the ratio of kids to adult at a party 5:2 ( It's really simple this is what you do ) Add together the ratio ( 5+2=7) Than the answer which is 7 multiply by the ratio example (7*5=35) and also ( 7*2=14) there are 35 kids and 14 adults
If you are confused... First Problem: 5+2=7 7x2=14 ( which is the number of adults) we now know that we have to multiply 7 by 5 to find the number of kids: 7x5=35 and if you are asked to write your answer as a ratio: 35:14 ----------- *Always write the ratio the way they began it in the problem: KIDS TO ADULTS. Second Problem: 5-3=2 ( to find the difference between adults and kids ) ( difference is 2 ) 3x5=15 ( to find total number ) 15-2=13 13x3= 39 (number of kids) 13x5=65 (number of adults) and if you are asked to write your answer as a ratio: 39:65 ----------- *Always write the ratio the way they began it in the problem: KIDS TO ADULTS. I hope that helped some of you. :)
In a bicycle shop, the ratio of tricycles to bicycles is 6:11. Calculate the amount of bicycles in the shop given that there are 90 tricycles in the shop.
Dude, you are making this harder than it is. 5kids = 2adults, xkids = 14Adults. solve for x? Cross multiply, you get 2x = 70, divide both sides by 2, you get x = 35.
Which 35 is correct as you suggested but kids are getting altogether which they’ll add 35 to guest and get that amount however kids are only adding the answer they get from cross multiplying instead of adding to get “altogether” teachers are now showing this way
I've watched like 6 videos and this help put the final thought process into motion. I wish all videos would explain the thought process of the last problem. This is where most of the confusion comes from

why did not you do same as you solve the first Q. i.e 5:2 means 5+2=7 then 7x5=35, 7x2=14. Is it not the same as first ? why can't we do 5+3=8, then 8x5=40, 8x3=21?

Cross multiply doesn’t work for these problems. Basically if is 39 cows: 26 pigs and you have 52 pigs how many animals together? Answer is 117. 26+26 is 52 so you know it’s 2 times you have to do 39 cows. Which is 78 then just add 56 and 117 is total animals.
@@sapphirecranfield38 So the child's units is 3 and the adult's units is 5. You want to find the difference, so the difference of units is 5-3=2 units. But as the problem says, the difference of adults and kids is 26. Since 2 units and 26 are both the difference of adults and kids, 1 unit equals 26 ➗ 2 = 13. You probably don't need this part, but the kids are 5 units and 1 unit equals 13, so there are 65 kids.
So i have a question If 700coins are shared among A,B and C. It is known that the ratio of A to B is 6:7, and the ratio of A to C is 2:5. Find the number of coins in C's share. So my problem is, I know A:B =6:7 , A:C= 2:5 But to find C's share out of 700, I need to find A:B:C, how do I calculate that?
You take A as X. B in that case would be 7/6X. C is 5/2X Now it's easy: X + 7/6X + 5/2X = 700 Makes X = 150. A = 150; B = 150 * (7/6); C = 150 * (5/2) A = 150, B = 175; C = 375.
Can somebody help me solve this? Nadeem had some local and foreign stamps. The ratio of the number of local stamps to foreign stamps was 3:4. She gave away 28 foreign stamps and the ratio of the number of local stamps to the number of foreign stamps became 9:8. How many local stamps did Nadeem have? How many foreign stamps did Nadeem have in the end? Pls. help, need to explain and practice my son about Ratio.
X = number of local stamps; Y = number of foreign stamps I.) X + 4/3X = Y II.) X + 8/9X = Y - 28 Now you put I.) into II.) to replace the Y: III.) X + 8/9X = (X + 4/3X) - 28 some minor calculation to get X: X + 8/9X = (X + 4/3X) - 28 |+28 X + 8/9X + 28 = X + 4/3 X | 4/3=12/9 => X + 8/9X + 28 = X + 12/9X |-1X - 8/9X 28 = 4/9X |*9/4 63 = X. This is the number of local stamps. 63 * 4/3 = 84. This is the number of foreign stamps in the beginning. 63:84 - this is the initial ratio of 3:4. 84 - 28 = 56. This is the number of foreign stamps in the end. The ratio is now 63:56 or 9:8.
Pls dont judge my working out First question 14 divide by 2 = 7 7 X 5 = 35 Secound question 3 : 5 the gap between 3 and 5 is 2 and there is 26 more then kids, 2 divided by 26 = 13, 13 X 3 = 39

