Kill them were you find them). • Only surah which does not begins with bismillah, bcz the surah was revealed late and the sahaba had a confusion whether it was a separate surah or a part of surah Anfal. • Another interpretation is that this surah deals with the disassociation with the pagans of Arabia. • Begins by announcing that after 4 months, the pagans should leave macca. • Either accept Islam or leave the holy sanctity. • V.11. if the repent and accept Islam they are your brothers. • If they refuse allow them four months. • After that four months (v.5) kill them were ever you find them. • The verse was not actually applied. • V.6 if any one of the idol worshipper ask you protection, protect them and allow them to leave to a safe place. • V.17-22 the sacred masjid al haram, it’s not befitting those who are idolaters take care of this holy masjid, it is only the one who believe in Allah and last day. • V.24. The battle of hunayn, is mentioned. • The battle of hunayn took place after the conquest of macca. • Muslims were about 12,000+ • The Muslims thought that they would easily win the battle, but the tribes of hawaz and thakeef set up a trap and the Muslims fell towards it later the prophet ﷺ called them back and Muslims won the battle. • Allah reference this battle in this verse. • Prophet ﷺ mandated all able male adults to participate in this war, many hypocrites turned away and many verses is regarding the hypocrites. • Allah will help the prophet, Allah will help the religion, Allah don’t need us we need Allah. • V.75-77. and among them are those who made a covenant with Allah, [saying], "If He should give us from His bounty, we will surely spend in charity, and we will surely be among the righteous." And when wealth was given to them they became stingy. • Generosity is in the heart not in the wealth. • V.79. the sahaba gave whatever possible (some gave even as small as dates which was possible by them), the hypocrites who didn’t spend any thing in charity ridiculed them, so Allah says, “Those who criticize the contributors among the believers concerning [their] charities and [criticize] the ones who find nothing [to spend] except their effort, so they ridicule them - Allah will ridicule them, and they will have a painful punishment.” • To always find fault in others action is a type of hypocrisy. • Story of ka’ab ibn maalik and 3 others, gave a false excuse and didn’t participate in the battle and when the people returned after the batlle the hypocrite added to their lies but ka’ab ibn maalik pleaded guilty and asked for forgiveness. ka’ab ibn maalik was boycotted for 50 days and Allah revealed v.118. And [He also forgave] the three who were left alone [i.e., boycotted, and then regretted their error] to the point that the earth closed in on them in spite of its vastness and their souls confined [i.e., anguished] them and they were certain that there is no refuge from Allah except in Him. Then He turned to them so they could repent. Indeed, Allah is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful. • Honesty with Allah saved them. • V.111-112. Description of believers. v.111Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Quran. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment. • V.112. [Such believers are] the repentant, the worshippers, the praisers [of Allah], the travelers [for His cause], those who bow and prostrate [in prayer], those who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and those who observe the limits [set by] Allah. And give good tidings to the believers. • V.91-93. the genuinely unable ones who couldn’t attend the battle Allah will reward them. • Aim the high. • V.107-110. Story of masjid ad-dhirar (masjid of harm/mischief/evil) • In the 9th year of hijra, the hypocrites and their leader (adbullah bin ubbay ibn salool) planned to open a masjid away from the prophet ﷺ masjid to turn people away from the prophet ﷺ towards him. • He (ibn salool) didn’t tell his plan out and he invited the prophet ﷺ to inaugurate the masjid so he personally could gain some power over people and create disunity among people. • So Allah revealed verses regarding this masjid and called it masjid ad-dhirar (masjid of harm/mischief/evil) and told the prophet ﷺ not to go there. • Allah speaks about masjid quba indirectly v.109. • People using religion for political benefits and evil. • V.60. the 8 categories of zakat. • V.36. the number of months is twelve and four are sacred. • The most optimistic verse of the Quran. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. • V.122. a group of people should remain behind to get knowledge so they could educate the rest. “And it is not for the believers to go forth [to battle] all at once. For there should separate from every division of them a group [remaining] to obtain understanding in the religion and warn [i.e., advise] their people when they return to them that they might be cautious.” • V.128-129. Description of prophet ﷺ. There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you [i.e., your guidance] and to the believers is kind and merciful. V.129. But if they turn away, [O Muhammad], say, "Sufficient for me is Allah; there is no deity except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne." pdf link for above notes : drive.google.com/open?id=1Y-5QwzEMJOPYUz8a10sYhyON--Ep4_n5 folder link with all previous notes : drive.google.com/open?id=1QFY0lU7lm6OLfVjKTbn6obX3s06pp9x7 REMEMBER ME IN YOU PRAYERS.
