I also live in Colorado. When we moved here 5 years ago (due to a job transfer), we learned about ‘water rights’ that were established generations ago. We were told that every drop of water falling from the sky was already claimed before it hit the ground. It was only in the past few years that CO has allowed people to collect up to 110 gallons of rainwater. In areas where there is not enough water for all uses, man-made ponds, even those that have existed for decades, must have a legal means of storing or exposing water to evaporation. Man-made ponds consume water that senior water rights are entitled to. NOTE - These are the water rights going back several generations. The Division of Water Resources (DWR) is systematically reviewing ponds in several areas of Colorado where ponds without legal authorization have a substantial impact on the stream system.
Please make Brad Lancaster property tour videos available again! Their are great. I can't believe they are hidden.
Well-thought out and well presented. Terrific use of nature’s gifts! You have a wonderful system. Thanks for the great ideas.
Have you tested your rainwater?😊
I really get frustrated here in Colorado, we can only caoture 110 gallons of water and cannot store more than that at any one time.
Can you store it in a pond?

Do not comply. ✌
@@freedomruss Noncompliance will bite you on the backside, as County’s use of Google Earth overlays will expose an unauthorized pond.
