She worked very hard for everything she had.Her husband spent all her money and left her in debt then killed himself .She had to start over .At least she didn't leave it all to dogs like Doris day did when she had a nice grandson.

This Elegant and Classy Lady was not just a Legendary Comic, but a Fashionista! She always looked like a movie star, never frumpy. She wore the clothes not the other way around. She could wear both couture and off the rack, but still look Amazing! People from this era are not politically correct, hence the fur. That does not make them evil or insensitive, she loved animals and donated money to Animal organizations. I think all of us tend to be Hypocritical to a certain extent, so don't be so quick to pass judgment! Will always remember her witty comebacks and unapologetic Humor!

@@colinfleetham8190 Yes, I will never forget that horrible interview on CNN right before she passed and the host Fredericka kept baiting her and preaching about her wearing fur. Poor Joan was blindsided...she was on to talk about her book and they never even got to discuss it. Joan fact checked her and asked, "What are those shoes and belt you're wearing made out of?" Fredericka answered, "Leather!" Joan told her so STFU about me wearing fur...Lol!
Unfortunately, she got Joan so upset that she took off her mic and walked off, can't blame her...but that's exactly what they wanted! Just very nasty people at that network...
