I hate this change. This makes oil price totally insane now. Question is - where to find thousands of queen bees? Did they changed heavy padding or hardened leather recipes? Because otherwise it's too bad. Some calculations. Epic heavy armor set requires heavy padding. Heavy padding requires hardened leather. Hardened leather requires 5 oil each w/o thralls - and thralls don't give cost bonus now. So armor set requires 800+ oil. Since gloves and boots requires only 1 padding it's slightly under 600 oil now. Considering 20% of fish is unappetizing or savory waste, it takes 700+ of queen bees to make one epic heavy set. Or 6000 bugs. I don't know which worse. So ichor fish farm are no more (BTW comodos are much more efficient way to farm ichor). Introducing new oil fish farms, even more massive than ichor farms were, protected by several T3 layers of defences so no one to steal precious fish. 6000 bugs means 60 traps 100 bugs a trap for bugs not decay and fishing time was reasonable. There would be better fish of course, but it's too unreliable to be taken into equation. Also it takes 6 presses 1000 fish each... and decay losses will be unacceptable. So 6000 bugs is not enough, 7 or even 8K is needed to counter decay. And 70-80 traps of course. And all this humongous enterprize is needed only to get one set on epic heavy armor in several hours. Set up 10-12 traps, go sleep and collect fish the other day is not the case anymore.
@@KiragIG Right. You're going to have to harvest every bush in the Exiled lands/Siptah to get any quantity of the bait they will provide for the trap change. In the meantime, all of the seeds you will end up with = oil while you wait for your traps to produce. Not to mention all the excess plant fiber for your compost bins to get grubs. Set up a few bins to spoil a decent quantity of meat, like all of that mostly useless shellfish (split stacks to fill all slots), and have a few for making compost/grubs. It kind of looks like a wash in the end, although it does look like it's going to be a bit more of a grind on official/vanilla rates. I play SP, and don't use official/vanilla rates, so YMMV.
I feed exotic fish, & savory shellfish to pets, and press unsavory, and savory fish for oil. I cook exotic shellfish, & unsavory shellfish for ichor. With 10 & 10 I could fill four large chest with both oil, & ichor. Rather than drop seeds, I'll probably be pressing them for oil. Btw, I never press spoiled meat for ichor. Spoiled meat is only for compost, and fat grubs.
I hate the fish changes, that just makes my grinding even more. Though, I do like the Stone Consilidant changes, So much better using resin, since I always have lot of it, due to building out of wood alot. So that means I can easier get higher tier quicker, instead of taking 9 years to farm Ichor on spiders. Though the oil conversions, is useful I suppose, since food is useless now, I'll just throw every kind of fish into different presses to get the best amount of oil.
Worker bee seems to be the one to go for. Those and Queen are the only ones that don't have a decay timer and the rest were timing down at a rate that required 2:1 because of decay, meaning time wasted gathering them.
I always wondered why the unappetizing fish were actually the only useful ones to endgame recipes. After maybe level 40, you rarely have much use for the "better" fish in the current meta. Because I wanted to stock up on easy oil and ichor before the change, I was farming bugs and baiting traps much of yesterday's play interval. Really, it's not terribly bad. The trick is to use a hatchet or pickaxe on foliage, so you don't keep picking up unneeded plant fiber. It's not very time consuming to gather up a few hundred insects in this way. I was thinking about the increased difficulty of getting oil and ichor, and I think it will slow down early end game, making it a bit more grindy to spin up your resources, but once you get armor sets built for yourself and a few good adventuring thralls, the demand goes way down. At least for me. For resin, I don't see the grind being a big deal at all. Cut down a crap ton of trees, get some bark and a few dryers, slap it in and go do something more fun for the day. The dried wood and resin will be there when you return. One thing I will change is I won't be using oil as a fuel anymore. In tests I saw, neither unappetizing fish nor shellfish were yielding ichor, which may be a bug or may be intended. If you can't get ichor from cooking anything (or only from Abysmal Flesh), that might cause a pinch in terms of getting alchemical base, which is more needed than ever now. (That said, on Siptah, I'm getting so many bearer packs that I really never need to make it myself.)
