Put it on top of the hood like a Land Rover. Lol. One day, when Im done adapting a roof rack on my 1st genner, Ill put the spare in the roof basket and put a secondary gas tank where the spare tire was. Simple is always better!
I love the set up. I didn't think a 33 would fit in my Leer Cap (never bothered to measure it). Now I know that when I do finally make the leap I can get a spare at least mounted in the bed if it doesn't fit where the spare normally fits. Thanks Dude!
No lift yet for me but have seen many comments and videos of 33's in factory location. Slight bend of a couple of centering brackets and it ends up close to exhaust which probably needs to be cut off anyway for offroading.
@@davidholmes4976 I appreciate the heads up! 99% of the off roaing I do is on the beaches of NJ, so I don't need 33s, but anything larger than stock looks better
@@Tacomaholic those tire gates are pretty awesome looking and high dollar! I was talking about the bed mount for tires, looks like it uses the factory bed rails on the Tacoma to secure the mount.
@@Tacomaholic I have that bumper and I do like it. The balance of having that massive spare between the axles I think is much better for off-roading, but I wheel with a full family, and I can't lose that much cargo space
What size lift are you running with on your truck? I’m looking to add a 2-3” lift to my 2014 trd off road. For more ground clearance when I go rock crawling. Thx!
Do you think this would crack the composite of your truck bed? I seen some stories of peoples beds cracking on tacomaworld. This is something I wanna do but just wanna know your input!
Adding more weight is going to add more strain on the bed. I have the bed stiffeners which are supposed to help alot and I don't do anything high speed offroad where the weight is going to shift more.
Because it would be a pain in the ass to get it up there, be a pain in the ass to get it down from there, and the weight that high would raise the center of gravity.
@@Tacomaholic not by much that tire is around 78lbs and the rim is about 18. So it’s a matter of a 100lbs up there. Waaaay lighter than rtts and other shut ppl put up there.

do you think that a 35's spare mounted like that on the bed will clear the kb voodoo full height bed rack that you used to ran?

Great now it looks like a farm truck🤔... time to get a swing arm for the rear bumper 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Swingout sounds great but everyone I know who has one doesn't like it. Hard pass for me.

@@edgarmoreno3748 Lol I'm not leaving the tire on the truck all the time.
Perfect timing since I'm going camping next week. The same exact spare wheel, tire and sizes too lol

Looks awesome. Way better than a swingout and having all that weight hanging off the back end.
Tacomaholic your truck is just freakin sick mann.🤟 I love it!
Thanks Jack!
I really like your organization.
Always a good vid. Love my tacoma brotha
Have you had any problems or worries that the bed rail will crack from the spare?
Well done. The locks on the Rotopax fail when you need them. I went to hardened security chains for my gear
Did you lubricate your regularly?
Not bad...not bad at all.
@tacomaholic look up wilco offroad they make a lockable vertical tire mount
I would love to grab one of the vertical tire gates ... but Wilco thinks they are made of gold and sells them for something like $1500. Yikes!
@@Tacomaholic those tire gates are pretty awesome looking and high dollar! I was talking about the bed mount for tires, looks like it uses the factory bed rails on the Tacoma to secure the mount.
HA!!! I KNEW IT!! I knew you were thinking of 37s!!! we are all crazy!!! Also, DONT YOU WHEEL?? with a guy who makes a swingout?? bumper??
Lol of course 37s are on my mind ... but not anytime soon. And yes I wheel with the owner of Mobtown Offroad, but a swingout just isn't for me.

It's a 4" lift. 3" suspension + 1" body
Good Day. Can you please tell me where did you get your tailgate cover? I have 2013 TRD SPORT 4X4 DOUBLE CAB with the 6ft bed.

Random question... Do you have your swaybar off?
Yessir. Had it off for years now.
@@Tacomaholic Other than more body roll is it safe at like 80+ speeds?
@@MeezyYota94 Not having the sway bar on makes the truck more likely to tip in the event of a high speed sudden maneuver

Nope. My Tacoma is priceless.

Sounds like a good option but everyone I know who had that setup ended up hating it and moving to something else.
