      @xrated072 4 роки тому

      CycleCruza, I highly recommend the VCyclenut ECU flash. As for the forks, you might wanna take a look at the Andreani package. As far as the shock, chuck that shit, and pick your preferred aftermarket unit. Consider the Yosh, Graves, or GYTR exhaust. Those changes will transform that FZ. Additional changes would be S.S brakelines, and or brake pad compound. IT WILL BE AWESOME. No more jerky throttle because the injectors shut off, the bike will feel more planted, and you'll gain a nice amount of ponies too. Ride safe CC!!

    "On/Off" because Yamaha cuts fuel as soon as you decelerate then when you add throttle it jerks on. ECU flash is the only way to fix it. Its NOT because of ride by wire. Emissions man!

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 4 роки тому +2

      Every brand does. Even cars, trucks, SUVs, etc. do that. Except the weight, flywheel, big engines mask the effect. Bikes are very light so it shows up.

      So why was the world pissed off at Volkswagen calling it emission scandal when every motorcycle manufacturer does it?

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 4 роки тому +2

      @@expatbiker6598 That's not the same issue.
      The fuel cut is required by regulations when the throttle is fully closed in a coasting condition, or "engine braking" condition. In other words, release the throttle fully while slowing down, and the fuel injectors shut fully off. This is required by regulators of fuel injected gasoline systems.
      On motorcycles, the system quickly dries out after fuel is cut. Reapply throttle and a whole series of events occur before power reaches the rear wheel. All that delay, lash, snatch translates to on/off harshness. This was never an issue with carbureted motorcycles since there was always fuel entering the engine so long as there was always air flowing through the intake. The solution is an ECU flash which solves the fuel issue, and with throttle-by-wire bikes, the flash also recalibrates the electronic map which takes signals from the throttle grip and translates them to the throttle servo.

    • @brendonchilders3063
      @brendonchilders3063 4 роки тому +1

      The MT does it when you back off only part throttle. Not just closed off. So that's completely different. It makes for shitty throttle control and there's nothing that anyone can do about it except flash the ECU. Vcyclenut has a good reputation with the MT09

    Life is too short to compromise and settle for less, Cruz. You have to be EXCITED about the bike you're riding. From what I'm seeing and hearing, it doesn't measure up to your standards. Don't be too willing to lower your standards. Live and learn. Let the bike go... enjoy what you already have until the move is over,... and look for another one at your new home. It's always best to move with a minimal amount of stuff anyway. Or so says this young geezer who's been there, done it. :)

    Keep in mind Rebound is what controls the Pogo effect. 2nd and more over you have to Baseline the Suspension. If it isn't in range then buy the correct springs for your weight. You should be able to bounce the bike and the down stroke and up stroke on Suspension should take 1 second with a hard push down and release. The up stroke/release should come up with good motion. It should not come up and resettle. The front and rear should travel the Suspension eventually. Last steering dampening issue is more Suspension issues. Get the Suspension right then worry about a damper if it doesn't work out.
    Also this bike has been restricted from the orginal generation. So plenty of power is on tap. Yamaha detuned it to make it more manageable.

      @@CycleCruza I find this interesting. You are actually closer to my weight. I'm 157-164 without gear. But to brutally honest you should have Baselined it first. Most bikes are set for a person around 150-160lbs. The experience someone lighter or heavier then you won't be the same. On the Baseline when you get you correct sag numbers. That will be the same for everyone you have it set for. Example you could be safe 30mm front and 30 mm rear. Well you want to used the recommend Sag for any bike you ride. Then you have a fixed point to Judge from.
      Example if a rider who's 190lbs that bike will save 37mm in the rear and only 22 mm up front the complain it doesn't steer that well. Yet the rider at 135lbs on has 26mm safe front and rear and say it's too Stiff. If both riders set identical or similar Sag numbers you experience as it pertains to Suspension geometry for stability, turn-in response and bump absorption will be very similar if not identical and on an even playing field.
      Can't wait for more reviews.
      See ya.