I think they just keep finding a way to break the game with all these changes that people did not ask for instead of fixing the bug where fish traps will not place in water now they nerf Icor lol. Every update its more nerfs and changing things 3 years after we brought the game. Its frustrating as its become a grind , grind, grind. No end game but bugs and grind, on Siptah its now gonna be grind and horrid RNG. Shame Conan could be one of the great games but it does not even show up on most mulit player lists as a game to look at. Real Shame.
@@Atmos41 It's not about fuel. You can't craft damn hardened leather using coal. So you cannot craft adv heavy padding and epic heavy armor using coal. You need enormous quantity of oil to craft it.
@@KiragIG True, but you get a decent amount of oil through NPC grinding already. But I agree that oil is gonna be a rare resource if things stay like that! I would like that cooked fish give oil for example :)
Rotten meat is not included in the bait list? It currently makes better sense with the fish with the most oil and ichor being the least appetizing compared to the best eating fish. Make the prime eating fish the "follower fuel" to encourage accuracy growth rather than the unappetizing fish. Changes I still hope to one day see: A burn-pit station used to make charcoal from wood chips and branches and coke from coal. IRL smiths want to keep sulfur out of the ore or the iron becomes brittle. In Conan we add it to make steel-fire. Sulfur would still be useful in explosives and should be added for higher level healing wraps (Sulfa powder). Charcoal might be required to make iron and coke to make steel. Possibly require an improved forge to make hardened steel, star metal, and eldarium. Possibly add copper and tin to make bronze (equal to standard iron) but easier to work with wood burning hot enough for fuel. Allow players to customize their armor similar to how dyes work for cloth, Bronze, iron, steel or the useless bling of silver and gold plating. I'd like to see the game stats for a weapon be determined more by it's production with type being more of a choice in game aesthetics. That or have minor differences in armor penetration, damage, weight, and stamina cost for each weapon. A saber for example would be light and fast with poor armor penetration but could be made of iron, steel, or hardened steel ect. with stats improving for each.
I got the exact same result as you with Queen Bees in an improve fish trap - all rare fish, no basics, but almost all Angler Fish (seems like a way higher percentage than the others) - I did get one or two of each of the others out of 100 Queen Bees (but like 90+% angler fish).
Very good to know :O One would hope the traps would go faster in return for needing "fuel" though That 1 for 1 Oil thing is great! I like Stone Consolident changes too, then you can farm at your own pace instead of waiting for fish (though you could also harvest spiders with a sickle but they tend to be in very specific areas only)
It was one to one for unappetizing fish before. They actually made it HARDER to get oil because you need so much more unappetizing fish to get the oil in favor of the harder to get exotic fish. And I'm not going to waste bees on fish when I can get honey for them. All of this is moot for me since I play on console anyway.
I have found that the oil and ichor requirements have increased so much that I use the traps for the unappetizing versions exclusively. I've never before needed so much oil to make hardened leather. And this change made getting that oil even harder. Insects are easily harvested. Queen bees are not. Now I need a new source for oil. As for resin, I have so much I throw it away. And I'm not on TestLive.
9:28 It still doesn't make sense. Now you use exotic fish both for ichor and oil. It _would_ make sense if unappetizing still produced ichor and exotic gave 1:1 oil, but that's not what they chose to do either.
Let's face it! The fish traps are supposed to be set under water with bait in order to catch Fish. It drives me mad on official servers when players stack a thousands fish traps on the shore line, in 10mm of water facing the wrong way to catch fish 🐟 😅 . Or better still in a water well 🙄.
The change makes sense. In the end, it makes the survival aspect more real and demanding. For me that's more rewarding for a survival game . Fuel for the furnace will mean something. Thanks for the update Kiah 🙂
You'll still need a fish farm, probably even bigger than before, even with bait, in order to get any sort of quantity of whatever it is you're after, especially the rare fish, so that hasn't really changed. That sure was an awful lot of Angler fish in that one trap. Something seems a bit off there. For resin, you'd be further ahead to harvest the dead white trees for bark and use multiple dryers. Yeah, you'll have boatloads of dry wood, but it can be used as a coal substitute for fuel if you don't need it for anything else.