That is just the easy part smh
Wow
So the answer is:
5+2=7
7×5=35
7×2=14
Omg thank you so much, much simpler👍😂
My man just made me remember that working out that my techer told me thx
If you are confused...
First Problem:
5+2=7
7x2=14 ( which is the number of adults)
we now know that we have to multiply 7 by 5 to find the number of kids:
7x5=35
and if you are asked to write your answer as a ratio:
35:14
-----------
*Always write the ratio the way they began it in the problem: KIDS TO ADULTS.
Second Problem:
5-3=2 ( to find the difference between adults and kids ) ( difference is 2 )
3x5=15 ( to find total number )
15-2=13
13x3= 39 (number of kids)
13x5=65 (number of adults)
and if you are asked to write your answer as a ratio:
39:65
-----------
*Always write the ratio the way they began it in the problem: KIDS TO ADULTS.
I hope that helped some of you. :)
This realy helped me thank you.

Cross multiply, you get 2x = 70, divide both sides by 2, you get x = 35.
i dont understand your theory
Yeah. Very easy to work it out that way. This guy is really confusing and rounding . Literally got confused for this simple question 🤦♂️
It's not for you but for kids
Which 35 is correct as you suggested but kids are getting altogether which they’ll add 35 to guest and get that amount however kids are only adding the answer they get from cross multiplying instead of adding to get “altogether” teachers are now showing this way
I got a question;
A barn is drawn 3/4 inch=4 feet. If the actual height of the barn is 59 feet, what is the height of the barn in the drawing?

Thanks for making the video it helped me in the exam room
Wow ...that's how you start a video !!! Why didn't I have someone like you 25 years ago
I've watched like 6 videos and this help put the final thought process into motion. I wish all videos would explain the thought process of the last problem. This is where most of the confusion comes from

Thank you so much, ive struggled with this for long, but you have made it simple for me to understand.
understand this ratio
doesn't his fingers hurt from all that writing on the board

shorter way is 26 divide by 2 =13
Than 13*3=39 kids
13*5 = 65 adults isn't that easy

why did not you do same as you solve the first Q. i.e 5:2 means 5+2=7 then 7x5=35, 7x2=14. Is it not the same as first ? why can't we do 5+3=8, then 8x5=40, 8x3=21?

On the first radio problem, how did he figure out he needed to multiple 2•5 & 2•2?
On the second ratio, how did he figure out 13? I’m lost.
Same 😌
@@vwyatt_16 am also lost l don't know how he realized 13
its pretty easy thanks for this video it helped me very much
U make it seem so easy
Very nice video I loved this method
me too
Just divide 5 by 2 which is 2.5 and multiple that for 14 to get 35

Its the little things that counts❤
Umm my first question would be where at
bro this has helped alot not gonna lie
Wait why did you do 2 times 2?
Ratio does it mean.Comparing 2 quantities.
5:2=kids to adults
How many (Addition)
5+2=7
So multiply by 2 quantities
7x5=35kids 7x2=14adults
3:5 = kids and adults.
Different or difference ( Subtraction).
3-5=2
3x5=15
So Subtract 15-2=13
And them multiply by 2 quantities.
13x3=39 KIDS.
13x5=65. 39:65 or 39:26
Subtract! 39-65 = 26 ADULTS
Proved helpful.... Cool method
This ratio cooler
you don't explained the problem!! you just worked it out like if we know!! very confusing!! please explain why u are doing each step!!! WHY!!!!
I see more than 5 videos but i can't understand when i see this video my all concepts are clear
I did the thinking of 2x7 is 14 then 5x7 is 35
hahah i didnt get it at all
Thank you very much! :)
this helped a lot thank you I have a test on Monday and I now have a better understanding of ratio
thank you so much 🥰

Very informative and the concept is clearly taught.
i dont under stand a think man how did u come up on dose numbers...pls explain it sir.
1. 3=5 - 2 MORE ADULTS
2. 6=10 - 4 MORE ADULTS
3. 9=15 - 6 MORE ADULTS
4. 12=20 - 8 MORE ADULTS
5. 15=25 - 10 MORE ADULTS
6. 18=30 - 12 MORE ADULTS
7. 21=35 - 14 MORE ADULTS
8. 24=40 - 16 MORE ADULTS
9. 27=45 - 18 MORE ADULTS
10. 30=50 - 20 MORE ADULLTS
11. 33=55 - 22 MORE ADULTS
12. 36=60 - 24 MORE ADULTS
13. 39=65 - 26 MORE ADULTS
SOME THINK IF YOU MULTIPLY BY 2 ( WHERE DID THE 2 COME FROM? WELL EVERY 3 KIDS THERE IS 5 ADULTS THAT IS 2 MOR EXTRA ADULTS) THAT WILL GIVE YOU 26 THAT IS 13 BECAUSE ( 13X2 = 26) now let’s go back to the original ratio which was 3:5 so let’s see 13 MULTIPLY by 3 gives me 39 KIDS and also do the same for the other part 13 multiply BY 5 GIVES ME 65 ADULTS THAT IS 26 MORE ADULTS ARE YOU STILL CONFUSED LETS SIMPLY 65-39= 26 I HOPE THAT HELPS
YAABKA1 I ain’t reading that
the second ratio confusing

