An engineering works train from the night before had derailed on the catch points at the bottom of the bank between Exeter Central and Exeter St Davids (Loco: Class 66 (66111) and Wagons).
As a result, FGW services to Exmouth were terminated at St Davids, replacement buses between St Davids and Central, and an hourly service between Exeter Central and Exmouth.
South West Trains services between Exeter St Davids and London Waterloo ran as usual.
Was the driver an extreme member of the Branch Line Society? He can now colour in that catch point 😆
i like the way you caught a train just to film this......
@lchampeny7nrr It was inside an engineering possesion during the night. The up and down changes in that area and there was a misunderstanding between the driver and signaller. The train was then propelled back through an open catch point. The driver involved has also been involved in 2 other SPADS over the last few months so will probably be looking for another job by now.
Great close up video of the derailment.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing. I wonder how they will recover it?
Well done video!
What caused the derailment?
Thank you.
idk
I believe the class 66 was going too fast on the bank and then clipped the catch points causing it to slid off the track mate
Nice video, liking the on train announcement you got too!
Divno 💖💖💖
Dude really high quality upload... But how?
nice train👍
I think you will have to re-write this post :
1. The train was not being propelled.
2. The Driver of this train had not had " 2 other Spads" over the last few months , not that this "mis"- information needed to be posted in the first place
I've seen that 66 very recently.
Too many announcements on trains and stations these days. I wear ear plugs
How the Fcuk, does this appear in my feed 7 years later ?
You mean EIGHT years later!!! Wondering the same thing!
woah FGW pacers
there are 20 cargo cars at the end of the derailed train (Yes i counted them)
What caused it to derail
The fat controller was not impressed
I hate 66's too, I work down at Southampton docks in the eastern and western docks and all you ever see is the class 66 EWS and freightliners coming in. Its a pig ugly locomotive and it makes a horrible engine noise its got no character to make it noticeable its just 'A train'. Unlike class 37's and 31's its not a loco you would ever look twice at and notice.
God that announcer is fast lol
My home town was on that announcement
@I'LL BE BACK ! is this a joke because it isn’t funny
@I'LL BE BACK ! my home town as in ANDOVER was on that announcement and I’m not a student
@I'LL BE BACK ! no you can’t
@I'LL BE BACK ! because I’m not a student
Here in the States we would say that the 66 is "on the ground." Never a good thing to see.
In UK it is sometimes referred to as an 'Earth-Fault'.
I say the poor chap lost his balance!
And yet another Amtrak derailment this week
Oops I don't think that was part of the plan
50/5000 :: AND THAT ONLY WITH ABSENT MAINTENANCE AND STAFF
Atleast you can hear and understand them, on Cityrail around Sydney Australia the general announcments on the trains pretty much sound like there spoken from far up somebody's ass after they've had a hot curry, then with some on the stations there fine where other's you get that high pitched note the kind that sends a shiver down your spine through your ear that nails on a chalkboard kind of note. People hate it so on most trains the volume is turnt right down to barely hearable
did i hear the announcing saying templecompe?
Templecombe
When u do more vids can u please do announcements from South West Trains I really like there announcements. Thank you.
*TOO MANY PACERS!*
I saw that.
lol u got on a train just to film
Poor train.
No I mean train announcements in SWT e.g We are now arriving at Southampton Central.
Do more vids please.
ive got that class 66 in model lol but that never derails lol
I can't stand the noise the EMD engine makes it sounds all squeaky and cranky like its either rusty or its got a loose running fan belt because the turbocharger is geared to spin at the same speed as the engines RPM and it sounds horrible. They sound like washing machines when the engines RPM rises enough to release the turbo to spin off the exhaust gasses. Horrible locomotives I can't stand the things!
O dear
Bloody student flats !
I Live in exeter
I live near u, I live in taunton
WHY SO MANY PACERS?!?!?!?!
Same there loads of them
@@swtrains1499, not for much longer, all 8 class 143 'Pacer' DMUs are leaving GWR for the franchise update and wheelchair accessibility laws coming in early 2020
@@dominicdinosaur Yeah, fair shout. Although I don't actually mind them. It'll be sad to see them go for me.
Same for me really....