Good that exotic fish are the most useful now. Bad that fishing takes way too much time and the end result can be no fish if you forget to get them out and press them before you log off. Losing them all to decay in the traps is utter crap. So net effect is: why bother? When you can make heaps of oil on your Improved cauldron with bark and ichor and a thrall, why bother with fish? No ichor from fish either, so why bother? I’m not going to go to all that trouble just to feed archers unappetising fish for the better levelling in accuracy. The returns are way too low and could be zero. Bark is overflowing in abundance now, and ichor is easy to get from spiders etc so all my oil can come from there. The only point of fish traps now is goldfish in the Improved ones. And exotic shellfish for getting a Greater Shalebacks. To fix it, they could just stop decay in the fish traps. Then I’m not having to keep checking the bastards just to make sure I’m not losing all my hard work.
They need to fix the ichor from fish because it does not work when they are cooked also the idea of adding bait is not bad but they should of made a chance of the bait not being used or as a fuel instead and fish not expiring in the traps since it's no longer passive not everyone can sit and wait for fish to finish "catching" before they expire. It would be similar to the wheels of pain and thrall taming
I wanted to make better fish traps the other day and realized that there now seems to be no way to get the needed vines. Did Funcom fuck this up or is there a new way to get vines?

i really dont like what they did to the traps,. i would be ok with this if the fish does not decay in the trap. but they decay so quick if the stack doesnt get a sec fish... you basically have to watch it and take it out all the time...
Its back to coal for me! And with the change to ichor it looks more like no fish traps at all. Crappy changes that werent asked for but FC decided tro do to lessen lag
Maybe this was the point, coal sucks compared to oil and it was super easy to use oil. Tbh dry wood beats both, you just chop trees and put in dryer and you get tons of fuel and resin
The whole patch in general Some of the changes have a spark of a good idea but are poorly executed which make them not good changes in the end.. other changes are just plain stupid. Not going to list it all out in detail because I think most people are smart enough to figure that out for theirselves
What is even the point of a fish trap now? I have to go out there and harvest bugs and scrubs as bait? While I'm out there, I could come across crocodiles, turtles, antelopes, which I could kill and get their meat, and cook them. Why would I even bother with fish traps at this point?
Only doing these nerfs to slow your progress to boredom. If you breeze through the content before they release next year you won't buy the carrot they dangle in front of you even after you bought this early access because you know they are going to sale more crap with isle of siptah release.
Are you referring to Siptah or the base game? Siptah it's all over the place. Desert strip, outside most dungeons, and in patches throughout the main island. Base game is a bit more spread out, but usually there's some not terribly far unless you built in a very odd location.
Lets work on reducing server load. How about increasing the station size and complexity so instead of the previous 4-5 stations now players need to build 30 types. Oh noes, fistraps are too much load still because that's the best way to get oil.. How about forcing players to build 20 to have the best percentages for the stuff they want. now players instead of building 30 fishtraps, they build 30 fishtrap to catch oil fish, and 30 more to get speciality fish.. * facepalm *
The traps now require bait. No bait, no fish. Gathering bait is an inefficient grind, unless you only want insects. One can easily grind insects for 7 traps, 50 each (4 fish and 3 shellfish). But queen bees? You might get 10. So whether you have one trap or 100, you will most likely have bait for only 1. In other words. more traps does not improve your chances to get rare fish unless you invest the time to grind.
@@randallporter1404 With good tools it's not that hard I think, although never really grinded specifically for worms. I suspect you'd get enough if you just go around with a good scythe.. We'll see..

