Yes! This is the group I've been waiting for you to get to. The Guardians are just plain fun and they have one of the best soundtracks in their movies. Don't skip the Christmas special before Guardians 3. It's definitely worth the watch.

55:49 HOWARD THE DUCK IS: The wierdest character in Marvel Comics and one of the most popular in the 1970s. He comes from another universe where ducks became the superior life form. He got transported to our world thru magic. He has no real powers he was used for social and political commentary. In the comics he is 3 ft tall. He knows Quack-Fu which is a martial arts form which allows him to fight huge (human) targets. In the times of old newspapers and comic strips, only Howard, The Hulk and SpiderMan had their own strips.
I'm a father of 3, oldest is a boy, and two girls. My son wanted to see all of the Marvel movies, my girls were 10 and 8 when this movie came out. They saw the trailer and this was the first Marvel movie that my entire family went to at the theater for Marvel. It holds a special place in my heart. I'm also old enough that I had a walkman, so this hit a nostalgia for me too.
When this movie was releasing there was no hope it will be a big hit but James Gunn made this movie at its best, it was a big hit from Marvel . This was one of best movies of mcu. Guardian of the galaxy trilogy which is directed by James Gunn is one best the best trilogy with Captain America trilogy. Just wait after one day you will see the Avengers and guardians together. But which movie is that I will not tell 🤣 , it is in your line and it is the greatest marvel ever made.
I was waiting for this reaction. This movie had a lot of layers that make it great. The story. The soundtrack. The heart. The chemistry of the actors. Etc. It’s for sure one of my favorites of all time.
i think this movie surprised everyone when it first came out. its still great rewatching over and over again. oh and howard the duck was, i believe the 1st marvel movie from the 80's and that was just a easter egg to long time marvel comics fans. its actually a pretty creepy movie.
The first films from the company that would become Marvel were a 15 part Captain America serial in 1944. There was also a 1978 Doctor Strange TV movie. But yeah, the first standalone feature film was Howard the Duck, followed by Blade.
I have never seen a movie that tears your heart out at the beginning, and then has you laughing hysterically throughout until you cry again about a CGI tree😂
Yeah, this soundtrack was the unexpected hit of the year There was even a vinyl album for it too i think The songs on it reached new places on the charts they haven't seen in decades
If you look closely you will also see Adam Warlock's original cocoon from the comics. Which is really weird since they gave him a completely different looking cocoon when he finally debuted in the MCU.
Yep, I cried real tears in the opening scene, too. My mom died from cancer the same year Guardians came out. In fact, it was on Valentine's Day. The night she left us, I had just arrived at hospice to visit her and she passed before I could get there. Anyway, Guardians is the most fun and has the most heart of any MCU movie. I knew you would love it. I am eagerly anticipating your reactions to Age of Ultron and Ant-Man. You are a joy to watch ❤️

You will have to watch the rest of the MCU films to learn it though. The stuff in this film is original to Marvel, including the Guardians characters that originated in the comics. Once Disney bought Marvel, they could start using them in their theme parks, merchandise, etc.

