To Maldivians watching: I hope I was to do some justice to the story of your country with a combination of this video and the first impressions video. From the history I read, there was a lot more to be said, and I was hoping to get to the remote islands to share more aspects of the Maldives story and what happened beyond the capital. But couldn't see the opportunity to do it this time around without blowing the budget. I will be back for more someday though when I can travel a bit more independently without worrying about travel costs 😊

On the "Down to Earth" point... Us locals are quite a jaded bunch really, a lot of us only see the bad in ourselves (and the bad in others). But yeah I can attest that the general culture of the Maldives is quite laid back and casual, no matter who you are or what you are, MP or otherwise. Its a by-product of a culture that developed across small pockets where everyone knows everyone.

You missed out Addu Atoll from the map at 3.12 , that is the southernmost atoll of the Maldives just below the Equator. I just came back from there, that is why noticed. :)
Malé is...as you say... unique. Just by looking at Google Maps you get that Male is special. This island in the middle of the sea, with a modern capitol of 140k people. Most people think of remote stunning beaches and luxury resorts, when they think of the Maldives. But Malé is the true gem, I think.

İ live in Ankara Turkey which is 1000 meters above the Sea level and no hurricanes, no twisters, no tsunamis or catastrophs happen in inner Anatolia. İt is very easy for you , Maldivians to buy an apartment in Ankara City and live all throughout your lives.
I've read Ibn Battuta's Book called Al Rihla he had a very interesting experience there and he definitely played a huge role in terms of fixing rulings bcs despite Yusuf coming with Islam to the country, when he went away the Maldivians started to get back to their old pre-Islamic habits!
You cant just say stuffs like that,coz our country has 1200 islands and each got different sizes of populations & back then it was really hard to travel from one island to other, the weather here is complicated, its mostly very windy, or unable to travel from sea.

Us locals are quite a jaded bunch really, a lot of us only see the bad in ourselves (and the bad in others). But yeah I can attest that the general culture of the Maldives is quite laid back and casual, no matter who you are or what you are, MP or otherwise. Its a by-product of a culture that developed across small pockets where everyone knows everyone.

I remember riding around town on the back of a small motorbike to reach the shop of a local artist. A long way from the island resorts.
We were there around the same time. I left about a week and a half ago. I also stayed in Huahumale and completely agree about the hotel pricing - ouch. Now I am in eastern Europe and for what I paid for a basic three star in Maldives, I could get a 5 star here in Slovenia with meals included, lol.

Why allah can't inform muhammed abt poison in food which safiye give him at khaiber? 2 sons of muhammed was died when they are child.. Allah cant save them also and first wife khadeeja and a daughter too.. Then how he can protuct you and 160 crores muslim all over the world?

I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "There will appear some people among you whose prayer will make you look down upon yours, and whose fasting will make you look down upon yours, but they will recite the Qur'an which will not exceed their throats (they will not act on it) and👉 they will go out of Islam as an arrow goes out through the game whereupon the archer would examine the arrowhead 👈but see nothing, and look at the unfeathered arrow but see nothing, and look at the arrow feathers but see nothing, and finally he suspects to find something in the lower part of the arrow.

Malé is...as you say... unique. Just by looking at Google Maps you get that Male is special. This island in the middle of the sea, with a modern capitol of 140k people.
Most people think of remote stunning beaches and luxury resorts, when they think of the Maldives. But Malé is the true gem, I think.

İ live in Ankara Turkey which is 1000 meters above the Sea level and no hurricanes, no twisters, no tsunamis or catastrophs happen in inner Anatolia. İt is very easy for you , Maldivians to buy an apartment in Ankara City and live all throughout your lives.

I've read Ibn Battuta's Book called Al Rihla he had a very interesting experience there and he definitely played a huge role in terms of fixing rulings bcs despite Yusuf coming with Islam to the country, when he went away the Maldivians started to get back to their old pre-Islamic habits!

You cant just say stuffs like that,coz our country has 1200 islands and each got different sizes of populations & back then it was really hard to travel from one island to other, the weather here is complicated, its mostly very windy, or unable to travel from sea.
