Key points that I found interesting: 1. Risk factor: ME doesn't manufacture anything themselves. Manufacturing under a non-exclusive contract. No special formulations. 2. Marketing is the key value proposition. "House of Brands" - 40% of revenue goes into marketing. Where will the margin come from? 3. ME claims to be an online D2C brand, but 36% revenue offline. ME is making more profit in offline sales. Pays distributors upto 50% in offline sales, while others like HUL are at 20% or less. 4. Valuation!!!! 24000 crore. While making a profit of less than 15 crore. And for these reasons, I'm out! Thanks Shrehith. Missed a point, probably not mentioned in the DRHP, that Amazon is not charging the same commissions from ME as other sellers on the platform. Any change to the commission structure with Amazon will heavily impact the bottom line.
Dude, got to love your passion to tell a story in simplified manner which has lot of technical info in it. loved it. thank you for Finshot and this video.
Okay, let's just take a moment to appreciate the production team! What a brilliant job you guys have done to make this long video interesting! Loved the energy of the cofounder. But from a fellow video creator's viewpoint i'm amazed that how you guys kept a 29 mins long video this engaging. No fancy unnecessary stock videos, green screen and flashes, just pure lighting, framing, cuts and transitions. The videographers - great job with framing and lighting, and editors,, hats off! cuts are so subtle and impactful that you'll never know when you're getting dragged into the video. my whole point is - I totally forgot that I was watching a youtube video on IPO analysis! and that too is 30 mins long!! I always wondered what happened with Finshots not posting anything on their channel. But it seems like they took their own sweet time to get a solid production crew and start with a boom. I'm definitely gonna show this to future clients if they ask for typical fancy production. One request, please don't transition to this from your newsletters. Yesterday I didn't watch this one because I didn't have time to watch this. Kudos!
Quite shocked i went through the complete video. It was so interesting & full of energy. The text (email) format had its own advantages, as the reader could read at his/her own pace, research a bit in between. But many a times, the article/email would have left in between. The video format, keeps people hooked to listen to the whole analysis. Kudos to the entire team!
For a person who never understood finance, finshot was a great way to learn about it. This is a level up! I absolutely love it. Would prefer a lil shorter video but obviously with your beautiful energy! 💛 Cheers Shrehith, keep em coming 🌼
I completely agree with you! Finshots has been a game-changer for me as well in understanding finance. The level up on UA-cam is fantastic and I'm so happy to see it.
@@finshotstv I would still recommend long-form videos for folks who like a deeper analysis. Maybe try out 2 versions of the same content - One is in 3-5 mins reels format and another in a long-form format of 30 (which technically is 20 mins when you watch it in 1.5X)
The best explanation on Mama Earth IPO saga on the internet, Yes Mama Earth is a marketing powerhouse, in every tier 3 towns' shops have positioned the MaMa Earth product. Expect from Mamaearth all other cosmetics / consumers beauty products are from the legacy brands like Nivea, Johnson and Johnson etc. Your explanation is on the point. All the best to all the Finshot team for this new video series endeavour.
i'm the one who usually never sits thru a 28-min long news video, but within the first 2 mins i was glued...found it simply amazing, love your style, passion, research and to-the-point insights. keep it up, looking forward to next one!
What a video. Love that you have Philip Kotler's Marketing Management book on your shelf which you bring to your shelf's right corner in the middle of the video. 😀 Such a great explainer. As a marketing major, I could relate so much to this video. Can't wait to watch your upcoming videos.
Honestly speaking I clicked on the link thinking I'm going to stay for 2 to 3 minutes. But i watched totally without being bored. Loved your presentation, your speech skills are absolutely great👏👍.
Great video and good research. You missed an important risk. Today Mamaearth has special seller status Amazon whereby they pay very less commission to them, which can be increased anytime. This risk is not mentioned in the DRHP.
I was using the mama earth product since fittuber has suggested it.. but they are too expensive.. Dont know whether they are really toxin free or not.. but always wondering just because its organic why should the price be too much.. now everything is clear..!! Thanks man.. great job🤟
This presentation was worth my half hour... I am a CA student doing equity research... And honestly this research is totally worth it.. the best part was finding what are the limitations like what are the problems because in any DHRP any company would be showing what is good. AND ofcourse ur reaction after the valuation of 24000 cr. Keep gng
It was charming meeting you Shre. Loved your drama, action and as always - the statements, way you write them down. In this case - Speak it out. And of-course - Deeply researched, hard worked, detailed report. Great job buddy.
