Billy kicked a close to 90 metre goal on a wet day in 1973 playing for West Torrens, it was judged the goal of the year, he regularly kicked long distance goals.
8.23 - I think it's fairly charitable to say that KB was passing to Barrot in the goal square. Very out of character for Hungry - definitely having a shot at goal and fluffed his kick!
Peter Hudson was just as accurate as Tony Lockett even though he was kicking flat punts mostly(if you see Hudson kick for goal holding the ball like a torp he was actually doing the floating flat punt, it was easier to be accurate with that because there's a larger area of the ball you make contact with so less chance for error).
Thanks for posting good old days
THank u so much Gezza for what is once again an amazing upload!! Go Tiges! BIlly Barrot what a gun

They were not using the drop punt those days . A lot of missed easy goals .

Screw punts can be just as accurate as the drop punt, just watch Bill Barrot.
