My coworker recommended your channel to me po Teacher Kaye. Thank you so much for making these resources available for free! Although I am not yet a parent, I do look after my nephew. When I ask someone to look after him the majority of the time because I work, we find it tough. He is a four-year-old boy who constantly cries and screams. What suggestions do you have to get through this? Super thank u in advance
Welcome to our community, Dawn, thanks for being here! ✨ For crying and screaming, we usually start with investigating his triggers. Also, how often does it occur? If it is constant like you say, this is concerning, and may be a sign of discomfort / sensory issues? See more here: Stimming ua-cam.com/video/tLRSkxXxusM/v-deo.html Once you've observed with this perspective in mind and don't think it's a sensory issue, my next question is how much screen time does the child get daily? If the child has screen/gadget exposure, stop for an experimental period of at least 2 weeks, and observe for changes or improvement in behavior. No matter how short the time spent watching, no matter the content (whether we think it’s educational or not), if a child is already delayed or showing atypical behaviors, best to remove the factors that could be contributing to it. See explanation of the effects of screen time to baby brains here: ua-cam.com/video/OmZvmt-6Zug/v-deo.html See signs of screen addiction here (this includes moodiness, meltdowns, etc): instagram.com/p/CRJYfz7j_wq/ Hope you can check those our first and let me know your thoughts! ✨
@@TeacherKayeTalks Hi, Teacher Kaye. I've watched your videos and they really gave me enlightenment on how to address this issue. If he's with my aunt/dad on weekdays or straight two weeks, he has only one hour or less screen time a day (TV only), because I also ask them to avoid giving him the phone, sometimes none at all because he is busy playing with other kids, on the contrary when he is with me he spends around 2-3 hours a day playing and watching. To give you a little background, when my nephew was a year and a half old, he began growing up with me. As a result, he regarded me as his biological mother. Napansin ko na po what triggers him most is when I leave him with my aunt/dad (in another house) to look after him while I'm away, it causes him to wail, scream, 'Mama,' and even yank my hair and hug me so tightly. We have been doing this for months already. However, I try to see him at least every weekend, and when I return him to my aunt/dad, it will be the same. He has a different behavior when I am not around and when I am present, he likes to get my attention, he wants me to feed and play with him, he doesn't use the toilet to poop but, he already knows how to, I have observed as well, that when he is with me, most of the time he asks to use my cellphone if I don't give him, he'll start to cry and scream again, on the other hand when he is around my aunt/dad, he doesn't ask for it (hindi po siya nag-iiyak or nasigaw kapag walang cellphone or something to watch)They said he behaves well and does things independently. I know he is taken care of with my aunt/dad, having these issues. Is this a sign of separation anxiety po? I am very worried when he starts formal schooling na po. I know he misses me and I do, too, especially when I am away. I have tried several ways to address this problem, ma'am. I am not his mother, and I haven't been a mother, but, I am trying to become since he doesn't have one. ❤️ Thank you so much po, Teacher Kaye :)
Sana napanuod ko agad to.. sana ay di pa too late.
Hello Kaixin! Ah and ih are common cooing sounds, and "ma" (dahil sa may consonant na siya) ay babbling na. Wala na po bang ibang sounds, like ba or pa or ta, etc? GOOD JOB po sa pagtanggal ng screen time. Ngayong alam po nating delayed siya, dapat po talaga 0 screen time muna until we see na dumadami yung 1-word utterances nya to start with. Hi Priya! Have you watched this video yet? Baby Sounds ua-cam.com/video/mT3iKlDXxsc/v-deo.html It shows the natural sound acquisition patterns in babies, and how we can encourage them to make more sounds! I also want to ask -- is the child feeding okay? Is there excessive drooling, or does the child often choke on milk? Has the child started on solids? These are important to note as the development of other sounds accompany these changes in their diet, body stability, mobility of articulators (lips, tongue, etc.) You may also want to get the child's hearing checked. Watch here to do a primary check at home, and if you have suspicions, please get a hearing test. Even if they pass newborn hearing screening test, hearing impairment can happen any time. Hope these help you moving forward! ✨
hi teacher kaye. my 14 month old seems to be always distracted even with a few toys. it's just hard to get his attention for longer periods. is it okay to be persistent? even if they get irritated if I try this too much on him if he doesn't respond.
Hi! 1st thing we want to find out is: what interests him? It's natural not to like some toys and to prefer others, and maybe we haven't presented him with something he really wants. Next, try 1 toy at a time, then it's really HOW you make the toy fun. Show different ways of playing with it: like kung blocks, stacking, or building tracks for his cars to go through, or building things he might recognize (ooh a robot!), or even getting a box and shooting the blocks inside, or pretend they're food for your dolls. It's okay to persist a little, but when he starts to show irritation, then it stops being fun and defeats the purpose of PLAY 🥳 In your other comment, I also gave you tips already, hope you can try those out too and let me know! ✨

