Glad it was helpful to you! The weight vest is from Kensui Fitness. I actually just put out a video review on the vest yesterday: ua-cam.com/video/m9U0pcCzYP0/v-deo.html
So far I have made a all in one weight tree and barbell rack with hooks for accessories out of scrap wood bed slats and steel pipe. Also a landmine plate out of ply wood, a castor wheel fork and steel pipe to hold the barbell, some collars and handles to go with it too. Looks almost like what you'd get in the shops. I couldn't be happier. Plenty more to come as the home gym gets built.
Nice! That's the beautiful thing about DIY equipment. Two people can dream up two completely different concepts that accomplish the same goal. I like the landmine idea.
Made my own cable system thanks to your previous video! The calf raise cable set up and using the chains to allow 2 handles on the cable are great ideas!
Hi , I made several attachments for my pulley system using nylon dog training lead. It’s incredibly strong and once knotted stays knotted. It’s very cheap and much smoother and less ‘clanky’ than chain.
Ahhh. I like this idea a lot! I think that'd be perfect for two leg lying let curls. It's always hard to get the chain the exact same length on both sides. Often times it'd feel like one leg had one link of extra length.
Absolute favorite DIY stuff is all my strongman stuff, I've made a custom axle that's literally just galvanized steel tubing from Menard cut down to 7ft with duct tape collars, I also have a ton of old tires cuss they're free, diy deadluft platform, and even though they're not diy a pair of gymnastic rings are super versatile
I took an old wooden pallet from someone's house (they were throwing it out following some construction material delivery - I did ask first!), took it apart and used the planks to make a weight storage similar to your fishtank one, with a few dividing bits of wood to help sort plates and keep other accessories. Also "built" my own pulley system in pretty much the same way as you, but use my loaded barbell across my lap to weigh me down for lat work. Nice vid, have sub'd!
The easiest design would be to make a triangle with 2x4s that have a middle bracket for support and 2 feet like the one in this video: ua-cam.com/video/DMzKhZKhpqc/v-deo.html I recently got the chance to speak with the guy who runs this channel. He seems like a cool guy. Let him know I sent you over to check out his video.
For my pully I made a thing for the low row it’s a sheet of mdf board with my low pully on that and I can take it away very easily and I’ll have more space, I can do cable curls belt squats low rows all of that
I've actually changed how I do the lat pulldowns. It's faster to just put 1-2 plates on a bench and strap yourself down. The towing strap is just a cheap $2 strap from Walmart.
@@RyanTreadaway Wow any chance there is a video of this? So the plates are under bench like in your video where it’s under chair and then u put strap under plates and strap over your legs?
Can you do a more detail video about the kreative way to use the single cable system? I have also a cable system on my rack, but your examples showed me that there are so much more exercises.
The exercises I shared are what I feel are the most created exercises. You could perform basically any exercise with a cable though. Various bicep curls, tricep extensions, pulldowns, rows, leg extensions, leg curls, calves, lateral raises, crunches, neck ext, neck curl, etc.
I enjoyed the video because now I can create a seated calf raise, I want to make a pull up bar that can work with my squat rack. But thank you for sharing the foam (pool noodles) that can be used to help take some of the weight off our legs.
Most definitely! Glad I could help. I just finished recording a video for a DIY calf platform that'll be up a week from Sunday so be sure to check that out as well. It goes nicely with the DIY calf machine. 😎
Hey Ryan, My current squat rack/ bench press has a high pulley and low pulley system. If I wanted to for example chest flys (yes I can do them with DB on a flat bench or use rubber bands) however, do you know a secret/ tip/ attachment of how to turn a single pulley into two uses (like for a chest flys
24'' 2X4 wood and a barbell, standing calve raises. Much less complicated than the seated system. Safety Squat Bar extra points, more comfortable and able to use arms for balance on uprights.
Much less complicated, yes but I want to be able to do both seated and standing calves to emphasize both the soleus and gastrocnemius. I just finished building a dedicated calf block, which I'll be showing in a future video.
This is not a straight DIY, but for example you could buy a cheap, $30 dip bars with the square tubing and fill with quikrete, which is cheap, and that thing will support some serious weight
Braided vinyl tape wrapped in black gorilla tape over the safeties. Safeties slide right through it. Post landmine for $20-$30. Welded a 6 inch piece of 2" black pipe to a steel plate (found a plate that railroad tracks sit on) and drop the landmine onto it.
I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B

Where do you get the barbell sleeve to attach the bar for the calf raise machine?
Do you mean where did I purchase it from? I got it on Amazon. I think I have a link in the description.
Solid advice brother

For a landmine, you can cut a tennis ball and out in on the end of the barbell and then out it in a corner.
