      I think fans need to discern that each team played aren't robots, they are teams with different levels of talent. Buffalo is a much better overall team than Atlanta. The Falcons struggle in the trenches and Buffalo excels in the trenches. You can see Seattle struggles with the teams that have elite trench play, bro.

    I don’t know football like Murf does and this video definitely leaves me realizing why I haven’t understood the varying levels of performance we’ve seen out of the defense. It definitely feels like we’re just not quite cemented yet with the overall game plan and fundamentals. There is a lot of talent in this team but not a lot of consistency. I think long term good coaching is going to make the difference. I know Macdonald is in his first year so I’m not mad at him but I hope he can be more strict with some of these guys as we move forward. Missed tackles feels like one of the biggest correctable things this team needs to address and that feels like it comes from drilling in fundamentals. That and being disciplined in gap assignment seems like it can go a long way toward overall defensive performance. I hope that as Mike Macdonald gets more used to the other responsibilities he has as a head coach that he can really do his thing with the defense. Year 1 is almost always gonna be shaky no matter who it is. Pete, Shanahan, McVay, Belichick, Reid, etc., all these head coaches have losing records their first year.

    Ugh, once again seeing Witherspoon dive at the RB and not wrap up. It looked like he was trying to punch the ball out. Either way, he’s an example of us not getting the production out of our star players. For a first round pick, JSN has been underwhelming as well. He looks like a 4.6 guy when we needed another burner that opens up the field like DK.

    • @TopBillinSports
      @TopBillinSports  День тому +6

      Nah, Seahawks need someone who can catch 12 passes a game in the quick game with sure hands. He can catch 12 passes a game because his route running is very dope and he understands zone spacing, but his hands are suspect as well. But he's technically still the 3rd option. You can have whomever you think they need and they still be the 3rd option because of Lockett's tenure and presence. With no Lockett, Smith-Njigba kills it.

    • @andrewcarlson2178

    This one i find hard to figure out, like I think it's easy to blame the players now, as they did some of the same stuff when Pete was here. Mike said himself, they can't do the basics so they don't get to do the fun stuff, (basically in a nutshell) so is it talent? Well sometimes you have amazing play out of these players and some games you look at them and think a high school football team can do better lol. Could be just discipline, Pete seemed more relaxed and let's have fun, maybe some players need a reality check and pay more attention. Seattle has a first year head coach all brand new staffing, could be just adjustment period and could eventually just things just click. But as football fans we just expect everything to work out perfectly.

    How should we understand the balance between discipline and aggressiveness?
    As a human I understand both concepts (discipline and aggression) but, damn, it's gotta be hard to keep your head when playing a full-contact sport like football.
    Is it about keeping your head 100% of the time, or are there times when players should be playing "hero-ball"?

    Is discipline a coaching issue? Or guys just feeling desperate at the game wears on or what? Schneider has made 2 trades already to get defensive personnel that fits what Macdonald wants to do. I also feel the personnel like is a bit cheesy.

    Hawks come off as schizophrenic and undirected.
    If a team is a reflection of their coaches personality,as some would say, then whatever issues they are having as a team are not entirely happening on the field, the on field results seem more of just a reflection of whatever the hell is going on with coaching/organisation.
    Halfway through the season and this narrative/excuse of give them time is already worn out fan/media speak imo
    Everyone in this organisation are well paid grown men who at the end of the day face and deal with the same challenges as any other team.
    Poor choices and bad mistakes are two totally different things and Seattle is fast becoming prolific at committing to both.
    YMMV ✌️