Well i was always uncomfortable when they announced funcom was being purchased by a new company, and looks like i was correct in feeling that way, lets run down the insane negative changes made since the buy out -Horses: i know several people will argue saying horses are a fun addition, however horses have broke the game, on top of merely making the once fairly simple thrall following you bug out since the addition of horses, they have completely changed the pvp game, its no longer who is the better skilled whilst in a duel, its now who gets the lucky shot on a horse, furthermore horses can and are used by trolls and griefers to great success, and for some reason they refuse to nerf -Thrall changes: on top of how buggy thralls have become (which is saying something because they were pretty buggy before) T4/5 thralls now do not offer cost reductions, meaning things like armor, weapons, and steel reinforcements are as hard as they ever were, meaning theres no real use in getting any T4 thralls except armors, but with these vast changes and nerfs, I wonder how long it will be before flawless armor buffs are nerfed to the extent that there is little point. -fish traps: you just saw it and there are many comments pointing out just how negatively this will effect the game, but I’ll recap, essentially with this new update demanding bugs, you’ll be forced to farm bugs, adding just one more grind to the game, all whilst completely ruining ichor and oil, this has effects on armor, weapon reinforcements, and other things, as if getting alchemical base wasn’t hard enough -General grind changes: this is just an over all thing, this game is already not great, its buggy, not very well optimized, and its graphics aren’t winning any awards, but its still a fun game, and there are those of us that play it, i especially enjoy it when i need a break from the intensity of grinding in Ark survival, and the broken trolling that comes out of ark. However with the horse additions, trolling and grieving is nearly as bad as it is on ark, whats worse is funcom is now seeming to insist on increasing the grind of Conan, and I’m certain this will only serve to push players away, i can tell you I’m certainly not happy with these changes and seeing them being made kinda makes me wanna put down the game permanently. I feel if they keep going in this direction, this game, which is already not very popular, will soon die completely, i hope they change where their going with this but only time can tell
OMG finally a chick conan who's a chick, what is wrong with all of these guys playing as females in this game? its disgusting .... play as your own sex weirdos.
Crap changes to the mechanism of catching fish. Totally unnecessary. Stone consolidant change is ok. Recipe drop I imagine from the fish mobs/vaults. Good luck. Especially if your vaults don't reset properly, like mine.
waiting for fish traps loot
Then suddenly
Fatal Error!
Not really a fan of this change :/
Its back to coal for me! And with the change to ichor it looks more like no fish traps at all. Crappy changes that werent asked for but FC decided tro do to lessen lag
Maybe this was the point, coal sucks compared to oil and it was super easy to use oil.
Tbh dry wood beats both, you just chop trees and put in dryer and you get tons of fuel and resin
Are all these changes coming to the exiled lands too or just Siptah?
Both, same game just different maps
Where can you find the recipe for improved fish traps in isle of siptah?
Blind luck. Chests, thralls, bosses, etc
People will go from 100 traps to 25 max.Its just too much work feeding all of them constantly with all kinds of bugs and bees.
A lot less traps for me, I was running 120 on siptah xD so ow will run like maybe 10
The whole patch in general Some of the changes have a spark of a good idea but are poorly executed which make them not good changes in the end.. other changes are just plain stupid. Not going to list it all out in detail because I think most people are smart enough to figure that out for theirselves
What's that outfit called?
Innkeeper top, corsair bottoms, kambujan boots
What is even the point of a fish trap now? I have to go out there and harvest bugs and scrubs as bait? While I'm out there, I could come across crocodiles, turtles, antelopes, which I could kill and get their meat, and cook them. Why would I even bother with fish traps at this point?
I don't really use them much anymore personally, but I guess if you wanted an alternative way for some resources then you could use that
Only doing these nerfs to slow your progress to boredom. If you breeze through the content before they release next year you won't buy the carrot they dangle in front of you even after you bought this early access because you know they are going to sale more crap with isle of siptah release.
I just wish now it get easier to get brimstone, you can easily have to travel a lot to get some with really very few place with it
and chance it from a survival game to on a plate game lol
Are you referring to Siptah or the base game? Siptah it's all over the place. Desert strip, outside most dungeons, and in patches throughout the main island.
