Hi everyone! Since posting this video, Etsy has increased the Letter option to 64 cents. Postage stamps are 68 cents, so its actually cheaper to go with Etsy!
I shipped my sticker using an A7 invitation envelope 5x7 with 120GSM and followed your instructions. I paid $.60 which is great! however, how come I cant track the shipment using USPS tracking site? it is showing "status not available". its been 1 week. what should i do?
@@joshmichharrington4100 Hi Josh, the shipping is a bit weird because it is USPS First Class but its through Etsy, not USPS. That is why you can only track it through Etsy and not USPS. Hope that makes sense!
Thank you so much for this video! the .25 inch thing was the one mistake I kept making and I could not figure out why it kept saying the letter was unavailable at 1 inch! I wasn't even aware that we could put a fraction of an inch in those boxes. Thanks sooo much!
You literally saved me!!! I had a payment reserve implemented on my shop out of nowhere which was a little annoying, so I am unable to get money from anything without tracking for 90 days. I didn't want to charge buyers for the 5 dollars for a shipping label for a 3-4 dollar sticker, so I have just been using stamps and hoping to wait out the reserve. This has totally changed things, I wish more people knew about this! :D
Thank you for this video! Super helpful and easy to follow. I just opened a sticker shop and had been worried shipping cost could discourage people from ordering.
As someone looking to switch to Etsy but also wanting to have tracking options for stickers - this video popped up at the absolute perfect time!! Thank you so much for this wonderful insight! 🥰💕💕
Thank you so much for this video! I was also having the same problem of the calculated shipping costing more than the item itself. This is a great tip, thanks!
Do you happen to know what size label these would fit? I know you mentioned using regular size printer sheets with 2 labels each but I'm trying to avoid cutting them down if possible!
thank you!! i just spent the last hour trying to figure out how to update it manually. you have create a brand new listing, since if you "edit" an existing shipping option it doesn't even ask you about the pricing option.
Thanks for sharing ❤ How can you scan and track them with the tracking, I follow ur intruction but i could not scan it at usps and i dont know how to track them to know if my customer receive it or not
Probably one the most easy to understand videos on this subject for me I have to say! One question tho, would this apply to a small bubble mailer say 4x8? It's my first time opening a shop and I wondered if it's better to use a small bubble mailer or rigid envelope?
Yay, I'm glad!! I have gotten a bubble mailer with stamps on it in the mail so I think that could work as long as the height is under .25 inches and weight under 3oz
Does this still work in November 2024 (obviously the price went up... But is this how you get tracking status for letters?). I have not sold anything yet, so I can't try it
One more question. What is the dimension of the label for letters? do they offer a 4"x4" option? I tried searching and can't find a definitive answer. Thanks
Everything I've read says USPS First Class Mail does not provide a tracking number. How are you getting tracking without upgrading to USPS First Class Parcel?
I'm having trouble printing the envelope. When I purchase the label and try to print, it prints out sideways (i.e. portrait mode) on my com 10 envelope. How do you get it to print out correctly in landscape mode? Thanks.
Are you placing the envelope sideways? You would have to feed the envelope to the printer landscape mode. I'm not sure if there's a way to change how it prints out.
I've been doing this since I opened my shop in October 2022. Now over 6 months later, the tracking numbers are stuck in the 'pre-transit' mode and I can't get my money from Etsy for 45 days since I can't prove i shipped or items were received. Odd since I paid for the postage through etsy and printed the label. Has this happended to you or anyone else lately? It worked fine for the longest time and now all of a sudden my shop is getting alot of orders and i'm not able to get my etsy deposits in a timely manner due to it looking like i haven't shipped anything. (I take to post office the day after the order) Thanks for a great video and any suggestions. :)
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with Etsy! I haven't had the issue in which Etsy won't pay me because of the order showing as pre-transit but I've had a few orders show as pre-transit even though they were delivered. The only thing I can think of is maybe take them to the counter at the post office and make sure they scan it? Or reach out to customers to see if they got their orders? I'm not sure how you would go about letting Etsy know but I hope you are able to get your money! Good luck!
i have A9 envelopes with the dimensions 5 inches (going top to bottom) and 8 inches (going left to right). So it would be 8L x 5W right? Also would the height mean the size of how much stuff is going inside the envelope and then you get the measurements?
I made some sticker designs and had stickermule print them. Do I need to add stickermule as a production partner in etsy?I have only done POD so far so I am noit sure.
Im still confused about the labels. I have my product, my store, my envelopes, shipping costs ect ect.. So how do I get these labels? Do I print them myself? Do I need a special label maker? Im about to open a shop to about 300-400 waiting customers and I absolutely to not want to write down names and addresses by hand. I feel like that would get out of hand very quickly. Whats the best way to make sure my orders go out in a timely manner without having to write all day?
Thanks for this! I am about to open my shop but was wondering if we are still allowed to ship using stamps? I have already bought forever stamps but not sure if we can still use those. Thank you!
Hello, your video is extremly helpful, just had one question. Would this method be okay to ship with a 6 x 10 bubble mailer? I'm only shipping a sticker, it's bendable and only weighing 1oz. Thank you for the tips!!
I’m not sure I fully understand. If I am providing free shipping, but it looks like the customer is being charged $.95 for your stickers. If I sell greeting cards, would I choose the flat, 8 x 6 x .25? And that is with tracking?
If you're shipping with a bendable envelope, you can choose "Letter". You could choose "Flat" but it will charge you more. And yes, it includes tracking.
@@thequietonesspeak Oh, ok, my rigid flat envelope that is somewhat bendable is not actually considered "flat" in Etsy's terms, right? I've been told by the PO it is considered a large envelope. Would I be better off just putting a couple stamps on it and not doing tracking as I do need the rigidity of this cardboard envelope?
Maybe this is a question for Etsy, but how long does it take for the USPS tracking number information to update?
