The epic fail across the board on Led Zeppelin damaged my soul beyond repair.
None of them knew it was Led Zeppelin. Oh dear.
One of the girls knew it was either Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath-you can’t tell the difference between Robert Plant and Ozzy?
Hell,Yeah...Led Zepplin Is a legendary Group..Millions Of people know this group..How can they NOT know of LED ZEPPLIN....Hell,They SHOULD KNOW Billy Joel...He`s a LIVING LEGEND!!
Did. ....Did she say, the Beatles?
@@CodPatrol no it doesn't it doesn't have their sound, it doesn't sound like john Paul or Ringo they were from Liverpool that had deeper voices than Billy Joel
No one knew Led Zeppelin? I just shook my head off my neck......
I worry about the taste levels of most of these people! They don’t have a clue about any decent bands!
I know I was shocked! Led Zeppelin was before my time too, I wasn't even born when this song was recorded so they have no excuse.
the fact 0 of them got zeppelin hurts my soul
That act was over 40 years ago. It would be like teens in the 1980s being fluent in acts from the mid 1930s through out the 1940s.
how does anyone confuse the voices of robert plant and ozzy osbourne!?
Maybe they were thinking of the Dio era of Sabbath, lol.
Still no excuse...
**sees robert plant** **rapidly clicks screen** ZEPPELIN😩😩😍😍😍
Edit: im upset that they DID NOT know zeppelin
Saying Uptown Girl is the only worthwhile Billy Joel song is a sin
"My Life" and "Just the Way You Are" are two of the greatest songs of the '70s.
Y'all need to have them listen to Electric Light Orchestra, so they can be amazed.
The Beatles?! Elton John?! Well, I guess they have to guess something.
People get Elton John and Billy Joel confused all the time, actually. They're both pianists whose careers overlap and their names even have the same number of letters...
What's even more impressive is that they knew it was Immigrant Song...but didn't know it was Led Zeppelin.
You should name this the "Re-education of College Kids".
"Sounds like the beatles"... Girl! Its Billy Joel...like come on
Im from New York so I am probably disproportionally upset that they did not know Piano Man by Billy Joel. But I am appropriately upset that no one got The Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin
Also, how do you not know the difference between Led Zeppelin & Black Sabbath? I thought Morgan knew her music.
true, but in a lot of ways its easy to confuse the two. they're two of the three major groups that paved the path for heavy metal (deep purple being the third) and both are associated with the same era, which makes it easy to confuse them if they're not your core genre. even the bands have noticed similarities. paranoid almost got scrapped because it sounded too similar to communication breakdown. (Glad it didn't tho, i love that song.)
How did none of them know that was Led Zeppelin? Seriously?
I think it's because when a song is featured in a movie (this song was featured in Shrek 3 and Thor Ragnarok), you don't always think to look up the artist.
We need to do 60s music ! Why haven't we seen a : "Do College Kids Know 60s Music" yet? Do it !
Not a single person knew led zeppelin.... God damn kids are so deprived....
Not deprived. Clueless. All that great music still exists, they just choose to ignore it in favor of the formulaic autotuned sonic pablum that passes for music these days.
Why are they deprived? They just don't know some songs and they don't have to and that's fine
@@aziel9141 They're deprived of some of the greatest bands and songs to ever exist and all the joy that they bring with them.
It's a damn crime these kids didn't recognize Immigrant Song as Led Zeppelin.
wilderun04 I mean they really should because that song was just used in Thor ragnorak.
Good point, plus we have the technology, but still, a lot of things from the 70s we could use today, starting with the music.
Immigrant song was in School of Rock and Thor Ragnarok...come on kids
See now I was upset about people not knowing Immigrant Song by: Led Zeppelin, but I was absolutely pissed when ONLY ONE PERSON got Piano Man by: Billy Joel. Like are you kidding me?
You cut off The Immigrant Song before its AMAZING BASS roll..... OMG.... that's like sacrilege!!!
No one knew Led Zeppelin????? That's just sad. PS Blondie is the band, the singer is Debbie Harry
Come on, anyone that’s heard Zeppelin before should be able to recognize that that’s Robert Plant 😖
How do you not know Led Zeppelin.. one of the greatest rock bands in the history of music..
Few people know Fats Domino, the most successful rock artist in the 1950s. Time is just passing these acts by.
Yall broke my heart on zeppelin.
accidentprown no one knew it. How sad. And that Billy Joel one. Elton John? Really???
3:56 Blondie were a band
You guys should do more 70s! David Bowie, The Who, Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, The Doors!!!
How did no one know Led Zeppelin? One of the most recognizable voices in all of music; Robert Plant!?
Facepalm at the girl who said Piano Man was by the Beatles. Kudos to the girl who said correctly it was Billy Joel
I just love the misconception of “Blondie” being the name of the singer. “Blondie” is the name of the band. The singer is Debbie Harry.