Good presentation and good research . Just a suggestion, the video is so long considering the content, pls cut it short to below 10 mts so that the repetition can be avoided.
It's fully upto the viewer to decide which one is better - shorter or longer segments. It's definitely a fair ask to want shorter content, but I don't think this channel should take that direction. Long form, well-researched content is missing today. Short form surface level content is available in many places. Since the creator does a good job with long form, I'd suggest keep the content long-form.
Brilliant video, excellent job enlighting the retail investor and explaining the details in a simplified way and precise way. Keep up the good work Shrehith and Finshot !!
Keep it up bro! This seems to be your first video and the camera induced anxiety is palpable but this will only get better with time. You can try to trim your videos so that they become crisper so that the user feels engaged and not exasperated after looking at the 29 minute run time.
Nicely done! Presenting both sides of the equation. Most videos are biased from the start, but this is a way better format as we really get to understand the nitty grittier of it. I almost feel like I wear thru the whole document myself. Thank you
Finshots at its best as usual.. very clear explanation. The facts were laid out very clearly and straight without any honey coating. I did feel the video was a bit long even though I watched it at 1.25x.. but at the same time I am not able to find areas where u can trim it further - because almost all points were relevant, linked and important to convey the story
It's crazy deep dive into data, one must appreciate such content, these days everybody want everything in 30sec but that's not the way to get some meaningful content. Keep doing the great job and consider me your regular viewer from now on and you'll build a strong permanent viewership through such researched videos.
What is the reason for suggesting to watch at 1.5x, did you publish a slowed down version by mistake or you want to get cheeky and increase the view time 👀? Great content btw!
Loved the video, gotta give it to you guys for presenting it the way. It did actually go like a story so easy and interesting to follow for someone who's a newbie to the business world. Couple of things a I loved were the delivery for sure the pause etc, the random whipping out of products and items oddly fun to see that! The video obviously could be shorter but nevertheless content had me on the edge of my seat for more. Great job :) Just a suggestion tho maybe the transition effects could be effect more aligned to the theme it gave thriller movie intro vibes :p
Very well scripted, really loved the up's and down's roller coaster narrative throughout video🙂Keep up the good work buddy, channel will grow 👍 Next video suggestion, make a video on Adani hindenburg report.
I have just one question, if mamaearth don't manufacture its own products it is the VA lifescience who manufacture products . How come mamaearth has asia first and only "made safe certification ". Initially company heavily marketed this that we are only made safe certified brand. And why can't big companies like HUL does not have this certificate and this certificate even worth it ??????????? This part I think you missed
I like the text format much more. Please don’t take it away. Create a video in addition to the text format if you wish to reach video audience. The text format is so much on point and helps me pause and ponder over something while I read at my pace. The video is full of fluff.
Great video sir. I have always been a fan of Finshots with how your team simplifies complex concepts in layman's terms. Thanks for this great explanation. I appreciate your enthusiasm in reading the 400-page DRHP. I can never imagine doing that.. I am actually surprised to hear that you have been doing it since 2018. I would really love to see a video from you on how to read and analyse a DRHP, key points to keep in mind while reading them, how to draw a conclusion etc. I look forward to more videos from your page..
Well researched. Good idea to make video content. But would suggest to take some tips from professionals like adding bg music or showing random pics in between and transitions
I am a fan of finshots newsletter, the reason is it is short and to the point. This video was very informative, but was very long and could have been told in a better voice.
There is no doubt that you are a gem of content creation ! The way you explained the facts without any biasness is impeccable ! May be you can experiment with your video a bit more...In my opinion...an infographic presentation along with your video would attract more audience (Just a suggestion!)... Frankly, there is a huge trust issue in customers when they get to know that products are not manufactured by the company, and formulations are brought to market in such huge numbers- Mamaearth is marketing natural, quality and trust. This is what happened with Patanjali too eventually. Brands that are built with marketing first are technically bubbles. Only high-quality products survive in the long run. Rightfully and as expected- Mamaearth products are not very effective and not very consistent.