Assalamualaikum Jazakalah khair I became Muslim in 1971 when I was 18 years old. Because I am a native English speaker and not proficient in Arabic, I have never been able to benefit from the objective of the tarawih prayers, i.e., reviewing The Quran in prayer. In addition, even though I have always intended to read the whole of Quran in English during Ramadan, I never accomplished that. Furthermore, due to health issues, I have not been able to fast for the last few years. So, I want you to know, dear Sheikh, that, this year, for the first time in my whole Muslim life, from your talks, in lieu of tarawih, I am finally getting access to The Quran during Ramadan (recognizing that we still should make tahajah prayers - another thing I cannot do, physically, due to health problems). So, please know, from my experience of your talks, that your choice to give these talks has been valuable in the extreme, at least for me. And, if someone wants to criticize me or judge me harshly for my past failings, I accept their criticism, and I pray Allah accepts my service, no matter how small. And, I want them to know that I think Allah has accepted it, though small, because He has given me 4 children and 22 grandchildren who are devote Muslims, so much so that many of them have become haters and scholars. So, we should never under estimate the value of even a little ibadah... and the value of a halal novel idea ... and may Allah accept from all of us! Bismillah!
Alhamdulillah...as you heard from Dr. Qadhi, we are all sinners since our father Adam peace upon him...in this sorah...and those who bleed guilty to Allah, have done good and bad ...Allah is the most merciful.
Alhumdulillah Sheikh for this series. I didnt come across it 3 years ago when it was originally done but this year Alhudulillah i have found solace and peace in these. I have every evening looked forward to reciting the whole surah and them coming here and listening to the tafseer. Its connected me better to what Im reading daily. Please make dua for me that I connect much more deeper to the quran. As Arabic is not my language and even though i can read the quran I have a longing for the quran to connect with me. I long to be fluent in Arabic and even though i try i just cant seem to learn it to the extent where when i read the quran I know what im reading but Alhumdulillah it is my peace and comfort regardless.
Salam Sheikh/Dr Yasir Qadhi, may Allah Ta’ala sustain your energy and reward you immensely without a limit for this valuable work you are engaged in this blessed month of Ramadan.
Alhamdulillah. Allahumma Salli Ala Muhammad, May the peace and blessings upon our Beloved Prophet (SAW) and his Ummah. I hope through this lecture we are able to realise on how our Prophet (SAW) loves his Ummah. He kept his Dua for his Ummah. It made me cry on how he loves us! Truly, he is an amazing and perfect role model. Why, sometimes we studied the life of famous people not realizing that his Seerah is the best to be studied. May Allah (SWT) grant us to see our prophet on the Day of Judgment and be with him in Jannah. May Allah (SWT) increase our Iman. JazakAllah Khairan Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi.

24:10 it is the Battle of Badr, which is mention in the Surah Ale-Imran, verse 123.
Surah TAubah talks explicitly about groups of people,,, something we study at universities and jobs
Salam great appreciated brothers but why do you start this surah Tawbah by bismilLaalhi Rahmani Raheem?
I meant in the recitation of Sheikh Sajjad at the beginning of the video
Question Ya sheikh, any reason the Qari recited 'Bismillah' in beginning? Since, Surah Tauba does not start with Bismillah. thanks
Write to him on twitter#YQGEMS
Asalaam Alaykum brothers and sisters in Iman
IN SHAA ALLAH if you'll get the answer or any one has it PLEASE may he/she put it down for us all
BUT Ì THINK IF HE COULD MAKE IT(THE BASMALAH)AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SURAH I TOO COULD VOLTUER THAT HE HAS MADE A MISTAKE BUT IT IS AT THE LAST END AYAHS I THINK NOTHING IS WRONG......THOUGH TO MY KNOWLEDGE WHAT IS ALLOWED IS THE ISTIADHAH TOO WHEN ONE BEGINS AN AYAH AT THE MIDDLE OF A SURAH
والله أعلم
وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته
@Akhy Seguya Hassan
He didn't start from the beginning.
Assalamualaikum brother ,
How many sejdah we need to do after...sejdah telawat (1 or 2 ). Please explain us the procedure .
Salam Dr YQ can you please tell if the last verse 129 is included in the Quran if we refer to Dr Rashad Khalifa. May be You can elaborate on that in another preach inshaAllah!
See Dr Rashad other interpretation of why the Surah is not starting by BismilLaah Rahmani Rahim
Amazing recitation by the Qari Hafiz Sajjad Gul. But sometimes the background is so busy that it cannot be read. It's good to have a live backdrop but not at the cost of legibility of the text. . Would also like to have the entire Quran recitation in this format if possible Insha Allah. Very useful for those who are trying to learn the meaning of the Quran especially with the summary provided by Sheikh Yasir Qadhi

"In reality it is only 2,5 % and 30 min worship of your day and you are in Paradise." What do you relly think one Sahaba would do to you if he met you and you told him this?
there is no bismillah in front of surah taubah