Base game is a bit more spread out, but usually there's some not terribly far unless you built in a very odd location.
In exiled lands go into almost any cave and you'll find it
Im the only one who dont has this Update (ps4)
It's in testlive currently, so no one should have it unless they have that version of the game
@@KiahOnFireOfficial thank you very much for the replying have a great day
anyone can tell me wats outfit name she wearing???
tks so much
Buccaneer outfit.
Hate it, fully. I liked the passive just to have food anywhere. How does one even get these bugs, cuz if it picking plants ... I think I'll quit.
I dont want to spend 2 hrs a day mowing the lawn to get bugs to put in traps
So I killed 2 elephants and they took 10 minutes to kill each it was like fighting a dragon in the unnamed city
So who bright idea was it to make this dumb change I mean c'mon I liked how you got them overtime Instead of getting them when u put insects inn.
* facepalm *
How dare you post logical statements. MOAR IZ BETTAR! LOL
We'll see..
@@LaszloIvanyi IIRC I was using a Star metal Scythe with advanced upgrade. I stopped harvesting when I reached 550 insects. The number of queen bees was insignificant. Good luck, although with this change FunCom needs to do some rebalancing of the other insects and recipes requiring oil and ichor.
make more
Well i was always uncomfortable when they announced funcom was being purchased by a new company, and looks like i was correct in feeling that way, lets run down the insane negative changes made since the buy out
-Horses: i know several people will argue saying horses are a fun addition, however horses have broke the game, on top of merely making the once fairly simple thrall following you bug out since the addition of horses, they have completely changed the pvp game, its no longer who is the better skilled whilst in a duel, its now who gets the lucky shot on a horse, furthermore horses can and are used by trolls and griefers to great success, and for some reason they refuse to nerf
-Thrall changes: on top of how buggy thralls have become (which is saying something because they were pretty buggy before) T4/5 thralls now do not offer cost reductions, meaning things like armor, weapons, and steel reinforcements are as hard as they ever were, meaning theres no real use in getting any T4 thralls except armors, but with these vast changes and nerfs, I wonder how long it will be before flawless armor buffs are nerfed to the extent that there is little point.
-fish traps: you just saw it and there are many comments pointing out just how negatively this will effect the game, but I’ll recap, essentially with this new update demanding bugs, you’ll be forced to farm bugs, adding just one more grind to the game, all whilst completely ruining ichor and oil, this has effects on armor, weapon reinforcements, and other things, as if getting alchemical base wasn’t hard enough
-General grind changes: this is just an over all thing, this game is already not great, its buggy, not very well optimized, and its graphics aren’t winning any awards, but its still a fun game, and there are those of us that play it, i especially enjoy it when i need a break from the intensity of grinding in Ark survival, and the broken trolling that comes out of ark.
Coloca subtitulos en español nose inglés
OMG finally a chick conan who's a chick, what is wrong with all of these guys playing as females in this game? its disgusting .... play as your own sex weirdos.
I don’t like change in general
Ok this is bad not looking forward to this at all
Crap changes to the mechanism of catching fish. Totally unnecessary. Stone consolidant change is ok. But really... why dont they concentrate on fixing the many many bugs and issues rather than changing something noone asked for? Or add some endgame content. Instead they want me to spend my time farming bugs and bees so I can make oil and munch the god fish. Rubbish.
Ffs Fc!!! Shit game. Best thing with this game is the farming. Ye right.
This change sucks
I feed exotic fish, & savory shellfish to pets, and press unsavory, and savory fish for oil. I cook exotic shellfish, & unsavory shellfish for ichor. With 10 & 10 I could fill four large chest with both oil, & ichor.
Rather than drop seeds, I'll probably be pressing them for oil. Btw, I never press spoiled meat for ichor. Spoiled meat is only for compost, and fat grubs.
Yeee I always think if you perhaps had an over load of spoiled in the compost then its okay to press it, but you need quite a bit of spoiled for a minimal amount of ichor
