I visited Korea in January. Strangely, I didn’t buy any skincare products or cosmetics. Usually most tourists will make a bee line to these stores with a prepared list of what to buy. For me, I walked into Olive & Young at Myeondong, made one round on both levels and was out of the store in 15mins. My hubby was flabbergasted! 😂 I told him I’m happy buying these stuff online and have them shipped to me from Korea without having to lug them home risking having excess baggage. Also I actually save more with online platform discount vouchers after comparing the net prices with the physical stores in Korea. 😅😂😅

It is very obvious torriden is doing a major marketing push these last couple of months and I simply don’t trust all the good things I hear. Not because I think they are bad and don’t work but this is a line based purely on the most mundane and boring humectant hyaluronic acid- which is in every single product on the market anyway. This isn’t a star ingredient by any means and this huge marketing push all just seems so sketchy. I bet torriden is just your run of the mill line compared to other lines that use a more robust ingredients list instead of focusing on the unimportant hyaluronic acid. Clearly they are paying for influence but being a Korean brand and not American are the American socials making sure all “paid promotions” are mentioned? It doesn’t feel like it. I always side eye any influencers that are not North American because it’s too easy to hide paid promotions. Not even nessisarily “hide” but know they won’t get in trouble because they are in asia pushing videos in English to North America - can they get in trouble even? I’m not talking about this video but the sum of all the videos I’ve seen. Why are so called “skin ingredient” savvy influencers SO excited about this CLEARLY boring, run of the mill ingredient lists on torriden products? 10 years ago when HA was a new and exciting ingredient not in everything already I could see influencers genuinely being excited over hyaluronic acid heavy ingredient lists but NOW? Waaaaay better companies with more robust ingredients yet influencers are excited about hyaluronic acid? This is why the influencer business is going defunct. We know all of you see this ingredient list and yawn- but your videos lie 🤷🏼♀️
It's very easy to see if someone has a paid promotion by looking at their description. I've not seen a single influencer that does skin care or make up in Korea and not have some kind of notice of it being a paid promotion or not somewhere on their video.
I also think some people do not need a lot of ingredients in their skincare, they may have very sensitive skin that reacts badly to a lot of ingredients in skincare that is coming out lately.
Torriden is a brand that I would recommend to people who suffer a lot of dehydration with their skin. It's important to know what your skin neeeds. Not every brand is going to be right for you and that's fine. I wouldn't say that because it doesn't fit what you want from a product that it's instantly "boring". Sometimes simplicity is best for your skin. Also, try considering the fact that Korea is very hot and humid these days and people don't want products with a bunch of heavy ingredients.
Honestly I didnt get the hype either but bought the dive in cream and its honestly amazingly light and hydrating! I apply a bit extra at night as a sleeping pack and it makes my skin so soft!!
You know i totally understand you are saying. I had that too on the beginning but there torriden soothing cream became my favorite this summer and toner was the perfect that hrydstion what i need past winter. I hated the sunscreen.

I understand where you’re coming from but 1) I have stated that this video is sponsored by Torriden in the description box 2) I know so many people find hyaluronic acid serums really boring which is fine, but I have stated numerous times in my videos in the past that I personally find them really great and so please don’t accuse me of lying when you don’t know me 3) I know that the ingredient list is pretty simple and while I also really love products with a more intricate ingredient list, I think there’s a place for every product especially when my skin is feeling extra sensitive or if it’s not in its best condition, I do reach out for the simple ingredients because I know that it’s not gonna cause too much complications (not to say that intricate ingredient list based products are aggressive)
