This album finally grew on me. It took until they broke up to realize that this album was definitely the best thew ever produced. They finally found their true sound, and it was with Spencer doing all the vocals. He definitely has one of the best all around voices I've ever heard. Thanks for everything Underoath, you really are the best.
So follow me to the empty ocean We can watch the city Do you sit behind the skylight It happens? We float away and forget About the way you used to be Tonight I fail but never wanting To let you drown without me Tonight we are the only ones To watch it fall apart We sat into our place Where I can watch you swim Don't forget my hands Still wrapped around your neck We fall deeper into the ground This night has never looked so hollow I wanted to share this with you I'll wait till it opens up again Sit here till the water reaches our necks Finally get to watch them Wash away the night Open your lungs Follow me down I said this up Keep swimming Oh God, I am emptier than you
Talk a bout leaving on a high note. All of the final three albums are superb and they proved with 'disambiguation' that it was possible for Underoath to make a great album without Aaron. Awesome band, also huge respect to them for not going the commercial route after the (relatively) commercial sounding 'They're only chasing safety.'
Currently my favorite song. I love this dude's voice. It's kinda different but absolutely perfect for this song. When I first heard it I thought it was underoath's lead singer with a retainer or something. 30 seconds into the vocal part of the song- yeah right. (probably all of you would never make that mistake, but cut me some slack I'm new to underoath, and for that matter I'm new to screamo.....so instead of calling me stupid could u guys tell me of some songs like this.....I'm lovin this an
Very appropriate name for Underoath's final song, and a great song period. I would have liked to hear at least one more album with Spencer doing all the vocals though.
Actually the drummer said in an interview that his inspiration for this album was the deftones. It does have a lot of influence from deftones and tool. The deftones are good, but I prefer this album to anything they've done.
@swimmerzo Try some Thursday! They're from NJ and not really screamo but they fall really good into the Post-Hardcore scene. Trust me, you'll enjoy them :D
I was really hoping the lyrics for this album would evolve frokm LITSOS. After hearing two albums about Spencer's drug addiction (Although DTGL didn't overdo it), I really don't care anymore.
This is one of my very favorite albums, but man, you can't just say "better." Like it's cool if you like it better, but musically Circa Survive's composition is pretty uniquely intricate, and this definitely isn't trying to be that, and isn't that. Yes there are similarities, especially in Paper lung, but don't just say better, because as far as composition, it's not true.

they ended on the highest note possible and im proud to be a loyal fan for many years now.
Are you still a fan, if so, you’re a legend
I love this song and this band.
So follow me to the empty ocean
We can watch the city
Do you sit behind the skylight
It happens?
We float away and forget
About the way you used to be
Tonight I fail but never wanting
To let you drown without me
Tonight we are the only ones
To watch it fall apart
We sat into our place
Where I can watch you swim
Don't forget my hands
Still wrapped around your neck
We fall deeper into the ground
This night has never looked so hollow
I wanted to share this with you
I'll wait till it opens up again
Sit here till the water reaches our necks
Finally get to watch them
Wash away the night
Open your lungs
Follow me down
I said this up
Keep swimming
Oh God, I am emptier than you
nice try lmao
Definitely one of their most underrated songs

There coming back baby! Woohoo!!
+AquaAnim They're
This is one of the most creative lyric videos I've seen on UA-cam, and the song actually has good quality! Awesome job.
This is really inspiring. 2:32 ~ Heaviest breakdown I'VE heard in a long while, and it doesn't have one palm mute. Also, dat bass!
Minute long ring out is eargasmic. Love it.

2:30 to 3:07 is just so fucking raw
Finally understand how awesome this is!
Excellent!

What an end! I need to go buy this album now!!!
don't know why but this remindes me of the deftones... and both bands are awesome :D
@swimmerzo "emergency broadcast: the end it near" listen now and love it! LOL
@ivanhel I wouldn't consider them clean. I think they're very dirty. I love it.

That would be awesome if Aaron sang it! :D
Meaning of the song...?
No idea bro. He may be saying "oh god! I'm emptier than you" in exclamation talking to someone else
1 person who disliked this song is not In Completion
I didn't understand "Oh, God I'm emptier than you"
