drank the blood of the Pit Lord Manneroth ( the dragon) and they became slaves... the thing being built at the end is the Dark Portal .. which leads Dreanor to Azeroth ....
Gul'dan the guy with the red eyes is pure evil there is no good in his soul.... he killed men/women and children for power
Dreanor is the home world of the Orcs ( its a planet ) and Dreanei ( even though they crash landed on the planet many years ago.)

so since you didnt watch the Patch 5.4 trailer and the siege orgrimmar ending cintematic ill explain it to you... the orc you saw that told Gul'dan "times change" is the former Warchief of the Horde, Garrosh Hellscream, i say former because the first video i wanted you tow atch shows that he was going wild crazy basically becoming a Hitler he was on a warmongering Rampage wanted his "TRUE HORDE" to be filled with nothing but Orcs saw as only Orcs being the best and dominant race above all, he did lots of warcrimes kicked out the other races of the Horde out of his "true horde" there was a whole Civil war where it ended up Garrosh losing and was being Held Trial for the world for his war crimes ... fast foward... durring the trial a certain Black dragon colaborated with a Bronze Dragon that wields the powers of time traveling, they broke Garrosh hellscream out into another Timeline 35 years into the past where the same events of his timeline were about to change The Orc you see with the Axe and refused to drink the green stuff which happens to be "Demon blood" was Garrosh's father, Grom Hellscream, in Garrosh's Timeline Grom Hellscream was the first to accept Gul'dan's "gift" and drank the Demon blood transforming them into blood thirsty green orcs that secretly binded the Orcs to become slaves and weapons to the Demons, in Garrosh's timeline the orcs drank the blood, and his father died a few years later... in this timeline you're seeing in the Trailer Garrosh changes the events that were supposed to happen.. stopping the orcs from Drinking the demon blood, saving his father from dieing.... he then assembles the orc Clans to form a new horde.. The Iron Horde as a brand new world army to build the Dark Portal in which to cross into Azeroth of Garrosh's time in his Universe to Invade and get payback for defeating Garrosh and rule over Azeroth .

Ok there's a lot of lore information in the comments already...
HOWEVER, to fully understand this one you'll have to start further back.
Pre-Cataclysm Thrall was leader of the Horde on Azeroth born just after the Orcs From what was left of Dreanor. Along with most of the Orc leaders and factions.
Cataclysm: Thrall answers the call of the Shaman group to help heal the planet. So, he appoints Garrosh Hellscream to be leader.
Mist of Pandaria: Garrosh is hell bent on destroying the Alliance. To the point of conducting various WAR CRIMES, trying to make a "true horde".
After his defeat and the destruction he caused in Pandaria he is held as a War Crininal to be tried and dealt with accordingly. Vol'gin a troll whom you'll see in a future cinematic tied to the Burning Legion Expansion is then Named Warchief of the Horde.
Garrosh tricks a Bronze Dragon flight member in to getting us the players to help him build a magical device that will transport him to a time in Dreanor's past before the Orcs were corrupted.
Guldan, an Orc who's body was plagued with weakness was transformed into a demon before all this. After which he killed his entire clan for casting his weak ass out.
As an agent of the demons he was task with producing an army out of the Orcs to attack Azeroth for the third(?) time.
Grom Hellscream (Garrosh's father) was the leader of his clan and drank the blood first. His followers and most of the leaders followed suit.
Garrosh with his knowledge and advanced technology convinces him it's a bad idea and to kill the Pitlord.
Afterwards he convinces Grom and the other leaders except one to become the Iron Horde with two purposes. 1. Build a gate to invade the Azeroth where he came from. 2. Wipe out the Dreanai who have sought shelter on Dreanor (they have been running ever since their leaders gave into the demons demands and destroyed their home world Argus).
    SPOILER ALERT
At some point during the campaign Thrall meets with Garrosh and challenges him to Mak'gora (a sacred battle to the death in Orc culture... it's also melee ONLY. Any use of magic or skills not considered honorable combat is considered dishonorable.)
Well... Thrall wins but at the cost of sacrificing his honor and connection to nature spirits, his shaman powers start fading. You see Thrall calls upon the earth to hold Garrosh in place and smite him with lightning turning Garrosh into a crispy corpse. There is a short cinematic for this I hope you all watch.
Flash forward a bit and Guldan is unleashing havoc in Dreanor. The forces of the Horde, Alliance, Iron Horde (that are still alive and not on Guldan's side), and the Dreanai who call this Dreanor home have teamed up to stop him. They succeed but only to have Guldan (who is technically dead in our timeline) to be flung through the twisting Nether to our Azeroth.
The thing is regardless of the timeline change and some of the other changes (there's a female Dreania amongst their ranks that in the main timeline is actually male) demons are the same one... so this Guldan is the same demon killed on Azeroth after the main timeline of these events but a long time ago before these alternate timeline events.
Enter the next Cinematic The Burning Legion Expansion.

Yeaaaah... About that... Try watching the prior cinematics of Garrosh(the guy saved the guy with the axe). The Orcs here are pretty fkn evil. I mean in the previous version they had the defense that the demons made them do it. Here? They still do most all of the fcked up stuff the demons made them do in the other universe. This kinda soiled the the orcs reputation, and called into question if they're not really an innately evil race(part of why a lot of ppl did not like this expansion. The original idea had potential. This? Pretty damning if you know the story).

Unfortunately, using these teaser cinematics to learn the lore of the Warcraft universe is like being given a torn-up corner of a grape popsicle wrapper and being asked to describe what the strawberry flavor tastes like. These are much more geared towards fanfare for the people who already know the lore, by tossing in a lot of fan service and curveballs that eventually get more fleshed out in each expansion as people play.

P.s I am generally against reaction channels overall. But there are a handful that I have no issue with. And the reasons are , 1. The person/people reacting, actually show signs of life and move/talk 😂, and not just upload whatever video is trending while making Steven hawking's seem hyperactive compared to the wax work models most channels have. But most importantly, just a sign of sincere interest and enthusiasm in making videos and the content that's being reacted to ( also linking and naming original content creator is as must) . Oh and after my mini rant, you guys are in that handful btw ✌😁. As I can see you all show genuine joy and love doing these vids together. Keep up the good work. ( oh just double check DB audio levels for the video being reacted to not being to much lower than the reaction audio, just so viewers dont turn up volume to max to here everything and then get a cardiac arrest when a Raid shadow legends Ad suddenly appears) 🇬🇧🇺🇸✌😘

Well Done 👍😁👍 ❤️🎍🍰🍵🎍🎊🍍🥥🍤🍻🍓🥝🌎😎😉❤️🙏🛑🥠. Keep up the good work. Next time it will be the Legion Cinematic, then Battle for Azeroth, and then the Newest one Shadowlands.
Warlords of Dreanor, is Alternate History scenario following the events of Mists of Pandaria. “Garosh Hellscream” goes back in time 35 years to the time before the Orcs drank the demon blood of Manaroth. (Ie That Demon Guy the Orcs were fighting). Now It’s time to deal with the multiple threats from Dreanor, a world separate from Azeroth, but only accessible via a warp gate. This will be technically the Third time the Orcs have invaded Azeroth. It’s up to everyone to stop ✋ them from invading. Good Luck 🍀 you’re gonna need it.
