I have absolutely zero problem with this guy or anybody else who build what they want. I wouldn't have cared if he cut up a clean original one if that's what he wants to do
I agree. Restorations are cool, customs are cool. Do what makes you happy. That’s what this is all about anyway
The rub 2 sticks together to make a fire analogy is epic. Makes total sense when you say it that way. Thanks for sharing the build
I would definitely watch more Dave on the channel! He seems like a down to earth, self made guy. Great to hear him talk about his mom and appreciative of everything!
This IS THE SWEETEST Grand National I've ever seen in my life!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice job Dave and crew!! This thing is INSANE!!! This thing is the ULTIMATE Turbo Buick V6 dream car!! I've owned/raced Turbo Buicks since the mid 90's. Loved them since new back in '86!! Your car is a work of art!!!!
Thanks Dave for this video! It's nice to hear you talk about your car and goals! Really nice share!!
"The Water's Fine"--Good point. The Buick guys would always stick together at the racetrack, the Mustang guys would try to outrun each other and try the Regal crowd too..... I was so so so very close to ending being a GN guy. My mom had one too, a 84' T-Type which was the 200/300 non-intercooled version. That sucker went 9.18 bone stock at the strip in 1987 and I remember everyone crowding around trying to figure that space shuttle out. It would also continue to haul rump way on the other side of 120mph (later GN's used to shut off). But I ended up hanging with guys who had Foxbodies and ended up with a Strawberry coupe in 1991 which I still have. But the Buicks are cool I tell you!
This is by far my favorite car model of all time. TSR really knocked it out of the park with this beauty! I look forward to seeing this Grand National in the winners circle! Good luck Dave!
Love his story about his mom buying a leftover new one back then and still has it. I wanted one out of high school in 1987 and Dad wanted so bad to get it for me but he just couldn't. 4 years later I was working and had my own money. Found a 2400 mile orginal here in Detroit, still had the little yellow marks on the goodyear eagle stock tires. I did a bunch of mods but nothing you could see and nothing that couldn't be reversed back to stock. It went 11.89 and was still a pretty much stock car. Spare set of GN wheels with little 27X8 M/T slicks for the track and street too when the time was right. I kept that car 4 years, didn't have garage storage and decided I got the turbo buick experience out of me and it was time to sell.
Originally I paid the down payment, dad took the loan and I paid him every month. Paid it off in 2 years. Original price $14,900. Sold it 4 years later after returning it to stock and then having 7500 miles. Sold it for $14,500. Cost me $400 to own that car for 4 years. 1995 some collector here in Michigan ran and bought it from me and drove it straight to the airport for a customer in Arizona. That car was weird because it didn't have the concert sound radio and speakers and had a fixed mast screw on antenna. I still have most of the performance parts I threw at that car back then. I haven't really wanted one since, but still respect them and think very highly of the turbo Buicks and the guys still fooling with them.
That car i a work of art ! The owner is very cool and forthright , great attitude. Thanks for showing.
I have to say it gets my vote for the cleanest regal for sure. That thing is gorgeous! As per usual you guys did a great job
Absolutely the most gorgeous Gbody in the world, and as a guy building a G body, the flat OEM floors are probably my favorite part of this build, you guys KILLED it!
Such a great ambassador for small tire racing and drag racing in general
I'm dying laughing over Dave's "Come on in the water's fine" comment. I can't wait to see this car in person.
Dave did a perfect job in the video. Very nice car.
God continues to bless them with talent for making fast and beautiful cars
Lawrence conleys shop was 10mins from my house in humble,tx..i remeber seeing tweeked and black out front on my way home from school..cpp was ahead of thier time.

Beautiful car, Dave! I'm glad to see you are still pushing the frontiers of the Buick world 👍

Absolutely love that Hot Rod! So sick!
I absolutely love the Grand National and you sir have an incredibly beautiful one! Good luck
When a car is more than just a car. Was asked by an intern once "how do I become a motor head?" Could not answer. When it somehow becomes personal. When you refuse to march down the same path. When you build an antique Buick Motorsports monster! Thank you! Stay humble. Take no prisioners!.
Your comment captures the essence of being a true motorhead. It's a personal journey, not just a hobby. Building something unique, like your antique Buick Motorsports monster, shows passion beyond the norm. It's about forging your own path and embodying the 'stay humble, take no prisoners' spirit. Thanks for sharing your inspiring story!
Beautiful car! I spy MR six speeds iroc in the background! You guys so beautiful work.
Beautiful car. My 1st gn was stolen in NJ 2005. I'd LOVE to get my 1st love back. My 2nd 1 isn't as special. But I love it.
Love your car. Thanks for showing.
It's my favorite! It was great to meet you and your wife at the GS NAts too Dave, There are a bunch of us up in Alberta Canada watching. Big fan here! BTW, I'm the "Hotair guy" ;)
Absolutely gorgeous car! Superbly built. I love the Grand National. I had an 82 Regal Limited that I absolutely loved. I will build one again someday.
I bought mine in 2019 a 74k mile t top car. I went for the basic safe build. Stock block, rotating assembly, flat tappet cam, te 60 turbo, razor alcohol, 20 psi boost, 3inch down pipe, 2.5 pypes exhaust. 11.5 quater mile. Not the fastest but i can run and out run most of your ss camaros, scatpack, mustang gts and other 400 to 500hp cars. Low end tourqe is a beast on these cars. Next car up is my 92 gmc typhoon.
First you guys killed on the build of this G.N. it's beautiful. Second Dave don't worry what people say or think bud it's your car do what you want with it.
I drove my Dads Buick Wildcat to High School in the Late 70s early 80s. All the Rich Kids had Camaro's and GTO;s Mustangs. That old Wildcat as big as it was would hold it's own and more often than not out run a lot of them. To this Day Buick has always been my favorite Muscle car. I own a 72 Buick Le-Sabre Convertible It was my Dads. He always had Buicks. He had a 67 Riv that got destroyed in a Flood. That's one sweet looking G-Body.
Absolutely beautiful car!!!!
Beautiful. But I would go with the reproduction gnx rear suspension on it. That is a work of art. Forget who makes it, but it’s pretty much identical. Such a sick looking and working set up.
Well you may not murder a good grand national but I definitely have but I took everything factory off and have sold it all too. Grand national owners that were restoring theirs but it was in a flood but the water only got a foot to foot and a half. So needed all new wiring, new carpet, all the basic stuff I sent the motor training rear end off. Had it all rebuilt back to factory and then sold it all. They're just something special about having a true grand national body chassis that makes it special to me
Beautiful automobile
I love your car. So cool.
Beautiful car brother, you should be more than proud of that build.
I first memory of a fast grand national was back in the day nmca fastest street car events that's where I fell in love with them
Dude badass!!! I fuckin love the G-Body!!! Awesome Grand National!!!🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲💪💪💪💪
Thanks @lanegeisewite1436 🤘
Not a GM guy but do respect the g body cars. That's a very beautiful car and probably is the nicest one.
God I love these cars and this is a gorgeous example. Wish we had them in Oz
This car inspired me to do mine..
I get it Dave i have a gn i bought new and need to get running and a ttype with a ta performance aluminium blk, heads front mount intercooler 68mm per. turbo, 4l80e trans, currie 9 inch, wilwood disc brakes all around, trans is from lonnie at exteme auto.,dual nozzle alchohol inj.nothing stock left under hood, still has ac and drive on the street. Totally understand the passion. My question for jason is was no mercy 14 the first time Dave had the gn out in competition, if so that sucks and we all know it wont be long before Dave is back out kicking ass.
