I don’t know football like Murf does and this video definitely leaves me realizing why I haven’t understood the varying levels of performance we’ve seen out of the defense. It definitely feels like we’re just not quite cemented yet with the overall game plan and fundamentals. There is a lot of talent in this team but not a lot of consistency. I think long term good coaching is going to make the difference. I know Macdonald is in his first year so I’m not mad at him but I hope he can be more strict with some of these guys as we move forward. Missed tackles feels like one of the biggest correctable things this team needs to address and that feels like it comes from drilling in fundamentals. That and being disciplined in gap assignment seems like it can go a long way toward overall defensive performance. I hope that as Mike Macdonald gets more used to the other responsibilities he has as a head coach that he can really do his thing with the defense. Year 1 is almost always gonna be shaky no matter who it is. Pete, Shanahan, McVay, Belichick, Reid, etc., all these head coaches have losing records their first year.
I agree with your assessment. It makes me feel better about the defense! They just need to mesh better and stay in their lanes. All will work itself out!
I swear, I'm not sure I've ever seen Spoon just try to tackle. He goes up high to punch with his left hand every time, and that's why he gets shucked off.

Agree with Murf on ‘Spoon this year. Too many missed tackles, mostly being too aggressive running full speed at the runner getting easily juked. Also poor technique not squaring up.
Yeah, this was definitely a tough watch, but I'm going to be honest and say that I felt it coming because our run defense was just not disciplined enough. You hit the nail on the head with that one. Bills are too talented of a rushing attack to get away with that stuff for long. Hats off to the Bills and their fans. They showed up and showed out. I'm very encouraged with the tackling from the MLB spot now. Reminds me of Bobby out there. Nice to see, but this is still a very young team and they have to learn. Thanks for the breakdown, Murf. Hawks come off as schizophrenic and undirected. If a team is a reflection of their coaches personality,as some would say, then whatever issues they are having as a team are not entirely happening on the field, the on field results seem more of just a reflection of whatever the hell is going on with coaching/organisation. Halfway through the season and this narrative/excuse of give them time is already worn out fan/media speak imo Everyone in this organisation are well paid grown men who at the end of the day face and deal with the same challenges as any other team. I'm saying that if he had gone for the tackle he would of had a tackle but didn't hopefully that's clear to you. Also I have seen some comments ab you in other people's comments that also cover the seahawks and honestly thay are not wrong drop the act @TopBillinRoids
@BennyHausia - You thinking I give a shit what other people say about me is as wild as telling me what others say about me. Hit , "Don't recommend channel." Thanks
Seems like its a Do Your Job issue?
Definitely not how Baltimore's personnel got down.
Spoon has not been great this year I’m not gonna lie….
Is discipline a coaching issue? Or guys just feeling desperate at the game wears on or what? Schneider has made 2 trades already to get defensive personnel that fits what Macdonald wants to do. I also feel the personnel like is a bit cheesy.
Hawks come off as schizophrenic and undirected.
If a team is a reflection of their coaches personality,as some would say, then whatever issues they are having as a team are not entirely happening on the field, the on field results seem more of just a reflection of whatever the hell is going on with coaching/organisation.
Halfway through the season and this narrative/excuse of give them time is already worn out fan/media speak imo
Everyone in this organisation are well paid grown men who at the end of the day face and deal with the same challenges as any other team.
Poor choices and bad mistakes are two totally different things and Seattle is fast becoming prolific at committing to both.
YMMV ✌️
