You took all the trouble and expense to go out and film all these scenes for us to enjoy for free - that was very kind of you and is greatly appreciated - thank you very much - and also thank you Mr Stanier !
Excellent compilation. No need for apologies,Stephen. Your work is superb,as always, whether from DVDs or otherwise. This is a great video,and,46233 has been one of my favourites for a long time,no matter what livery she is "dressed" in. Great work.
So many lovely shots of the Duchess in full cry Steve making for an excellent compilation. As we've said previously, a great pity we won't see as much of her up north this year
A great locomotive set amongst beautiful scenery, and well captured. What more could a viewer ask for :) At 2.10 I'll swear I heard the words: 'Get down Shep!'
Thanks Anthony , might not be the same on Shap or the S&C without 46233 in her new Maroon working hard if she is going to be down South most of the time .
Great video. We will miss her up north, apparently she will be spending more of her time on Southall and VT based charters. Nice to see a complication of 6233 where she belongs
VERY GOOD CAMERA WORK IN WIDE ANGLE, ZOOM WELL USED, I DO THINK IT SLOWS THE REAL SPEED OF THE DUCHESS, LIKE THE HORSE IN THE FIELD I THINK I WAS THERE WHEN YOU SHOT IT, PAN SHOT IN THE SNOW AT THE END VERY VERY GOOD,
Excellent compilation Steve, you can see that she fares better over the S&C than she does up Shap, though I guess that's down to the PRCLT not wanting her flogged. A shame as she really should be romping up Shap if unleashed a bit more !
Fantastic photography, but like the others ay, it is a shame she is hardly ever given her head. She is regularly outperformed by Scots Guardsman and Galatea on Shap. The engine has never performed as well as Hamilton. It was different when they ran Maggie Rose, 48151, and the Standard tanks. They used to thrash the living daylights out of them. I remember on one run with the 8f, in 1989 48151 reached some highly illegal speeds for an 8f! The run is in mainline 89 and coming down through Lazonby the rods are a blur.
Lovely compilation Steve, shame that once repainted trips up north will be few and far between. Was hoping to film her in LMS Maroon which looks unlikely now. Regards JamesandPeter
Fabulous Thank You. LMS 46233 Duchess of Sutherland was my Father's favourite steam locomotive.

Superbly captured and presented Stephen, an excellent portrayal of Glorious steam and beautiful engines thankyou .👍x😊

One of my objectives in life is to see the Duchess of Sutherland climb Shap. Beautiful scenes, enjoyed this a lot. :)
Fabulous selection, in particular the first two distant shots with the roads starting 23.52
A wonderful compilation of this magnificent machine Steve, a very enjoyable watch.....Bob
Thanks Bob , just a shame we might not see her as much but I believe she is on the list for the Waverley tours on the S&C .
A beautiful locomotive the Duchess is,your cinematography does her proud Stephen :)
Thanks for the very kind comment as it's much appreciated . Regards Steve
Thank you, Steve, for a truly fabulous video.
Thank you Andy , my pleasure and I'm pleased you enjoyed the action . Steve

Thanks Austin , can't imagine Shap being the same without the chatter of a Duchess in full flight .
A great locomotive set amongst beautiful scenery, and well captured. What more could a viewer ask for :) At 2.10 I'll swear I heard the words: 'Get down Shep!'
Thanks Brian , the dog was a star as it always barked at steam hence I did not film at Oxenholme that often LOL .
,Truly excellent compilation of this superb loco in action. Ok I'm biased cos it's my favourite engine. Well done Steve, top job😁😁
Thanks Anthony , might not be the same on Shap or the S&C without 46233 in her new Maroon working hard if she is going to be down South most of the time .
Steve, An enjoyable compilation especially good in the quieter January period for steam. Regards, John
Cheers John , next one for me will be the Jubilee on the 27th over Shap . Regards Steve
Very good show, Steve. I wish I had as many clips of the Duchess ! Good to see some old stuff when the new is a long time coming . . .
Thanks Alan , I did have a lot more footage but decided against adding it all . Regards Steve
Another Lovely Video Steve! - I really do enjoy your Steam Video's listed - Keep up the fantastic work!!
Thanks for the very kind words as they are very welcome and I'm pleased you like my stuff. Steve

That's a shame as it won't be the same up North without a Duchess .

Thanks Brian , not often I use the zoom now as it can wobble the camera if you touch it .

Thanks Liam , the power is there to be honest so a shame the don't let her work harder .
Well - no upper limit was ever found for the Duchess' front end. The only limit is the stamina of the fireman!

Thanks James & Peter , Shap or the S&C won't be the same without a Duchess working hard .
Where is the train at 16:36? Great shots. Love the semaphore sticks.
Thanks Edmund , it’s called Blea Moor just after the train comes over Ribblehead Viaduct near Ingleton .
