Nautel transmitters from 1981 are still doing full time duty in many parts of the world. Truly the best quality money can buy. Also Nautel customer service is amazing.
Great interview, the Nautel output is from FET's and therefore produces beautiful sound. So do tubes in a well maintained transmitter. The Nautel is less expensive to operate, less electricity consumed, and generally less expensive to maintain. This is a beautiful transmitter building and very clean, something transmitters appreciate. 🙂
I don’t get why people keep saying the engineer was pissed he seemed perfectly fine and was going with it. That or you guys have never known an engineers personality 😅 looks like he enjoyed it
@@planetzlive I think you are right. I was only 8-9 years old when it happened. I remember WRAL being on channel 40 for several months after it happened until the tower was fixed. It too is off of 70 in the same area if it's the one I'm thinking about.
Hay Chris that engineer seems a bit annoyed by you
agreed
@@richardweirick751 No wonder, the interviewer acts like a jerk.

"Hopefully you're coming back down the same way you are going up." Now that's funny!

The engineer was very pissed and annoyed. They’re not used to dealing with people and basic questions though, makes sense now.
Why is HD radio's audio compressed?
?
I would like to buy one of those spikey flower things for static dissipation. But just cant find them online, What are they actually called?
LOL....I think you know!
Despite the class idiot interviewing Einstein vibe, this was actually pretty interesting. That's an impressive bit of infrastructure.

The Nautel NV 40 or any other Nautel Transmitter deserves recognition as being light years ahead of their time.
