Roll down testing is tough. 18 trials for 3 different body positions each got me 15 miles that day. Faster tires would be nice but as a wheel breaker and puncture champion, the tortoise usually wins. Aero matters more on the flats where I ride. No team car will ever follow me

Dear GCN, you keep confusing Cd and CdA. Cd is drag coefficient. CdA is drag coefficient times (frontal) area, which is air drag.

I followed through with the roll down testing on a disused railroad overpass. 18 trials each. Upright tops of bars control. Hands overlapped at stem, bent elbows 16% faster. Drops elbows bent 23% faster. Can't use drops all day so reserve lowest drag position for downhill against headwind. Or when getting hit by stong gusts with a headwind. Stem came up one spacer to make drops possible for longer periods. I'm glad if I can get faster by .1mph over an entire ride. It all adds up.

The sensor value the sensor knows from the power and wind data is the value of drag coefficient (Cd) and Area (A) already multiplied together into CdA, you would only need to know Area if you wanted just the drag coefficient on its own, which is not necessary for this application. Or to say it another way, it doesn't calculate drag coefficient and then multiply it by an approximate area to get CdA

Test the difference between riding on the aero bars and then riding on the aero bars with a shoulder shrug or turtleing..

Probably very low difference, but what about comparing sneakers (and normal pedals) with cycling shoes (and clipless pedals). Maybe more interesting, I would be interested what difference the hairs do, if any, as I am not making haircut frequently :-) (trying some wig, but not super crazy, something realistic to see the difference lets say in 5 to 10 cm difference in the hair length). And lastly, I would be interested to see what difference make to have the socks according to UCI and than breaking the UCI rules (lets say somewhere below the knees). Thanks!

Please do Spinning vs. Grinding. I've been curious about which is more aero for some time.

Do tubby vs svelte. Not in a Chris Hoy fat shaming way, but for science. I'm a bit hefty and have lost nearly couple of stone, and have a couple more to go to get back to my younger, racing days. It would be interesting to see the aero benefits over the normal climbing or sprinting benefits. I'm also envisioning some kind of scientific Ollie sumo suit.

How putting some wings on your helmet like the Flash, Ollie?

    1. Could you test Cda difference of having a rider behind you.
    2. Another one is the half illegal time trial. i.e. one forearm on the handlebar and the other on the hood. I find this comfortable for long periods.
    3. A fake baby bump type of thing to fill in the space around your chest, so the air doesn't get trapped like a parachute.
    4. Inserting a foam tube down your sock (back or front and back)to simulate a wing type structure, i.e. not a cylinder. A cooked sausage would be handy to stick down your sock and eat later.🤣

I think I could pull off that half legal TT position since I have 2 layers of 3mm tape on my bars! I may do roll down testing if I can ride that way. It may be faster in a cross wind depending on which fore arm is down.

Real world testing is logically superior to wind tunnels - wind tunnels blow one way only (particularly if you can't move the bike on a rotating mount), in the real world, wind changes direction, you get vortexes, wind from other angles etc

"While wind tunnels can be really useful, I'm a BIG FAN of real life testing outdoors." Really, Ollie? Trying to slip some punnery in there on us? Though we wouldn't notice, did you?