70’s music just makes you feel good
Here I am weeping at the fact that nobody knew Led Zeppelin.
Nobody knows Fats Domino, the biggest, in terms of both size and sales, rock artist in the 1950s. Time will eventually pass acts by.
@@orlock20 Except that Led Zeppelin is still recognized and sung today. This group of kids represents a small portion of modern society.
How in the world do you confuse Led Zeppelin with Black Sabbath? Ok I grew up in the 70s so I will excuse these guys for not knowing.
Forget confusing Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. How do you POSSIBLY confuse Robert Plant with Ozzy Osbourne?
I'm 24 and i can't confuse both bands... but i grow up listening to them, my parents used to listen, people are raised differently.
You all are missing the fact that there was confusion between Billy Joel and The Beatles.
The Beatles.
In a video about 70s music.
Led zep comes on and I was waiting for all of them to say "oh!, Thor" but none did....wait..what?
The greatest moment in REACT history, "Paris Hilton recorded it in 2006." "GROSS!"
I love that they knew the melody of Heart Of Glass but they didn't know the title and the singer. They are all forgiven. Love these kids. Hahaha
It was originally a Ska/Reggae song, like The Tide is High, but they turned it into the Iconic Dance hit
I’m upset nobody knew Zeppelin
Garth Palmer was just about to say the same!!! CRUSHES MY SOUL! Wasn’t alive in the 70’s but...C’MON! ZEPPELIN IS LIFE!!!!
you think he's more well known than Zeppelin, the 4th highest selling musical act of all timee?
I see Robert Plant, I click
Blondie isnt a person, its a band. The lead singer is Debbie Harry.
I said the exact same thing when they were making those comments in the video haha.
Go easy with young Millennials, I would be happy enough if they could recognise Blondie which they couldn't... sigh!
I'm a big fan of Bill Withers, but when 'Lean on Me' came on I knew very few of them (if any) would know who it is. Such an underappreciated artist.
How do they not know Led Zeppelin or Billy Joel
BILLY JOEL and Green day are two of my ultimate faves artists and bands. I often think if I have a son I'll name them Billy, heck my grandpa was William and his nickname was Willie, so I'll name him after them
the fact that only 1/8 people knew piano man was billy joel makes me sad
I am seriously shocked and offended that they can’t tell Zep and Sabbath apart. It fills me deep inside with pure fury
Only one of them getting Piano Man and Billy Joel is the most embarrassing moment in Do They Know It history.
Yes it is. If you got a problem with that you’re gonna have to get ogre it.
“it soumds lile the beatles” Hurt Me
"Is it Piano Man by The Beatles" hurt me more. I am surprised tho, I thought Billy Joel was big in the US and had a large following. I guess he wasn't as big in the states as I thought he was.
The “Lean on me” song is what we need today to bring people together. Cause so many kids are being bullied and some people aren’t even doing a thing to stop it. That’s why we need this song today
The Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin was featured in Thor: Ragnarok. I mean....
This HURT!!!!!!!! Especially when Brandon said "get your Grampa moves on" & how can you ONLY know "ONE" Billy Joel song!!!!
“I’ve been listening to 70s music”
Uh huh
I'm so disappointed that no one got Led Zeppelin 😭 They are my favourite band of all time and i was born in the 90s.
Same! I went to the room and play Led Zeppelin very loud and I told my son this is Led Zeppelin FFS never forget hahaha , my daughter is a bit older know them and like them also a kid from the 90's
We who grew up in the 60's and 70's had the best music ever. It was a great time to be an adolescent and a teenager back then.
I didn't grow up though 60s and 70s but my favourite music comes from then except a couple from 50s or earlier.
Immigant Song by Black Sabbath. That's it, I'm off.
No one knew Led Zeppelin, excuse me a minute *gets up and goes to bar to drown out sorrow*
Ahhhhhhhh, when people said piano man was by Elton John, it drove me CRAZY 😫
No one knows Led Zep.
Shame is not even enough word for what you should be feeling.
What they should be feeling is almost as strong as one should feel for calling Led Zeppelin 'Led Zep'.
It's 'Led Zeppelin', in full, or just 'Zep'. Those are the only two correct ways of referring to that band.
Yes Brittany we need to go back to the 70's music because bands back then made music for the music first. Plus they actually had to have talent to play instrument and sing. Back then there was no help from computer programs. Also the 60's and 70's were the decades that have the best music.
Zero. Zero knew Led Zeppelin. I've lost faith in the world.
Next time put in a Queen song!
Be careful though not to make it too obvious (like Bohemian Rhapsody) but not hard.
