- For my first time ever, see my how to air dry my relaxed hair straight with no heat tools! Airdrying is amazing to keep and grow relaxed hair longer because there isn't extra direct heat to your hair. It does take time and a bit of detangling but the airdry benefits are amazing. I followed the air dry tutorial from @HealthyHairJunkie . You can see her video here: • HOW TO AIR DRY RELAXED...

This was an interesting video. When I air dry ; I simply put the products on and detangle and cross wrap the one time and it turns out the same as yours did. A little less manipulation but same concept. Great video 😊
Oh for real? When I do it again, I want to try it A) with less manipulation like you did B) with a keratin treatment
Great results... I’ve been trying air drying but after 2 hours I give up and buss out my blow dryer lol.
You're still cutting down heat that way which is good. Honestly, I may try it that way next time too
I love the way you express yourself and you’re very pretty. God bless you😘
I'll try this on a fresh relaxer and for those first 4-5 weeks. My hair is too dense to not blow out my new growth!
I feel you. I'd probably do this until it's like 80% dry and then use a blow dryer/blow dry brush or something for the roots so I won't have to use that much heat.
I air dry my hair all the time but I don't do all those step, I usually just detangle it with a comb and put some leave in conditioner and I go to sleep.great video 👍
Me too!!!!
I'm going to try that next time. My hair kept curling back up, but maybe I'll wrap it early on and that may help?
@@KM-oy5yh Gonna try that next time too
@@twolala1 Ok. .. THANKS!
Really interesting. I would love you to get your done by Deeper Than Hair she is a fantastic hairdresser not sure where she is based in the USA.
Ms Refined Deeper Than Hair is my girl!!! Love love love her videos
I gotta look her up. I love when y’all give us these suggestions!!
@@GabsHair Yes she is a next level hairdresser, really looks after her clients well.
@@twolala1 You won't regret it, she is amazing! If she were in the UK I would definitely visit her salon.
I air dry my hair but I can't do it straight. I don't think that would work well for me. My ends always dry first and they can get frizzy. But your hair turned out beautifully!!😊❤....You really did a good job.
My ends were an issue too. I need a better way to moisturize them because they get dry first. The top part of my hair was soft though
Great video! I air dry often. The key for me is to use a generous amount of moisturizer. Add my other leave- ins and oils. Next, detangle with a wide tooth comb and then gently detangle w a smaller tooth comb. When my hair is 90% dry I moisturize and seal. Comb it and then brush it w a Denman brush or paddle brush. Finally, pin my hair up into a bun and tie it with a silk scarf. Comes out super straight.
Max Germain Thanks!! I want to try a denman brush but it looks like it will be rough on my hair lol
@@twolala1 I thought so too but it's not. I tried it after I saw another UA-camr using it when she moisturizes and seals. I love it! It really helps distribute the products and tame my new growth. I use it towards the back half of my stretch and I use a paddle brush towards the first half since there's little to no new growth. Just remember to start at your ends and be gentle.
Q: how often should relax my hair?
I'm sorry but that just takes too long I rather use a blow-dryer😆 you are a great sport at going through that process so calmly
LOL..Nothing wrong with blowdrying either :) I usually relax once a year. I'm aiming for 9 months between my relaxers :)
@@twolala1 my hair grows 2 inches every month, so I try to relax my hair every 2 months, my hair is THICK an DC curly (I don't know what the hair type # are) lol, but its annoying, IDK what to do😭
Vala Dina wow you relax every 2 months?!! I can’t imagine. Have you thought about stretching your relaxers a little?
My hair love the blow dry little to no shedding, when I air dry in comb more hair was pulling out 🤷🏾♀️ my hair don’t like to be combing when products are in my hair
@@QueenVonti Yea..Next time, I'm going to try to do less combing and products too. I may just air dry til about 80% then go in with a little heat from blow dry :)
Hi! Thanks for another great video!! I air dry all the time and I love it! I dont follow all those steps though..after I finish deep conditioning, I t-shirt dry for about 10 mins, put a liquid leave in on and leave it alone for about 20 mins..then I seal with an oil while I comb out any tangles. It dries about an hour after that with a scarf to lay the edges down..My hair is much shorter compared to yours though but I find that this leaves my hair thicker than when I blow dry..I love your hair and thank you for your patience esp since you haven’t done it before! God bless and keep it up. :)
The results are so nice 😍
Thanks Sierra!
I also follow the healthy hair junkie for air drying, I use the same products she does and it turns out well. The scarf on the hair line is the best. I wash and air dry my hair every two weeks, it's a long process but I prefer it to blow drying and it gives my hair some body which I love. Your hair looked great thanks for the video.
Thanks so much!! Yes, girl it is a looong process, but I'm gonna start air drying (when I wash my hair at home) now that I know how to do it :-)
NICE, LONG, HEALTHY GOD GIVEN HAIR!!!
Thank you so much!!
@@twolala1 U R VERY WELCOME!
Your hair come out nice for first time air drying! I have that same brush to from Kareco. It gets the job done.
JMocha 74 thank you! Yes! Love this brush!
I'm a big fan of air drying and your hair looks great. I don't put no heat in my hair except when deep conditioning because I have low porosity hair.
R Mobley Yess!! That’s the good way to heat..when deep conditioning!! ❤️❤️
@@twolala1 yeah your right because I find my hair having more moisture. I don't have a hair routine yet so my hair isn't growing like it should be but I'm going to start my routine on Friday's.
