Loved these ladies. I am practically one of them now at 58. Dorothy is my favorite though of course that is because I tend to view things the same as she does. I will be watching your face. It will be Rose who gets you.

Answer to Blanch's pregnancy, she was going into menopause.
That actually happened to my grandmother's friend Mildred she was going thru menopause & got pregnant she had 2 sons in high school so when her daughter was old enough to go to elementary school my mom was taking my brother to school while her mom's friend Mildred was taking Joanna to school my mom & Mildred had to laugh about it

This show was on for 7 years (1985 to 1992) but been off the air since 1992 and this show is still funny.

There was also a spin off called the Golden Palace, where the girls sold the house and bought a hotel. Dorothy is in a couple of episodes. I love it too. You can watch the whole season here on UA-cam

Your point about being pulled towards each character is exactly what I've ways felt. Just when I get to the point where I feel like one Girl is my favorite, something comes along and draws me to another, then another and another. It's just proof that the writers behind the show are unbelievably incredible, and those four funny women are among the best of the best.
Poor Dorothy 😞 always getting put down by her "Ma" 😂 Rose is clueless 😂🤣 and Blanche is so vain 😂🤣

This sitcom was the bomb, and you're right, there will never be another sitcom like it. I liked it when I had to wait a week for the next episode and now with technology I can burn through a whole season in a matter of days. Too much laughter, although at times a bit raunchy, yet every episode was funnier then the last.

What really blew people's mind was that Betty White actually played a character very similar to Blanche on a previous sitcom. She was asked to play Blanche in the audition for Golden Girls but last minute they switched the actors and Betty became Rose and completely changed how the public viewed her.
Yeah, the characters on Mama's Family were totally similar to Golden Girls but only reversed; Rue had the 'dimwit' and Betty had the 'sex fiend'.
Betty White also played the slut on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Rue McClanahan played the dummy on Maude.

So Dorothy told Blanche to go out with Stan but when she does. Dorothy gets in her feelings. Lawd they really set it up to make us think that Benjamin was black with the sensitive overtones.
But these are the clips from just first and the second season, I think. Other seasons are way funnier..... :)

love the golden girls. been watching your re-action video's for about a month now. I get a kick out of them. you should check out the sitcom "Soap" it's older than golden girls but same humor and way ahead of it's time. it got cancelled because it was too out there. hilarious though.

This is great comedy that is so missed! I believe only Rose (Betty White)is still alive. Sophia was apparently the youngest of the group, There is nothing to compare today with the Golden Girls.
actually Rue was the youngest. From oldest to youngest it goes Betty, Bea, Estelle and Rue. Betty and Bea were only a few months apart and Estelle was only a year younger, Rue was 14 years younger than the rest of them

Betty was also in a show called Hot in Cleveland that started I believe in 2010 with Valerie Bertanelli, and 2 other phenomenal ladies. She plays a sassy old lady and it's hilarious the characters are all so unique. And they had some of the most amazing guest stars on it during it's run. It is hilarious.
