For anyone who did this and got a white image. You want crop/size the jpg to 128x128 PRIOR to converting it to a bmp. The resulting file should be very small. Mine was ~48kb. Make sure you give it one of the allowed file names, ex: m2cbs1.bmp
@@asapxchino start with a jpg file. If that file is not 128px X 128px, you need to use any image editor tool to crop/resize it to 128px width 128px height. Then convert the jpg file to a bmp file. (Search the net for "JPG to BMP online converter) and use whatever is free. The resulting file needs to be named "m2bsc1.bmp", if it's not then right click and rename it. Move/copy the file to a usb drive. Then follow the steps in the video.
For those who may still be having issues with this here is a few things that may help as I also had issues at first uploading a custom boot up screen. 1 on your flash drive weather it be the one that comes in the box or a other brand, format your flash drive to default settings. 2: Use the link listed in the manual you can find on the dye website and name the file one of the custom boot up screens ex: m2cbs1.bmp 3: photo size should be 128 x 128 4: follow the steps on the video and you should not run into issues. Hope this may help anyone with a m2 or m3!
they lowerd the recoil of the gun a lot shoots super smooth sounds almost silent it shoots smoother/better than a luxe for me the trigger is amazing the back grip is like a dye nt10 super thin the made the front one thiner to.My opinion its a whole other marker if you are considering to get one highly recommended.I hope i helped you whit your question.
+winfried rudel Thanks for the reply. It's good to hear the grips are like the NT's because they are by far my favourite. I am looking to get one when my bank account allows it haha. They don't have any in stock yet where I live, so trying one is going to be a waiting game.
if somebody is using this information in 2022, please note that the refered converter in minute 0:13 didn't work for me. I used every information but the update was always skipping. After I tried a different converter, it just worked fine for me.
@@lx-dismal Yes. Look through the manual it has to be saved as "MBSC 1" or whatever the name of the file is on the marker. In other words whatever screen slot you are uploading it to, you need to name the picture file you are uploading to match that slot. I dont have the manual here with me right now. Basically the name can be a custom name it has to be that MBSC.1 MSBC.2 or MSBC.3. My memory on the text for "MSBC" might be off. If that doesnt make sense hit me up.
You have to name the image after the slot you are going to make it fill. I.E Image name on your PC should be "m2sbc1" Then when you attach the drive to the update cable and power on the marker you can select m2sbc1 out of the menu. It will have m2sbc1, m2sbc2 and m2scb3. The gun wont take the image unless you name the actual file one of those. Whatever one you do name make sure you select the same one when you get to that point!

Your image has to be .bmp format in 128 X 128 pixels, for those of you who it's not working properly for.
Ive done this and it still goes back to the Upgrade cable connected screen no software found after I go through the steps.