@@capri102 Yay! Get it!! :)
I also tried this but it was an epic fail for me, i think i have too much texture as i texlax my hair. My edges were straight as well. I think I'll stick to my roller sets to air dry.
Roller sets are still good. Not too much direct heat. We want to do a roller set video at some point.
I air dry my hair all the time and only flat iron when I am getting a fresh relaxer. I actually sit infront of my fan on high without rotation and that helps with the air drying.
#firstonhere #firsttimeithisearly
A fan is a good idea! Especially in the summer :)
I LOATHE air drying!! I get so much breakage from it
I now aidry for like 80% then the blow dryer. It works waaay better when I don't have new growth tp deal with.
I’m gonna try this tomorrow. I pray this works😭
My hair is straight like yours but when I air dry it, it gets so big and when I part it I can’t even see my scalp but some of that is due to my new growth and me needing a touch up on my relaxer.
Washed and conditioned like you normally do get you a leave-in spray conditioner comb your hair straight back if you want to lay down get a satin durag make sure your hair is damp not soaking wet when it gets halfway dry then put your moisturizer in coming through braided twisted leave it alone and put your durag back on it next morning you'll see the difference but it takes time for your hair to adjust to air drying I do it all the time my hair is the same length as yours.
Thanks! Yea my hair was caught off guard with the air drying lol!
Hey 1st Hi Ebony. I do that a lot! Haven't had heat since June 2018 wow!! Just comb and leave in conditioner and boom air dry!! Though mines take sooo long to air dry but hey, I managed to do low manipulation and no heat! Still nice almost straight look!
Yea, I underestimated how long airdrying takes. I'll do it again though if I set aside time :)
Cool! Do you think you’ll incorporate this into your routine?
NaturallyCorporate Yes! Whenever I wash my hair at home. I’ll let it air dry about 80% and then go in with a blow dryer (My Rev Air) to help it along. That way heat is reduced :)
Great Content!! I air dry but only on flexi rod when cutting back on the heat . So week on the flexi rod ( my goal) and Week on the roller set and flat iron ( on this week I do A protein treatment) . You know I have been seeing curly Proverbs do Ayurvedic Herbs. Yes, she is Natural. I have seen a few Relaxer Hair ladies with Ayurvedic Herbs. What do yo all think?
Your hair looks great air dryed and it's better this way without the heat I too air dry my hair. 😀😀😀
Thank you! It’s going to
Come in handy during the summer too!
I am going to try it for sure😄👍
Nice!
Should have wrapped it! That what i do. Comes out beautiful
Do you have advice for underprocessed hair ? I wanted to relax but it turned out to be texlaxed . I'm 6 week post and wants to relax my hair again
Hey did you relax it or did you have someone else doit at a salon?
@@twolala1 i did it myself 🤦🏾♀️ :/
Wow, this is actually the first time air drying your hair? Now I know why hair UA-cam's don't retain length fast despite their routines and multiple product haul. I started relaxed hair journey 5 years ago after watching you guys and several others and I've only blow dried my hair twice. My hair is on my tailbone. And funny thing is, my routine is simple with very few products. Can we learn to leave our hair Alone to do its job
By the way i love your channel coz of your personalities.
Yes!! My first time since getting it relaxed. I think my mom use to airdry before we had a relaxer when we were little. That's awesome you were able to grow your hair that long!
do you protective style?
Great video
Thank you!!
@@twolala1 Your welcome
I haven't been using heat to dry my hair for a long time (my hair is natural), because it attacks the hair fibre, making the hair dry and brittle. Air-drying is the most respectful and gentle way to dry hair. I have never understood why most girls who relax their hair use heat to straighten it even more, knowing that straightening destroys the di-sulphide bonds that bind the cystine chains together and give the hair its original curl. Adding more heat damages it even more, I really don't understand why straightening and systematically using heat behind (???).
Yea I like my hair straight because it's easier to manage and I don't have to wash and shampoo as much, but if I can find a way to get it straight with as less direct heat as possible, then I'm all for it. I only use heat once a month so I'm not too worried about heat damage, but I see wha you're saying :)
👍🏾👋🏽. Thank you for visiting my channel
Because I do flat iron my relaxed hair after washing it....i always air dry
Have you ever done roller sets? I’d love to see your hair with voluminous curls and not bone straight, check out Peggy Pegs roller sets on UA-cam
Yea roller sets are on our radar too! We'll go check her out! Thanks!
I AIR DRY EVERY TIME. I PREPOO/CONDITION/SHAMPOO MY HAIR.... WHICH IS #EVERY WEEK ...IT MAKES IT THICKER AND FULLER!!!!!!
Nice! Now that I know I can do it, I'll be doing it alot more..maybe a few tweaks here and there :)
@@twolala1 👍🤗👍
I Just finished Preepoo/conditioning/shampooing my hair n Air Drying...I Don't add products While Airdrying because it Weighs my hair Down n take longer to Dry...
This time I Waited TWO weeks..
@@KM-oy5yh Yea I wasn't a fan of loading on alot of products on my hair while it was still wet.
The instrumental while you're air drying sounds like "Cry me a River"
Do you relax your own hair?
Beryl Robinson oh no.we would be bald..lol we go to the salon