Hey Amber, Soooooo stoked my absolute fav of the MCU films. Love every character, the music, visuals, each ones storylines, the fun banter, everything. But...Rocket and Groot steal my heart. Baby Groot to cute. Thanx so much, stay groovy, take care, Peace
Howard the duck is the FIRST Marvel movie to ever come out.... back when VHS, cassette tapes, and Walkmans were a thing. There were no CDs at the time. The dog is from the Russians first attempts at exploring space with the goal of landing on the moon. As an experiment, they sent a dog into space before man...... and never worried about it coming back to Earth. The dog perished in space....... or so we thought. Enter, the Collector.
Well, not the first... but I would call it the first of that era. There was some really, really crappy 70s stuff that came out as well. Like a Captain America movie and a spider-man movie. This dog is actually Cosmo who appears in later Guardians stuff. Cosmo is based on the story of Laika though. The craziest older (actually after Howard the Duck) show was a Agents of SHIELD show that was set to star David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury. Do yourself a favor and go google him as nick fury. Cracks me up every time.
I got a Walkman in 1983. My first tapes were Michael Jackson’s Thriller, The Police’s Synchronicity, and Styx’s Kilroy Was Here (with the song “Mr Roboto).
When I saw this in the theater, the beginning made me sob : my grandmother brought me up since I was 11 and she passed away about 6 months before this came out. I think this is why I love this: very sorrowful for me, great music, funny scenes, and a wonderful ending. Miss you Gma ❤
Hey Amber, Sony Walkman was born in Japan then came to the U.S. in 1979. Just your basic cassette player with headphones, so popular, then in 1988, the CD was born and revolutionized listening to music with smaller headphones, then CD players came out for cars. Peter Quill aka Chris Pratt from the show Parks & Recreation and a host of films did a good job, Zoe is wonderful, I suggest the film Colombiana. Nice reaction. Welcome to the world of the Guardians. Yes, this movie has the best soundtrack :D. That was 10cc in the beginning with the Walkman. "I'm not in love." "I know who Jackson Pollock is." Then I suggest the film Pollock. Peter dropping the ball wasn't scripted. Ronin the Accuser is from The Hobbit films as the head Elf. Oh yeah, there's a 1986 film called Howard The Duck, it bombed at the box office lol. He lives on Duckworld, which at times, is a violent planet. That might be Cosmo The Space Dog with The Collector in the second credit scene. He's a telepath and the security chief of the space station/mining colony Knowhere and according to the comics, he's a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy but not here in the film.
Howard the Duck is an obscure Marvel character that got some exposure in the 70's (I believe). The Howard the Duck movie was released around '87 and starred Lea Thompson.
Music girl… you are going to love this! Explore all these tunes and artists at your leisure, but there is definitely a lot of culture in the music. 🤛😎👍✌️🤟🤙
I slept on the Guardians for so long, all three of them are now some of my favorites in the whole MCU. I was not so patiently waiting for you to get to this one cuz I knew you would love it. What a great ride you are on and thanks for bringing us along!
Amber, how this crew came together is how groups come together in D & D. Ragtag group with different skill sets to fight a common enemy or to complete the same goal. :)
Happy Marvel Thursday, Amber! 😊 This was another one that I was looking forward to you getting to. And I already know that you're going to love the characters and the music in this one. This was the first ever MCU movie that I saw back in the day. My sister was the one that told me about it. And ever since, this remains one of my all-time favorite MCU films. And here, you learn more about the Infinity Stones. And you meet Thanos, the big bad of what's known as the 'Infinity Saga'. Up Next: "Avengers: Age of Ultron"(2015) Looking forward to your next reaction. 😊
Yes!! Welcome to one of the best, most fun, and most emotional trilogies ever! The characters are great, and as you pointed out, the soundtrack is GOLD!! Two is really good too, but you will be blown away by Three, which will help you understand Rocket so much better. Have lots of tissues ready for that movie. Great reactions Amber! 😊
When this movie came out, James Gunn gave everyone a link to download the soundtrack for free! I think it was on Facebook (I'm not sure). I still have the original file on my exterior hard drive. 🙃
