For some reason, I associate the sound of pages firmly being pressed with the sound of putting on inflatable armbands before jumping into the pool.
It has a plastickiness about it (is that a word?).
Page squeezing works beautifully on the glossy pages of the two books in this video. Both books present the wonders of the underwater world and are gorgeously illustrated. I sort of went wild with the page squeezing, let's call it page squeezing of the emphatic kind. 🙂
You won't be able to tell, but much more squeezing was going on during the recording of this video than you think. In particular of the eyelids; those were frequently squeezed shut. Why?
Let me tell you, some of those marine fish look darn ferocious. Now and again I had to avert my gaze while turning the pages 'cause when you close your eyes when faced with a monster, the monster disappears instantly, right, everybody knows that. It's a basic survival skill.
Listen to me waffle on and on. Sorry about that.

I remember as a kid being so mesmerized when the teacher would read us a book. And when she would turn the glossy pages and read the book in a low whisper I was in a trance. And she would sometimes call on me and think that I was daydreaming when I was mesmerized by what she was doing. I didn't know what ASMR was back then I just knew I liked the way she was turning the pages and reading it.
Thank you for sharing that wonderful memory. ❤ The fact that you remembered that experience proves how special ASMR truly is. Daydreaming is what keeps us sane; imagination is often better than real life. 😀

This one is tough to describe. It's like eating a brownie with walnuts and chocolate chips. I'm not really into the walnuts (squeezing) but really like the chocolate chips (tracing with metallic nails). And of course there is the rest (gentle turning pages) which is the actual brownie and always yummy. This video has left me sleepy and craving dessert. Thanks for posting Kat, I always like seeing your new videos. 🙂

I'm not the only one who enjoys page turning I love how relaxing it sounds and tingles and I was trying to figure it out as a kid always got tingles and circulation in my head and it felt so relaxing even as an adult it's nice to see pretty books and page turning thank you for this this is very relaxing I think alotta us need this relaxation!!!!!
