[Update 3] - This is now Fixed in EU, leading to the assumption it was an unintended bug. Changed ingame assets is still kinda sus imo.

WEW got a bit scared not gonna lie lol. btw it caused a spike on token prices on NA, I was 265k last night and it went well over 310k as this morning
Just a bug, more like they want to see how you react to a future change.
their approach is rather silly, saying it's some sort of a bug WHEN all the text is changed everywhere. They deleted the convert into blizzard balance thing everywhere :d
These changes are now live on NA :(. I hope this is not indented as WOW tokens to Battlenet balance is how I pay for expansions (beside game time). Customer Support 'claims' this is a big, but we shall see.
This issue appears to be fixed on NA now as the option to redeem for Blizzard Balance is back. Let's hope this was indeed a glitch and not an accidental early release of a forthcoming change.
as someone who spend 40 million gold to get everything in heroes of the storm, im sad about this, as it will prevent others from having the same kind of fun i had doing this :(
what kinda sucks is that it hasn't been announced and NA/OCE could still convert into balance, i farmed my a$$ off to get enough to buy the expansion and now it's over
Just checking on Oceanic and if it is "a bug" then why does it state in the shop that you can redeem it for game time, no mention of balance use. To be fair atm there is a notification when u log on that a bug was reported about this and they are looking into it. Sucks for buying the next expansion but I don't so it does not affect me. I have not purchased a token to check if it is further mentioned. imho it was a future implementation that went "live" before the announcement and gives us fair warning for those depending on gold to buy War Within. I am not opposed to cash required for buying a new expansion and gold used for subscription (ie free games until the latest expansion, and free Classic) especially if they add the free mounts, pets, transmorg from the shop. The game has been excellent and is taking steps to improve, I don't mind buying a new expansion every 18/24 months to sustain it. How long can a shop stay in business if all their customers buy with tokens for freebies?

Tokens were 250k 2 weeks ago. I should have went ahead and bought several tokens.

Pity it seems to be a bug, would lower token price significantly if intended since you could not buy Hearthstone packs by botting WoW
Too bad.. maybe I'll play some classic still. I lost interest in retail anyway since DF.
It wouldn't surprise me if Microsoft phased out the WoW Token and made gold like Linden Dollars in Second Life by establishing a similar exchange.. I can totally see them taking a commission off the transactions. An enormous economy has developed in WoW and they are going to capitalize on it. If gamers thought BoBby Kotick was bad do you really think Microsoft is going to be any less greedy?
Death by a million cuts. There are a million little tiny cuts that blizzard has done to me since WoD. I don't want to give them a dollar. Not a dollar since 2017.