      Most electronically operated throttles have a better response than any human could ever notice. The reason cable throttles feel more responsive is that they're non-linear, you get a steep curve in the first 50% and then the rest is a much shallower curve. I'm not very good at explaining, but there's a good Engineering Explained video on it. So when you get on an electronic bike after being on a cable operated one, it can feel like the throttle is "lazy" and too sensitive up high.

    Technically it's an 850cc but the bike does make good power, but of course a 1000cc will be noticeably more powerful in every gear. I've owned an R1 and currently own an XSR900. They both have their place, depending on what type of riding you do. The R1 will slay the highway of course and long straights. This bike does just fine on the highway, but if you are a fast passer, you will have to drop a couple gears. This bike really shines around town and the twisties for being light-weight, having quick acceleration at slow speeds, and having wide bars making it super easy to make turns.

Tighten up the suspension a bit using the adjusters or an aftermarket shock and you should be good to go on any public road. This bike wasn't designed to be razor sharp track tool and those who can take advantage of such a tool know this and don't bother riding that hard on the street anyway. The MT-09 will always be a winner in the budget hooligan bike category in my book. 99% of street riders need this bike more than they actually need a full blown superbike or supersport if only for the practical reasons.

    I am aware that the right fat is but an ordinary book to ride a motorcycle, it doesn't matter whether I get two strange looks.
    Have already done a few laps with a bike and get along well and is also super fun
    Was that what you say? Was for a motorcycle that best suits itself? and what is it called I heard when buying?

    Is the speedometer difficult to read? It looks smaller than your phone, but maybe that’s the camera angle.

    I don't know man, I don't think this is the bike for you. You should've just gotten a gixxer 750 like I have. It's the perfect street super sport bike in my opinion. I'd only get the gixxer 1000 if I track all the time, which I don't

      That would have been a cool bike for his channel. How many motorcycle vloggers use a VMax for their daily? Hummm . . .

    @CycleCruza Ecu reflash shutting off top speed limiter opens these bikes up. This bike is limited to 132mph and you can hit that in 4th gear. My 2019 yamaha mt 09 has toce performance ecu reflash and full toce exhaust with sprint air filter and have hit 155mph gps in full tuck behind my new MRA racing windscreen. Also these bikes make there best power from 7k rpm and up when your on the highway in 6th at normal speed limit speeds its not going to pull that hard. Downshift to 5th much better. Downshift to 4th awesome passing power. Downshift to 3rd and the wheel will loft off the pavement at 70mph

    Glad you finally got a bike! Enjoy it... btw everything you complained on this video the z900 has it and more! More hp, more torque, better suspension, roll on 6 gear is nice and strong! And cheaper

      Where you find the z900 cheaper? When I bought my 19' MT09 last July I paid $6400 on year end clearance making way for 2020 models and the 19' z900 was just shy of $10k. Had it been 2k cheaper it would be in my garage.

      @@RobertOrtiz1015 damn I wouldve went that route myself had it been that price. I'm here on the east coast, Washington DC/Maryland/Virginia area. I'm still pretty happy with the mt09 it just definitely has its shortcomings. Thinking of adding a steering stabilizer this weekend the GPR V4 and have plans for the akrapovic titanium exhaust by the end of the month. I love the way the triple sounds but with its stock exhaust its damn near silent.

      Patrick Cavanaugh the tripple does sound bad ass and it has great character! Z900 sounds like any other 4 cyl Japanese bike! I have some sound clips on my channel if you wanna check it out! Mu buddy has the mt09 and he loves it so you got a great bike!
      I am super bias with my z hahaha...

    You drive a Lexus which competes against Cadillac. There is a difference between a Chevy, a Cadillac, and your Lexus. Cadillac is not quite there against the Europeans. Good contrast with Bikes for the masses(Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki) and exclusive European stuff. Desirability over reliability. Harley is in the Cadillac/Lexus category. You expect nice equipment from the factory with Cadillac/Lexus. Like I said, do not perform too many mods on a depreciating asset.

    I think the FZ09 is near a perfect bike . Wheelie monster and perfect power band . I like a bike you can twist the throttle and not lose your license if you get caught . I just wish they did away with these silly rider modes. Power mode c quarter throttle : B half throttle A: full throttle !! I really dont fly by wire either . I prefer a cable .