Have loved reading your articles. The articles have always been succinct and explaining things in a simple way. Also a sense of unbiased presentation of facts. For me the video replicates all the above values except being succinct - please try and reduce the length of the video. Thanks and all the best.
Headed here from Finshots which I have been a regular listener of. My recomendation: Content is great , but expression and noise, needs to be toned down. Its serious stuff and should be presented a little more formally with lesser drama. Content and background work is good though.
Good one Shrehith. I am a follower from Finshots and truly appreciate all you guys are doing for investor community. Very helpful efforts. Looking forward to next one.
Impressive attempt given it's your first video!! I am sure it's only going to get better from here. Wishing you loads of success and luck in the years ahead.
While I liked the video, what I love about Finshots is being able to read and understand a topic in 2 mins. So would prefer stuff in article form itself.
Most of the D2C companies are now looking at a traditional brick and mortar store. All these years, I was using only Garnier Men Face Wash and only one facewash for years. For a change I thought I will try MamaEarth Face wash after watching it in so many Vlogs. I used the Tea Tree and Charcoal Face wash and my family tried Rose Body lotion and Ubtan Body Lotion. While the facewash I used has been good so far, it's not been the same with Body Lotions. My family switched back to Vaseline body lotion. Also having so many varieties of facewash confused the daylights out of me as I am someone who suffers from an industrial bout of dilemma. Would I buy a Mama Earth Facewash again? Possibly yeah. Mamaearth shares? ???? However, during growth phase, instead of channeling their revenues only on "Marketing", they should use money to differentiate themselves as a company or possibly even diversify their business. 2-3 years from now I see an airline industry like dog fight happening inside Mama Earth. Various Family Members( Brands) in the house of brands fighting for spotlight. Like we see in TV serials, family members fighting for property. Which leads to price war (Great for shoppers) but not good for the company. If a company doesn't have diverse interests, all it takes is one bad news in the market to determine whether it's a wealth creator or destroyer. I would like to quote Warren Buffett here "Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked."
This was amazing! Can we have a similar video w.r.t the Budget 2023? It will be really helpful to understand the budget better! You where my senior at NMAMIT, good to see you after a longtime. I am also regular reader of finshot daily since 2020, also had bought a term-plan from ditto.
Finshots, while i appreciate the new foray into UA-cam, i would genuinely request you to not stop or reduce focus on the email newsletters. have been following for more than a year now and love the emails
This was a great video and unlike others didn’t find it long at all. It was really well presented but I hope next time you put sources in the description.
Okay. I have seen your video and also convinced that Mama earth is a good "Marketing company" keeping aside the " valuation number". Now my concern is that people believe, actually my mum and my sis believe so much in this brand that "mama earth toh sahi product banata hai" okay. Now this got me thinking, if they don't have patents, manufacturing facilities and control over those facilities. Do they have any internal control/ checks over the process and claiming that a product is "non-toxic"/ "healthy"? I am asking this because they might have included something related to this in DRHP. Love to know the thoughts too. BTW great video and great expression too during the video too.😃
Thoroughly researched video and is well presented. Keep up the good work. Some glitches in visuals at random intervals where video editing may have been done,
Good informative video. Please keep it up. Is it possible to make the video on Himalaya Products. The point is that many companies claim that they manufactures Ayurvedic products but if you see the contents many times they are actually pure chemicals produced in factories.
Excited to see you on UA-cam! I've been a fan of Finshots podcasts and blogs for a while and can't wait to consume your content in this new format. Keep up the great work! 👏🏻🤩
Good presentation and details though the video is long. Prefer to also get the summary in finshot daily which we could read in 5 mins. Then we have the choice to watch the video if we have time and if the topic interests us.
Most of the most reputed FMCG brands are marketing and distribution companies who do deep marketing research on consumer behavior and use that knowledge to press hard on the sales of the products which at least seem to meet consumer preference etc.... Mama Earth is doing the same and that is how the Consumer marketing work. Go around and see any products being sold by highly visible brands.
The video is an eye opener for the customers bombed with these influence marketers. 2nd it all started with Patanjali, with all natural and organic herbs in the product, Mamearth followed the same page. If anyone take good look at ingredients it all has that chemicals generally used by any fmcg companies. So basically keep your eyes open and don't fall for marketing.... Baki pyaz khaane ke liye hota hain ballon mein Lagane ke liye nahi...