I would say do something like Somebody To Love!
that was enough to make a Led Zeppelin fan cry :( Thank God I brought my kids up on all of my music. They would have killed it on this game lol
Ah! These episodes are the highlight of my week, every single week. I literally do a countdown to every Sunday for the "Do They Know It" episodes. But not so much on "Do Parents Know Modern Music" because I'm more attuned to the older music and the nostalgic feel of older music.
But seriously, I love it when FBE do the pre-2000 music. Those were my times.
They say they love '70s music but nobody knows Led Zeppelin wtf
The 1970s was probably the most diverse decade in therms of music ever. Jazz, country, blues, rock, rap disco, funk, classical, neo classical, soul, gospel and reggae were all on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100.
"It was really hard to be a woman in the music scene in the 70's"
--Clueless college kid
Eric seems like the kind of guy I would like to chill with he seems really cool.
Breaks my heart that none of the kids knew Led Zeppelin.
Piano man by THE BEATLES.. you got it girl
I was so happy they recognized Piano Man and then it all came crashing down /sob
So sad, not even a single one of these fellows knew Led Zeppelin.
Besides On Blue Berry Hill, how many other Fats Domino songs do you know? Fats Domino was the most successful rock act of the 1950s.
Time is just passing these acts by.
Immigrant Song by far the best song here. Led Zeppelin ROCKS!
Suggestions:
10cc - Dreadlock Holiday (1978)
Nazareth - Love Hurts (1975)
Sister Sledge - We Are Family (1979)
David Bowie - Heroes (1977)
Steve Miller Band - Fly Like An Eagle (1976)
Abba - Knowing Me, Knowing You (1976)
Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing (1978)
Rupert Holmes - Escape (The Pina Colada Song) (1979)
HOW DID ONLY ONE OF THEM KNOW PIANO MAN WAS BY BILLY JOEL? I SCREAMED
It makes me sad only 1 person knew Billy Joel sang piano man. Oh well at least I’ll get to see him live July 27th 😃
Sheila broke my heart a bit by not knowing Earth, Wind and Fire
I know, it's very sad. She used to be exceptional at knowing the elements, but then, everything changed when the fire nation attacked!
I love 70s music, I agree with the girl who said we should head back there music wise
I literally started bawling when piano man came
Next time they need some "God Save the Queen" as sung by John Lyndon of one of the original British Punk bands
Yaaaaaaaassss!! Earth wind and fire!!!!😍
We need a whole episode of college kids and/or teens react to Earth Wind & Fire.
How tf do you get Zeppelin and Sabbath mixed up!?
Warren Zevon - Desperados Under The Eaves
Billy Joel - Vienna (How about that, Dionte!)
Al Green - Love And Happiness
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man
Creedence Clearwater - Have You Ever Seen The Rain
Play some The Clash to them next time (London Calling, for example)
A Horse With No Name - America
Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond
something by James Taylor
Funkytown
I know You're so Vain from How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days. That's how I remember that song.
Lmfao “The Piano Man by The Beatles” so many things wrong with that statement
My grandkids (10 & 6) love 70s music. They ways request that XM channel when they get in the car. I honestly think they like it so much cause it's real people, playing real instruments compared to all the computerized & auto-tuned vocals of today. I'm hoping real bands/ vocalists are coming back.
These kids really need to educate themselves on real music, I mean imagine not knowing Led Zeppelin! The one that really hurt me though was when Morgan thought Blondie was a person, honey that's the name of the band, lead singer is called Debbie Harry!
Same but I think its just what you grow up with like I'm a teen and love both Zeppelin and Blondie but that's just cause I grew up listening to them so it is what it is I guess
That would be like people from Gen X having to listen to the Big Band era to hear "real music."
7:41 Thor Ragnarok baby!!!!!
How about Do Elders Know 50's Music? They probably heard a lot of classic 50's songs when they were young, but may not remember titles and artists any more. The channel often talks about 70's music, but there were great songs on the 50's and early 60's, too...
The piano man one made me hurt on the inside
Haha yeah and that kid only knew "Uptown Girl". That's a decade past all his classics.
why am I not shocked that the girl still stuck in the 2007 scene kid phase doesn’t know any good music...
Eric's got a great idea here !! You should do a karaoke version of these music challenge, it vould be so coool !!!
Do some Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, more Led Zeppelin lol... 70's are so great
Rollerhead 99 Hendrix didn’t have a lot of 70s except for Band of Gypsys.
Immigrant Song I was yelling at the screen by Led Zeppelin and than I hear Black Sabbath my life won’t ever be the same...
When they did not know know Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song, I almost cried! And they thought it was by Black Sabbath!? Damn...
I'm so glad my Queen Morgan is back doing these videos more often
I like that he goes "I've watched That 70's Show like 5 times" but didn't recognize Zeppelin. Hyde would kick you, man.
well, to be fair, he is Eric... Hyde kicks Eric anyway
😂
And then sexually harass everyone.
Hyde's in the big House right now.
