Yeah i can picture this as a in true tragic end to my headcannon of Adult Asriel, like he goes out fighting some evil being that can genuinely inflict true damage, and disable his immortality so he’s just mortal, and very strong still but killable basically like if someone could get through Gojo’s, limitless, but after a grueling fight to the death ending with them both dying, and so he dies protecting his lover can live on since he doesn’t want them to attack her aswell.

it feels like this is more of a "cursed not to die" not a "blessed not to die , i haven't finished my work yet" simply because immortality is a curse, there is no upside, you die over and over again but you just come back. you still feel the pain of death. and theres no escape, everyone you know will die before you
thats being reborn, immortality, is just that you can't die entirely, yes, you feel the pain, and yes there are no upsides, both are hell if certain conditions are met.

For a human there is no upside. Human lives center around other humans or the group, thats why humans arent cut out for immortality but for the individual who embraces individuality and shuns the group immortality is only upsides.

I mean, I understand what you mean, but isn't immortality also a manner to understand life better, and to seek a new objective, have life redone.
It's hard to really put Imortality as good or bad, it just depend on who you ask, because some people will be lazy forever, and some other will be in depression. FOREVER.
But I understand, it's quite a Philosophical question, Imortality, and it can be linked with Psychology or Neurology.

I imagine a hero who is at the end of their story. They trained themselves to defeat the villain, made a deal with the devil for immortality, slayed countless opponents. Now that the villain has perished centuries ago, the hero doesn't know what to do anymore. All he knows is battle, all he knows is the dread of loosing friends to time, and there isn't a single thing in his world that can end his story.
We often see heroes like Thor, superman, and countless others living enjoyable lives knowing that they can defend their kingdom and friends. But our hero has outlived all of his friends, outlasted countless kingdoms and countries, yet he continues to stay in his prime. Once a hero, now a nobody who doubts his importance.

As you hold your sword, wounded yet alive you look up at those who threaten the kingdom, you have made a choice to sacrifice it all for those whom of thou love.
You swing your sword once more before your last enemy, you know you're going to die here, yet he turns and runs with his tail between his legs, why though? He has won has he not? He has already gravely wounded you-, and yet when you look down, you see no such traces.
You get up as all from the kingdom stare in shock and bewilderment, you begin to stand, before suddenly being impaled by the king's sword from the king himself. You look around frantically pulling the sword out and equipping it looking for such an enemy, but then you suddenly realize that the king meant you, no one else has been stabbed by the king in this point in time.
You try to justify yourself as the king stares on happily, he never liked how a hero was more popular than him for he always wanted the spotlight, even when sleeping.
As you begin to be stabbed by the guards countless times by the kings demand you become sick of hearing his putrid and impenitent voice. His head, as do all of the guards falls off, no traces of a blade having cut anything.
The townspeople all stare, shocked as you pull spear after dagger after sword after arrow out of your body, you no longer long for peace between races, even demons. You wish to wipe humans off of the face of the planet, you wish for violence and you're going to no longer wait for things to happen, as you're going to be making them happen.
As the slaughter the townspeople who were once cheering you remember all that the king has done to you- no, what, 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 king has 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 done to you, and your no longer going to suffer silently any longer.
(3 weeks later)
As you sit on your throne made of the bones of every human king to have lived you think of how every other race is so much better.
(12 years later)
You still sit on your now crumbling throne, your destroyed from war castle is falling apart, you don't know what to do, you've already wiped every problem clean off the face of the planet.
(40 years later)
you shot a deer today for looking at you strangely, it's still not dead and you've lost all empathy, you walk away as it slowly and painfully bleeds to death.
(200 years later)
As you conquer your 50th planet and wipe the last intelligent life form off of its face you sit on its dead body and ponder, having now clearly gone insane.

@@xFreSh999_ It really is. Like, if the line was delivered all over the game, Undertale, from start to finish it would have been very underwhelming. Like i'd be like, "Oh, cool, i guess Frisk can just refuse to die". But the fact that it was used in the final battle at the climax where Frisk's determination was at his highest point just floored me. It was the timing &, as you said, context that made that one simple line go so freaking hard.

The attackers hoped to kill him, they *hoped* to end the Guardian, however... he didnt fall over, the bullet fell out of his skull as he stood there and looked down at it.
His gaze, his peircing gaze of Golden and Purple colored eyes locked onto the attacker, only for chaos to erupt as fire sprung from the shadows, burning everything around him
this is what defeating any difficult boss I've struggled against sounds like to me... a will to finish a never ending fight, a will sharp enough to penetrate any armor, a will to strong enough be beaten down and rise up unscathed, a will so persistent not even death could stop it from its goal, it's desire, it's choice.... anyways i like it very gud, reminds me of when i finally beat godrick in elden ring, had like... 30 deaths or so from trying to beat him, makes sense since im not a hardcore souls player, but now im radagon, and the dlc, to think i picked the game back up a week or two ago and beat almost every boss in the base game, time to do the dlc the same, also not on new game plus or anything but still i think thats a lot of improvement for being new
