Fun fact: Super Silhouette was originally a race series with only 2 main rules: Doors and roof must stay original, and engine displacement must stay within 10% of oem
Having used to buy Hot Rod magazines at the drug stores from 1970 to about 1983, those vintage race cars were a part of my teen years and beyond. They bring back so many memories, Awesome just Awesome!
The Matte Black Lexus is super nice! I love it out of the 2 set!
Two teeny-tiny differences I can see with the Skyline Super Silhouettes are that the sidepod on the newer release has a bit of a darker shade of red and the front-side indicators are orange instead of yellow. Other than those, they are virtually identical which is very disappointing.
We're getting into Mattel's "trying to get fired" period with these Skylines lol. Like in Rocko's Modern Life, when Rocko had a TV show. He wanted the show to tank, so he aired a full episode of a jar of mayonnaise, to which the audience responded with "sheer genius".
I finally picked up the funny car two pack. If I come across the mopar set, I’ll pick it up

Yeah that skyline set is a total bust with two complete repeat castings in it. Second set is alright but again another repeat and the Plymouth doesn’t do much for me. Third set is the best because I never got the brz in that color and that Lexus is fantastic looking! 😎
Like the classic race set and That is a cool Lexus. I can see it posing next the old sc 400 Hot wheels did back in the 90's. I wonder If the Lexus sc400 will return?
Funny that you mention that. I have an sc400 in real life. I knew there was a hotwheel of it and one day i found it at our local swap meet. I kid you not it was at the very top of the bucket. I had my friend customize it and it looks exactly like my car
Had my O face on with the Belvedere Max Wedge and the altered wheel base car AF/X car.👀🤪
Bud Faubel ran The Honker and it had several revisions including a twin turbo intercooled HEMI in the same altered wheel base style Coronet in 1966 which was pretty cutting edge stuff.

I feel lucky both Ford GT are different. Castrol GT is close but enough of a change that I’m not disappointed. Really doesn’t take much to make me happy.
I haven't seen these two-packs at my local Target in ages, I'm still waiting to find that set with the two Lambos

Technically the complaint you have about the R30 Silouhette is applicable to the Lexus RCF too. It rides too high for being a GT3 racer type. 🤷🏾♂️

The Lexus is really cool, except it looks like it’s in transport mode. It would have looked so much better slammed down in race height! Like a minigt/Kaido house car. IMO
I have the red Plymouth Belvedere Max Wedge on my wall in a row of Mopars. Hot Wheels Garage 2011 was an amazing series but 2011 was a great year for premiums in general since it was also the year of Vintage Racing.
The colours on the Max Wedge are pretty obviously a Sox & Martin homage. I have a couple of Sox & Martin cars from the original Dragstrip Demons and Vintage Racing but the Max Wedge is a couple of model years earlier than the Belvedere they dragged so that's probably why Mattel opted for a generic Mopar livery.

Hey man like watching your stuff for a while. Have you seen a base variation and blister variation on the new El Segundo Coupe? Have one that's bluish chrome and has a different blister.

If someone 3D prints some chock blocks for these cars on turntables they could change the game , or at least stop the cars from rolling lol. Love the content!

I’m a big fan of the vintage racing, and drag strip demons. It’s too bad that new two pack coming out doesn’t have two new cars instead of the repeat…
4:00 looking at the skylines side by side, it feels like the R34 is a modern 2022 hot wheels casting, but the R30 looks like a casting thats at least 25 years old, it just looks so bad, and the RWB porsche that came on the same set looks just as good as the R34 quality wise
They should have done a race car paint job on the Lexus RCF GT3 instead of the black color.

There is a big problem with Mattel’s distribution of their products. I have yet to see the release before this one here in Virginia. West coast and Texas seem to get everything on time and plenty of it. It takes for ever to see anything here. Don’t understand what the deal is.

Old gassers did. But... they don't have wide tires in the front. They had skinny tires up front. Sometimes Mattel gets it right, sometimes not.

ikr same in my city 😭 it sucks… been so long since i seen a premium… feels like the store buy one or two box and when its all gone… onto the next set and rinse n repeat 😢 please Target just keep the premiums in stock until everyone gets a chance to buy one and until u start seeing them just sitting on the shelves.

Even the matte black on the Lexus looks pixelated or something. The paint in tampos on hot wheels premium looks terrible nowadays the main lines look better.
