  • The neck was removed. Successful but you can see from the heat stains on the sides, that my blades were a little too hot for the glues and created a burn mark. It’s superficial really and can be lightly sanded off when I refinish this.
    The biggest wrench for me was that this was a dowel connection, cheap little dowels, and glued. I was trying to slide it up at the start (the neck) and it was loose but not moving up. So checked the sides and saw thee dowels and then just wiggled it for about 5 minutes, gently, slowly, and it came off.
    The heated pins did loosen up the glue inside the neck area and it was effective and a good choice. One can also argue that the scoring from the outsides on the neck with my thin heated knives (putty knives) were just as effective and completely necessary. Main lesson, slow and easy does the job.
