- This week was one of those weeks that really didn’t go as planned. My Jeep broke down, it cost me a lot of money to fix and I didn’t get to shoot what I was planning on shooting. I was feeling a bit down but then I remembered I had just the thing to cheer me up. This past September Caitlin and I went to the west coast to celebrate her birthday. I have been so busy I hadn’t even looked at the footage so I hung up the axe for a week and decided I’d finally edit this vlog. I’ll admit, it isn’t really a story as we were really there to celebrate so I left the camera in the bag for some of the best moments because sometimes you just need to enjoy the moment, especially when your celebrating a loved ones birthday.
Anyway, Salt Spring Island (also known as Saltspring Island) is one of the Gulf Islands in the Strait of Georgia between mainland British Columbia, Canada and Vancouver Island.
It’s really a wonderful place with old growth forests. That was the main reason we wanted to go. We love big trees.

Whale Watching
We were really nervous about going whale watching by boat as we fear it’s a bit of an infringement on the animals in their natural environment but after some research we choose Eagle Wing Tours and the boat captains could not have been more respectful. It’s a fine line between invading the whales space and not seeing whales and I think they walked that line extremely respectfully and we saw a lot of different families of these magnificent creatures. So thank you Eagle Wing Tours.

Just by watching this so far, the video shows that there was a lot of heart that was put into this video. Back in September, I took a ferry on my second last day visiting Vancouver Island and I decided to take a ferry to Salt Spring Island. I am glad I did. The town came alive when I stepped foot off the bus from the ferry into the town center. I loved the ferry ride and it met my expectations. Thanks for the video. I'll be sure to subscribe.

Very nice video, the beauty of the West Coast is really difficult to capture on camera. It needs to be experienced. I hope you had some seafood on fisherman's wharf at that place beside Eagle Wing tours.

5:39 Where is this located? I have lived here for years and I didn't even know their was a water fall on this entire island.
Interesting, Yeah, we heard to was a secret place. Some locals hesitated to point us in it's direction but we promised we would keep it's location a secret. It's apparently a historically sacred place and we felt it to be true. Sorry can't say more.
