Carl you really need to take a moment and look at one of your first posted videos. From 2010-Now you have been an absolute legend, hero, and mentor to the whole guitar community. I appreciate you, man.
Thanks Carl, I am an old man trying to learn guitar and your lesson on Imagine was great...Clearly explained and the visuals are very helpful. I admire how you can describe the where the fingers and what fingers are placed where without getting tongue tied. Well done. mal
Dear Carl, Id like to take this opportunity to thank u for all the teaching activities. I really love ur American accent too. In the country were I live theres no chance to get a credit card so Iv got to watch and follow ur free videos. So far Iv learnt lots of things as Nothing else matter by metalica. Thanks again and wish u good luck
Hi Carl, looking for some inspiration I found your channel and subscribed. A real gem in the often confusing UA-cam jungle. Watched randomly some of your videos. Song selection and style of teaching are great - no tabs which forces use of eyes and ears and focus instead on the nuances of dynamics, vibrato, etc. plus your playing and tone are always first class. As always there are some haters here. They must be jealous, no other explanation possible. I am a fan and will spread the word. Cheers :-)
When i become a famous rock star in the future and people ask me where did i learned it all i will say a guy named carl brown u have my word carl oh i forgot marty
Always gonna get some muppet putting someone down but that only proves their own insecurities so their words are not worth a second thought.some people become teachers only because they're qualified n thats it,some become the BEST teachers cos they're qualified but also because they ARE GREAT TEACHERS and you are just that.i have great admiration for you n how you put your talent across.WELL DONE YOU keep up the GREAT work x
yes, you press all the strings in the fret down with your index finger making a bar, and then you just add your other fingers into the chord as needed. it is pretty tricky at first but once you get the hang of it, it will be the most useful chord formation you will know. Its also handy because you can use it practically anywhere on the fret board. I hope this helped and if you have anymore questions i would be more than happy to answer them for you.
i have watched many videos and tabs for this song and i couldnt perfom it. However, with your video (very good explained!), i easily managed to play it! Thank you. You got one more follower!
this is an awesome tutorial, and yes, I believe it is at beginners level since I am 15 and this is my first year for being really into my guitar so everyone else saying it isn't just don't know how to watch a tutorial properly :P
thanks for the good lesson ... Just got a request to play it at a friends memorial... a great honor but I have never thought I had the nuance right, This helps...
Awesome lesson! You explained them in a way that I (that I am a very beginner) could understand. Although I only managed to learn the intro and first verse, I'll keep trying to learn the others as well
I want to thank you for this video I'm not very good at finger picking this is a nice slow song to start with and you do it step by step which I like. Thank you!
That's a hilarous song, my favourite i thing! I like your interpretation, thank you for the video! I've done the versus only so far, but anyway, your variant and teaching manner is perfect for beginning guitarists ))
GuitarLessons365Song Some tabs or even just a chord list would have been awesome, it's difficult to get the timing right playing along with the original recording without some reminders! Either way, great video! It was very helpful!
I had seen this video when I had no guitar and I was 8 year old and was in cyber as there was no internet back then and now after 10 year I'm 18 and I have started playing for couple of months and I have an acoustic guitar and I'm going to learn it 😁❤️just wanted to share with you
Dude!! Thank YOU!! ❤❤ I'm just entering year 4 as og November...Self taught, and I was getting STUCK! I perform now, as my vocals are very good...much better than 80% out there...But thats whats helping me hold my own! My vocals. My guitar is limited to strumming or fingerpicking all major/minor and barre chords...So NOW, I'm backtracki g and learning scales, and THIS HELPS A LOT!! ❤❤ TY TY TY!! SUBBED!! Can you do some more 70s and 80s? Like Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver, Journey, Seger, Frampton, etc?? TY AGAIN!!!
Hello Carl. can you please show us how to play the eva cassidy guitar arrangement for somewhere over the rainbow. i love your teaching. ive gotten so much better at my playing since learning from your lessons. Thankyou
Hi! Excellent tutorial. Just what I noticed, while playing the chorus as the hold the A minor chord, how about hitting the fifth string instead of the sixth? I personally found it better. Again, thumbs up for this tutorial. I learnt the song all thanks to you (y). Might post a video response!
Excellent lesson. It would be more helpful if you sang, read, hum the lyrics so we can Identify where these notes belonged. Also, if you could identify how many counts per chord (some were 6 counts) it would help a lot. Finally, please identify all chords by name so we can follow along. Thanks for the excellent lesson.
Hi Carl, thanks for the lesson. great guitar lesson. Where can I find the tabs so I can follow thru when I am practicing. thank you si much for sharing.
I just starting playing guitar and this is really helping me a lot, i'm still learning the song, but you've helped me a lot, I was wondering if you might could play Far away by Nickelback ? (: thanks
@steveo27545 Hey Steveo, it's a new guitar of mine made by a company called Great Divide. Solid Canadian Cedar top and Rosewood back and sides. Plays and sounds really well and is a great bargain for a mid-priced guitar. :)
Thank you for responding. The guitar has a great sound. By the way, I think your lessons are some of the best on the web. Thank you for sharing - it has helped me immensely.
