OSU vs. Texas could be the most important or biggest game of the CFP. It matters who wins the other side.
It’s not that amazing of a story. We’ve been winning football games for many decades here in Tempe. It’s just been a couple of years, because we were duped into letting Ray Anderson (who was Herm Edwards’ agent during his NFL career) hire him as our head coach. All of this Cinderella story stuff isn’t true. We are winning because we’ve soundly out-hit every team we’ve played. Texas may win, but they are going to be hit harder than they’ve been hit in a while.
Sark and Texas players have a pressure on them that ASU doesn't have. ASU is playing with house money and they are confident, loose and hot. Gonna be a fun game to watch.
Both teams want to advance and need to beat the other team to do so. Since reaching the playoff is an honor and not a given for any team, why should ASU feel any less pressure than Texas to win?
Reminds me of Tin Cup "you think i worry about the endorsements, or who I'm playing , it's just golf" This is a game between kids 18-22 years old, and ik our coach has preached not to worry about the logo, play the game, this game, if we give Texas our best ASU can and will win. Texas wins because their offensive and defensive lines are just much better than their ASU counterparts. Texas' run defense is underrated. When they need to stop someone, they usually do. Georgia is the one Achilles hell of Texas' lines. This game should be similar to the Clemson game. If Texas can play a much better 3rd quarter, then it will get out of hand. ASU will get some yards at times, but I do not see them getting in the end zone that often. Texas should be able to run the ball almost at will against ASU and if they have a good running game then the passing game will be even easier. I really do not see ASU stopping either. I see Texas maybe putting a spy on Skatebo but that is about it. Texas defense is good enough to play regular defense and still shut down ASU enough. They do not need 8 in the box to stop the run or playing nickel all the time to stop the pass. ISU was horrible at run defense. Texas is very good at both run and pass defense. And most importantly Texas is #2 in scoring defense.
As a Georgia fan this will be interesting game. I believe Asu better than tcu of 2022 Would they beat Indiana maybe, or Penn state toss up. Asu over Clemson would've been a fluke. Asu over Texas doubtful yet anything could happen..go Georgia.