Hello, This technique is something that we do while we're doing other things, meaning hindi siya lesson in itself. So don't expect too much na may gagawin siyang iba, kasi ikaw nga ang gumagaya sa kanya, just to give baby an idea na pinakikiggan mo ang attempts nya. Also, if this is your first time trying it, syempre maninibago si baby "ano kaya ginagawa ni mama?" Give it time, just try to include it every day sa mga gawain ninyo. Kung kahit ibang sounds other than "mmm" wala pa, okay din itong i-try niyo and practice: ua-cam.com/video/mT3iKlDXxsc/v-deo.html Focus on getting her to do /m/ /b/ /p/ sounds, yan ang mga nauunang sounds. ua-cam.com/video/0wb5gyoGeXs/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/UN4stu8lSwA/v-deo.html

Hello, Mayca! Kung 5 years old na sya, at wala pa ring sounds or words, ito mga payo ko:

My coworker recommended your channel to me po Teacher Kaye. Thank you so much for making these resources available for free! Although I am not yet a parent, I do look after my nephew. When I ask someone to look after him the majority of the time because I work, we find it tough. He is a four-year-old boy who constantly cries and screams. What suggestions do you have to get through this? Super thank u in advance
Welcome to our community, Dawn, thanks for being here! ✨
For crying and screaming, we usually start with investigating his triggers. Also, how often does it occur? If it is constant like you say, this is concerning, and may be a sign of discomfort / sensory issues? See more here:
Stimming ua-cam.com/video/tLRSkxXxusM/v-deo.html
Once you've observed with this perspective in mind and don't think it's a sensory issue, my next question is how much screen time does the child get daily?
If the child has screen/gadget exposure, stop for an experimental period of at least 2 weeks, and observe for changes or improvement in behavior.
No matter how short the time spent watching, no matter the content (whether we think it’s educational or not), if a child is already delayed or showing atypical behaviors, best to remove the factors that could be contributing to it. See explanation of the effects of screen time to baby brains here:
ua-cam.com/video/OmZvmt-6Zug/v-deo.html

@@TeacherKayeTalksthank you so much I will really get back to you. I am so happy about these recommendations. I'll surely watch all you have provided

Tignan dito:
instagram.com/p/CncCSYPvDZg/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Hello Kaixin! Ah and ih are common cooing sounds, and "ma" (dahil sa may consonant na siya) ay babbling na. Wala na po bang ibang sounds, like ba or pa or ta, etc?
If none, this video might help, para dumami ang sound exploration ni baby:
episode 5 on turning sounds to words ua-cam.com/video/mT3iKlDXxsc/v-deo.html
What’s a Word ua-cam.com/video/V1kmFVr9Ugk/v-deo.html

Hi Priya!
Have you watched this video yet?
Baby Sounds ua-cam.com/video/mT3iKlDXxsc/v-deo.html
It shows the natural sound acquisition patterns in babies, and how we can encourage them to make more sounds!
I also want to ask -- is the child feeding okay? Is there excessive drooling, or does the child often choke on milk? Has the child started on solids? These are important to note as the development of other sounds accompany these changes in their diet, body stability, mobility of articulators (lips, tongue, etc.)
You may also want to get the child's hearing checked.
It's okay to persist a little, but when he starts to show irritation, then it stops being fun and defeats the purpose of PLAY 🥳
In your other comment, I also gave you tips already, hope you can try those out too and let me know! ✨

Hello,
This technique is something that we do while we're doing other things, meaning hindi siya lesson in itself.
Kung kahit ibang sounds other than "mmm" wala pa, okay din itong i-try niyo and practice:
ua-cam.com/video/mT3iKlDXxsc/v-deo.html
Focus on getting her to do /m/ /b/ /p/ sounds, yan ang mga nauunang sounds.
