    Great review! Like some of the others have said, she is predominantly a pop singer but she has several hidden gems, "Costume Makes the Clown", "Animal City" etc. then Spanish songs like "Inevitable" (She has a live English version with Melissa Etheridge), "Se quiere, se mata", "Que vuelvas" so many!

    You should react to Back in Black and Dude Looks like a Lady, she sang with Aerosmith. She's a pop singer but she started as a rock artist, she's an amazing song writer. Her best rock songs in English are The Costume makes the Clown, Don't Bother, How do you do (which speaks about God), The One, Hey you. In Spanish she has way more.

    the lyrics = about a person “always to high” always sm*king “grass”, always to high to talk to be on a relationship, a person with problems with Dr*gs. Poem to a Horse was written by her and dedicated to someone she lost to the influence of drugs.

    You should react to the "Antologia" video from El Dorado World Tour. That song is a hymn to first love and is one of the most famous Shakira songs in Spanish. The song is from 1995 and it was a success in Latin America in 97. We can see the people who were children at that time crying when listening to this song live. It is incredible to see so many people crying. Link: ua-cam.com/video/nQOIU6QmpCI/v-deo.html

    She's a sell-out... from Rock that is.
    Not that there's anything wrong with that. 🤷🏽‍♂️

  • @VladimirChupin
    @VladimirChupin 4 роки тому +1

    Nooooo... I wonder how people can go and watch it... I would fall asleep in ten minutes... maybe even five. Something very generic she is singing. It's smooth, but absolutely without anything to catch attention.
    I actually went and watched the original, thinking maybe the better sound quality would open this song for me. Nope, that does not change it much.
    That's why my reaction channel is not a true reaction channel - I don't take any recommendations 😂 Because if I would react to what people recommend, I'm afraid in 90% of cases I would be *very* critical. And that would not be fair. I see that people in the audience actually sing along with Shakira, which means they know this song by heart. For me, that is beyond the limits of my ability to understand.
    It's not that I like only heavy music, far from it. But there must be something in the music which catches attention. Like, recently we were discussing with a fellow Maidiac his own music, which is a recorder supported by an acoustic guitar. He said, probably I will not like it, because it's pretty far from the BAND-MAID style. In response, I said that I actually love a lot of lighter music, like MINMI, for instance. Something like the "Song of Four Seasons" from the famous anime Samurai Champlu: ua-cam.com/video/UQbcyOxqDFw/v-deo.html That's a slow song, but oh man, so catchy, addictive like a drug... The way she weaves the melody around, is amazing. That's the talented singer...

      The more you think you know. The less you know.
      Nothing that exists in this world physically. Will survive. So why attach yourslef to liking certain things?
      You only bring resistance.
      There's no such thing as perfection. Or true talent. Who are you to say what's right and wrong? That only limits you and the rest of the people.
      The sounds and true talents you like Wil be gone just like this sounds. You can keep on criticizing people around the world. But can you criticize yourself?

    • @VladimirChupin
      @VladimirChupin 4 роки тому

      @@LG141602 It's not attachment. Music is actually a discource, and it's no wonder that certain themes are interesting for some people, and not interesting for the others.
      That's why I always wonder about the reactors who actually invite people to request certain musical reactions. And in most cases these reactors will have to be positive in the end, otherwise the requestors will be unhappy.
      Of course, there is a lot of good music, and I like to think that I can distinguish good music from bad one. But I also constantly observe that my verdict differs from what other people feel. People take a certain music very close to their heart, they learn the lyrics, sing along at a concert, with tears in their eyes, and for me that music is something really boring. And for those people the music which brings tears to my eyes, is frightening, rough, and disgusting. How can that be? But that just shows how different we all are.

    • @joseperez2719
      @joseperez2719 4 роки тому +1

      The good part is that you can live in your own bubble of "good" and "meaningful" music and save the superiority feeling judging other's taste in whatever aspect of life. All that being said in music I prefer to think there's no good or bad music just different tastes.

    • @VladimirChupin
      @VladimirChupin 4 роки тому

      @@joseperez2719 Exactly so. I also came to that conclusion. We are really different in that respect. Our "common humanity" goes only that far. But that's actually the beauty of us all. If we all would be the same, that would be boring indeed. Baha'i Faith says, we are like flowers in one garden:
      ++++++++++
      So it is with humanity. It is made up of many races, and its peoples are of different colour, white, black, yellow, brown and red -- but they all come from the same God, and all are servants to Him. This diversity among the children of men has unhappily not the same effect as it has among the vegetable creation, where the spirit shown is more harmonious. Among men exists the diversity of animosity, and it is this that causes war and hatred among the different nations of the world.
      Differences which are only those of blood also cause them to destroy and kill one another. Alas! that this should still be so. Let us look rather at the beauty in diversity, the beauty of harmony, and learn a lesson from the vegetable creation. If you beheld a garden in which all the plants were the same as to form, colour and perfume, it would not seem beautiful to you at all, but, rather, monotonous and dull. The garden which is pleasing to the eye and which makes the heart glad, is the garden in which are growing side by side flowers of every hue, form and perfume, and the joyous contrast of colour is what makes for charm and beauty. So is it with trees. An orchard full of fruit trees is a delight; so is a plantation planted with many species of shrubs. It is just the diversity and variety that constitutes its charm; each flower, each tree, each fruit, beside being beautiful in itself, brings out by contrast the qualities of the others, and shows to advantage the special loveliness of each and all.
      Thus should it be among the children of men! The diversity in the human family should be the cause of love and harmony, as it is in music where many different notes blend together in the making of a perfect chord. If you meet those of different race and colour from yourself, do not mistrust them and withdraw yourself into your shell of conventionality, but rather be glad and show them kindness. Think of them as different coloured roses growing in the beautiful garden of humanity, and rejoice to be among them.
      (Abdu'l-Baha, Paris Talks, p. 52)