shorter way is 26 divide by 2 =13
Than 13*3=39 kids
13*5 = 65 adults isn't that easy
the ratio of kids to adult at a party 5:2 ( It's really simple this is what you do ) Add together the ratio ( 5+2=7) Than the answer which is 7 multiply by the ratio example (7*5=35) and also ( 7*2=14) there are 35 kids and 14 adults
if there would be ratio 5:9 then which no. you use to dived?
I agree
This is alot of help
4:20 so confusing the dots :(
dots means time so 5.2 means 5x2 :)
that was a beautiful presentation, such a variety of techniques too! well done.
Cross multiply doesn’t work for these problems. Basically if
is 39 cows: 26 pigs and you have 52 pigs how many animals together? Answer is 117. 26+26 is 52 so you know it’s 2 times you have to do 39 cows. Which is 78 then just add 56 and 117 is total animals.
Thank you very much for the vedio
Great explanation!
Good Job buddy.. keep it up!
Where did 13 come from in the 2nd problem
That’s what I’m still trying to figure out!?!?!??
It’s the difference , so 5 minus 3 = 2units, which is 26, so one unit is 26 divided by 2 which equals 13 :)
Angela Yang I don't understand ;-;
Angela Yang that helped a lot tysm
2+2is 4 -1 thats 3 quick maths
U got that from a rappper
Skrrrrrraaaaa
pop pop pop haha
Thx 4 the help! (You saved me with my math homework!)
what if . the numbers where odd
Why dont u cross multiple
So i have a question
If 700coins are shared among A,B and C. It is known that the ratio of A to B is 6:7, and the ratio of A to C is 2:5. Find the number of coins in C's share.
So my problem is, I know
A:B =6:7 , A:C= 2:5
But to find C's share out of 700, I need to find A:B:C, how do I calculate that?
You take A as X. B in that case would be 7/6X. C is 5/2X
Now it's easy:
X + 7/6X + 5/2X = 700
Makes X = 150.
A = 150; B = 150 * (7/6); C = 150 * (5/2)
A = 150, B = 175; C = 375.
5:2
5
-*14
2
5*7-35
Who is the X in the second question
nobody noticed that they uploaded this right after Christmas 2011
I have test tommorow im nervous but this will help me out so goodluck me
i didnt understand from this method :(
*That reminds me of body parts*
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE 😭
1:01
IT TELLS US THAT THERE ARE 14 ADULTS AT THE PARTY
I don't understand the second one
I understood the first example but the second one yhoo i don't understand it completely
I'm pretty sure he is using a interactive whiteboard for these question
Can somebody help me solve this?
Nadeem had some local and foreign stamps. The ratio of the number of local stamps to foreign stamps was 3:4. She gave away 28 foreign stamps and the ratio of the number of local stamps to the number of foreign stamps became 9:8.
How many local stamps did Nadeem have?
How many foreign stamps did Nadeem have in the end?
Pls. help, need to explain and practice my son about Ratio.
X = number of local stamps; Y = number of foreign stamps
I.) X + 4/3X = Y
II.) X + 8/9X = Y - 28
Now you put I.) into II.) to replace the Y:
III.) X + 8/9X = (X + 4/3X) - 28
some minor calculation to get X:
X + 8/9X = (X + 4/3X) - 28 |+28
X + 8/9X + 28 = X + 4/3 X | 4/3=12/9
=> X + 8/9X + 28 = X + 12/9X |-1X - 8/9X
28 = 4/9X |*9/4
63 = X. This is the number of local stamps.
63 * 4/3 = 84. This is the number of foreign stamps in the beginning. 63:84 - this is the initial ratio of 3:4.
84 - 28 = 56. This is the number of foreign stamps in the end. The ratio is now 63:56 or 9:8.
i cannot understand
Read the lastest comment....
Why not just add the ratio then multipy the ratio?
I did not understand but now I do thanks
Pls dont judge my working out
First question 14 divide by 2 = 7
7 X 5 = 35
Secound question 3 : 5 the gap between 3 and 5 is 2 and there is 26 more then kids, 2 divided by 26 = 13, 13 X 3 = 39
What is that he's writting on?
Thank for your help 🙂