It's just amazing facts, energy level and the enthusiasm 🔥 such informative content. Kindly make more videos about finance and business related. Thank youuu😊
Though I appreciate the efforts put in making the video, I still would prefer the finshots as newsletter. Would appreciate if you could make content in both formats instead of one.
Excellently done video... Brilliantly covered every aspect on the subject... But please don't discontinue your newsletters... As I love reading over watching...😊
It's a very good initiative from finshorts...looking forward for such exciting vedio content... The narrator is just osm.... He was speaking from his heart and with great expression and concern. Thank you.... ❤️ Good luck!

Absolutely loved the video. Thanks for dumbing it down for the rest of us & making it make sense. Also, hyaluronic 😂🙌🏼

Awesome Analysis, Shrehith. Every weekend I read your Finshot, the best news letter or Company analysis ever.

It does not look at all that this is your first attempt at this kind of video! A great job done
Hey Finshots!
This video is good.
But I want you to continue writing stories , they serve as a perfect article to start my day!
BTW great video and great expression too during the video too.😃
Good one Karkera.. 🎉 you crossed the 500 likes .. so looking forward for the next video !!
Loved this video
This is the type of quality content we want in india
Thoroughly researched video and is well presented. Keep up the good work. Some glitches in visuals at random intervals where video editing may have been done,
Good informative video. Please keep it up. Is it possible to make the video on Himalaya Products. The point is that many companies claim that they manufactures Ayurvedic products but if you see the contents many times they are actually pure chemicals produced in factories.
It didn't feel like it was 28 Mins long at all! Story telling at its best! Appreciate it
Just watched this at 1.25x speed and didnt know I had reached the ending. Lovely presentation and content. keep it up and keep em coming.👍
Excited to see you on UA-cam! I've been a fan of Finshots podcasts and blogs for a while and can't wait to consume your content in this new format. Keep up the great work! 👏🏻🤩
Great video. Nicely explained. I wasn't going to invest primarily for their low margins and zero mfg footprint.
Good presentation and details though the video is long. Prefer to also get the summary in finshot daily which we could read in 5 mins. Then we have the choice to watch the video if we have time and if the topic interests us.
Good stuff Shrehith! Been a fan of finshots, and excited about the video foray! watched the video at 1.5x haha :)
I have been a finshots fan since 2 years and I seeing this is a delight
Interesting info. Please keep up the good work. Video format is welcome and lot more elaborate. Look forward to many many more😊
Most of the most reputed FMCG brands are marketing and distribution companies who do deep marketing research on consumer behavior and use that knowledge to press hard on the sales of the products which at least seem to meet consumer preference etc....
Finshots will eat up economic times in no time, if the quality of content is as superb as this video.
It's just amazing facts, energy level and the enthusiasm 🔥 such informative content. Kindly make more videos about finance and business related. Thank youuu😊
Well explained....... Not only in blogs & newsletters but also you rocked in video too....
Though I appreciate the efforts put in making the video, I still would prefer the finshots as newsletter. Would appreciate if you could make content in both formats instead of one.
Good start, Shrehith and team Finshots :)
This was great!
Would be even better if you included some infographics/whiteboard scribbles etc.
Being new.. you make a good vedio analysis..Shrehith..keep it up👌
Nice Video. Would definitely like to see more! Any specific reason for not posting it in the Finshots channel(s)?
Excellently done video... Brilliantly covered every aspect on the subject... But please don't discontinue your newsletters... As I love reading over watching...😊
It's a very good initiative from finshorts...looking forward for such exciting vedio content... The narrator is just osm.... He was speaking from his heart and with great expression and concern. Thank you.... ❤️ Good luck!
Great video. Liked the long form and detailed explanation. However i hope this does not in any way or form replace the 3 min emal read.
Nice one Shrehith. Thanks for making this.
"The cream was so expensive that you couldn't even pronounce it" 😆
Still trying to figure that one out ;)
Just blown away with the content. Very neutral and deep. Keep up doing the good work.
too Long a Video.Restrict it to 15 mins or so if you want people to watch