You thought you liked Tony. You thought you liked Thor. You now like Peter. You're gonna love this ride. The ship Peter flies is called The Milano - he named it after Alyssa Milano because at the time he left Earth in 1988, Who's the Boss was a hit show and it was her first big acting role. A lot of young boys and teens in the late 80s had a crush on her. James Gunn is known to feature many recurring actors and friends, Michael Rooker and his brother, Sean Gunn in particular and also Rob Zombie. Rooker played Yondu in this movie and instead of changing accent to be an alien, he kept his Alabama accent. Sean Gunn played Kraglin, Yondu's sidekick. Rob Zombie had a small voice cameo, playing the voice talking to Peter when he got picked up from Earth. Tyler Bates, the musician who composed this score and the scores of the John Wick films, also appears as one of Yondu's crew. He is now the touring lead guitarist for Marilyn Manson. James Gunn now runs the DC Universe line of movies and shows and will soon release a new Superman movie this year. When you're done with these films check out a movie called Slither, it was James Gunn's first movie and it is a hilarious horror masterpiece.
Honestly, the best reaction yet! This is my absolute favorite MCU film even after seeing all of them even up to now. Guardians Vol. 1 has it all! 💯 So much replayability too!
the Infinity Stone revealed here shows to the untrained masses (who never read the comics) just how dangerous they are, showed the infinite possibilites what they could be used for The tesseract and aether both yielded destruction of course but the degree from each was teeny-tiny compared to this stone I found it cool and scary at the same time to see it in action and was excited to see the rest of the 6 stones and what their functions were
Before this movie came out I had no idea who the Guardians were. I was a pretty big comic book nerd in the 70s and 90s, kind of skipped most of the 80s til later, and I think I'd heard the name but knew nothing else. All I know came from this movie and everyone did in incredible job making these characters some of the best in the MCU.
The Guardians of the Galaxy movies are my personal favorites. Love their relationship withbone another and the soundtracks are classics. The 3rd Guardians of the Galaxy movie explains why Rocket is the way he is.
Just to touch on a couple things that are easy to miss in this movie- The Kree were a huge colonial empire that ruled a lot of the galaxy. Their empire is wanting(you will get more details later) and they were forming a peace treaty with Xander. Ronin was what was called an Accusor. Basically a religious warrior for the Kree. His speech about being called a terrorist is because he doesn't believe Kree should be giving up it's power so he is going to fight it's enemies even without permission. Early on you see a conversation with Xandar blaming a Kree representative for one of his attacks and they are saying he isn't theirs any more.
I knew you were gonna love this movie because of the soundtrack specially. What an awesome reaction Amber, great to see you continue to enjoy doing what you do. With that hairstyle you reminded me of my favorite cousin growing up. Looking forward to your reaction on the other 2 Guardians of the Galaxy movies, all 3 are awesome but this has to be my favorite. Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy n the Avengers, those are my favorite comics movies, in that order
Amber, believe it or not, Rocket is voiced by Bradley Cooper & Groot is voiced by Vin Diesel! And Groot only says “I am Groot”. It may be the only words, but it’s how he says it, with different inflections that determine what he is saying. Rocket understands what he’s saying.
Something you might have missed. Peter's ships are the Milano and the Benatar. As in Alyssa and Pat. Those are two names that every boy on the continent knew in the 80's.
Howard The Duck, the first marvel movie I saw as a child, realizing later in life that it was Marvel was neat. Haven't rewatched it, I remember it freaking me the hell out.
It is a character from the comics known as Cosmo. He (in the comics it was a boy, in the movies a girl) was based on Laika and was sent up in very much the same way as an experiment into early space travel but was affected by cosmic rays and got heightened intelligence (for a dog), telepathy and telekinesis. Thinking it was Laika is really close to being right.
The Guardians will have an important role going forward. I find it cool that every movie you watch becomes your favorite. I guarantee it won’t be the last time you say that
This is going to be fun! And right up your alley! Yeah, the beginning is hard. I lost my dad to cancer too, when I was 15 and my mom to cancer 4 years ago when I was 55. It's never easy to lose a parent.
Peter Quill (AKA Star Lord) IS the kid from the beginning. He was abducted from Earth by Yondu (blue Mohawk guy) and the Ravagers right after his mom died

