Official Music Video for the Jean Beauvoir single Gamblin Man - 1988, from the Columbia Records "Jacknifed" album. Produced, written and performed by Jean Beauvoir
I ♥ love Jean's solo work and his work with Little Steven. Out of the Darkness 👌. Another reason why I love Cobra is Jean. "You're the disease, I'm the cure". ✌️ 💖 🙏 Levent 🦁
Jean is a great musician I think. Because of his good charachter , most of the media didnt show his videos I guess...Most of the media try to ruin world people's morality and good chrachters I guess..
everything is perfect in this song : lyrics / story telling, rhythm / percussions, the style in singing, (a little bit unstructured, reminds me Billy Idol with vocal effects), guitar / bending, the video ...
Standing on the grounds of fitness I cop a score of ninety Talking, talking about intelligence I think I'm high and mighty, you see Friday I took a walk through the neighborhood Cause I got to thinking That some fresh air might do me good Oh, but I know that someone, someone dances above me Yeh, yeh, keeps me holding on, holding on, holding on Cause I'm a gamblin' man and I'm sitting here tryin' my heart out Yeh, yeh, yeh, well I'm a gamblin' man and I do what I can Gamblin' man and I'm sitting here tryin' my heart out I'm a gamblin' man and I do what I can I was having a talk with my sister Tired shortly after the party I said 'sis, a friend of yours is a friend of mine' Or might be if you'd only help me get started She told me 'see you're a man with no regard' If I had it my way I'd have you tied up in the yard With Fifi and Cleopatra And your obsession with those dirty jeans Yeh, yeh, but they keep me holding on, holding on, holding on Cause I'm a gamblin' man and I'm sitting here tryin' my heart out Yeh, yeh, yeh, well I'm a gamblin' man and I do what I can Gamblin' man just sitting here tryin' my heart out Instead of taking care of business I'm a gamblin' man and I do what I can, baby See I don't need a witness Cause I'm not denying Instead of taking care of business My mind is out there flying I'm livin' for the good times, yeh, yeh I'm just holding on, holding on, holding on Gamblin' man and I'm sitting here tryin' my heart out Doing the best I can, baby Gamblin' man just sitting here tryin' my heart out Instead of taking care of business Gamblin' man and I'm sitting here tryin' my heart out Just trying to the best I can

Great song! Jean was interviewed in swedish tv show Metropolis with host Anders Tengner and they played Gamblin' Man, in 1987 or 88.

Standing on the grounds of fitness
I cop a score of ninety
Talking, talking about intelligence
I think I'm high and mighty, you see
Friday I took a walk through the neighborhood
Cause I got to thinking
That some fresh air might do me good
Oh, but I know that someone, someone dances above me
Yeh, yeh, keeps me holding on, holding on, holding on
Cause I'm a gamblin' man and I'm sitting here tryin' my heart out
Yeh, yeh, yeh, well I'm a gamblin' man and I do what I can
Gamblin' man and I'm sitting here tryin' my heart out
I'm a gamblin' man and I do what I can
I was having a talk with my sister
Tired shortly after the party
I said 'sis, a friend of yours is a friend of mine'
Or might be if you'd only help me get started
She told me 'see you're a man with no regard'
If I had it my way I'd have you tied up in the yard
With Fifi and Cleopatra
And your obsession with those dirty jeans
Yeh, yeh, but they keep me holding on, holding on, holding on
Cause I'm a gamblin' man and I'm sitting here tryin' my heart out
Yeh, yeh, yeh, well I'm a gamblin' man and I do what I can
Gamblin' man just sitting here tryin' my heart out
Instead of taking care of business
I'm a gamblin' man and I do what I can, baby
See I don't need a witness
Cause I'm not denying
Instead of taking care of business
My mind is out there flying
I'm livin' for the good times, yeh, yeh
I'm just holding on, holding on, holding on
Gamblin' man and I'm sitting here tryin' my heart out
Doing the best I can, baby
Gamblin' man just sitting here tryin' my heart out
Instead of taking care of business
Gamblin' man and I'm sitting here tryin' my heart out
Just trying to the best I can
Thank you Jean for sharing this video. I share this with my 9 years old daughter. Love afro cubain percussions. Kisses from France.
I see why Prince tried to recruit this guy. You can hear why here in this song and performance.
😎

Para mi Jean beavouir es mejor que Michael Jackson