I slept on the Guardians for so long, all three of them are now some of my favorites in the whole MCU. I was not so patiently waiting for you to get to this one cuz I knew you would love it. What a great ride you are on and thanks for bringing us along!
I don't remember Amber's oklahoma accent being this strong lol. I couldn't hear it before

I love it! I’m right next door in Arkansas, so I can dig it! ❤😊
I didn’t think she was _from_ Oklahoma. I know she lives there now, but thought she grew up in the South.
Amber, how this crew came together is how groups come together in D & D. Ragtag group with different skill sets to fight a common enemy or to complete the same goal. :)
Happy Marvel Thursday, Amber! 😊
This was another one that I was looking forward to you getting to.
Up Next: "Avengers: Age of Ultron"(2015)
Looking forward to your next reaction. 😊

Love how you’re flying through the MCU. Your reactions are awesome Ms Amber!
Calling a Walkman the same "whatever that is" made me feel old
@weknowtheculture498 just be glad it wasn't an 8 track tape.

@@user-dv6gt5iw4b Facts lol

💯 So much replayability too!
the Infinity Stone revealed here shows to the untrained masses (who never read the comics) just how dangerous they are, showed the infinite possibilites what they could be used for
The tesseract and aether both yielded destruction of course but the degree from each was teeny-tiny compared to this stone
I found it cool and scary at the same time to see it in action and was excited to see the rest of the 6 stones and what their functions were

Now you have been introduced to the Chris: Chris Evan, Chris Hensworth, and now Chris Pratt.❤

At least you spelt one of the Chris's right, Chris Pratt... but the others should be Evans & Hemsworth not, Evan & Hensworth. 😉
You will love the music and definitely fun to watch!! Enjoy Amber!!!
55:43 that’s Howard the Duck, he’s an 80’s movie icon

Favorite Marvel movie….and that isn’t easy to say. This was a masterpiece. Great reaction…the music was the icing on the cake.
We miss you getting lost in music. Can't wait till you're able to react again. Love the movie and TV reactions as well, though.
The Guardians of the Galaxy movies are my personal favorites. Love their relationship withbone another and the soundtracks are classics. The 3rd Guardians of the Galaxy movie explains why Rocket is the way he is.
Did you notice how Ronin stomped Drax? Recognize Thanos said he'd bathe the stars in Ronin's blood.

Just to touch on a couple things that are easy to miss in this movie-
The Kree were a huge colonial empire that ruled a lot of the galaxy.

Loving how fast your uploading this series!
This is PRIME Marvel and an incredible origin story!
Thank you for your father’s service and the service of your family .. All due respect ….🇺🇸

First reaction video of the day for me. Coffee and Amber to wake me up and a smile start my day.. couldn’t be any better!
Love ya Amber! ✌️😉💕🌹
Something you might have missed. Peter's ships are the Milano and the Benatar. As in Alyssa and Pat. Those are two names that every boy on the continent knew in the 80's.
This might be my favorite reaction to this movie, can't wait for you to see the rest!
Howard The Duck, the first marvel movie I saw as a child, realizing later in life that it was Marvel was neat. Haven't rewatched it, I remember it freaking me the hell out.
I always thought the dog in the spacesuit was supposed to be Laika, the first dog sent to space by the USSR.
It is based on Laika i think, they just renamed her cosmo in the comics
It is a character from the comics known as Cosmo. He (in the comics it was a boy, in the movies a girl) was based on Laika and was sent up in very much the same way as an experiment into early space travel but was affected by cosmic rays and got heightened intelligence (for a dog), telepathy and telekinesis.
Thinking it was Laika is really close to being right.
Gaurdians are my absolute favorite 3 films of all time. They took over the Star Wars trilogy...It just blew my mind how great these (Gaurdians) are.

Legendary Filmmaker David lynch passed away Today ( Twin Peaks, Eraserhead, The Elephant Man, Dune (80s version) and more)
Wow. No more red room.
Oh no! I loved him. During lockdown he'd do a weather report every morning on his YT channel.
"Sheesh can we have some good feels now?"
"Comin right up." - Star Lord
I look forward to your daily Marvel uploads. One day it will end but lovin it while it lasts!
