- Island of the Apocalypse, of bare rocks and bays, crowned by the grey crenellated walls of a huge, grim monastery. Patmos has 37 monks besides 2000 inhabitants, 600 chapels, and a 100.000 tourists in summer… Still ancient Patmos weathers the onslaught of tourism in many unique ways. The monks, all 'local boys', who watch their parents till the soil and brothers sail the seas, carefully guard the integrity of their island and its community, from behind the great cloister walls. As if standing on the bridge of a ship, steering it through the tempest of time.

Thank you for this most beautiful collection of Divine and Heart felt experiences. Such a gift to see the Monastery where Saint John The Theologian had such close contact with The Blessed Trinity and wrote His Divine Words regarding the Apocalypse . I could never dream of visiting Patmos, especially in these times, so the Blessing of this Presentation is so very much appreciated. What an exceptional place Patmos is. I really enjoyed hearing that families are together there and to witness the ordination of the Priest. My Heart is so filled with Love and Gratitude. Truly Christ is Risen!!!

Why that cave ?? There was many caves back in ancient times . Plus if this was the cave you will feel God presence 🙏 in a special way even headings will happen . People would come out the cave very different. Something GREAT AND POWERFUL HAPPEN IN THE CAVE JOHN WAS .

I doubt it very much. The pope will not want to give up his infallible title. It will need a micracle for it happen.
70 AD It is not a title but a grace God gave to the successors of St. Peter, who was chosen by Christ to be the final authority amoung the Apostles. There are times when someone has to make the final decision reguarding faith, and morals; such as in Acts and the debate about the Judaizers.
J wouldn't. Jesus left Orthodoxy as the right way to him. Catholics have chosen to go on a different path and that's why they are heretics.

I did some researches and I notice that the reasons of the division between the two Churches were more political than theological. Nowadays there are no more conflict to keep this separation. It's just a question of will.
Some Christian Churches are united with the Roman Catholic Church (the Maronite Church, the Chaldean Church, etc...).
I hope that the meeting between the Pope Francis and The Patriach Kyrill is the beginning of the process of the union between the differents Churches.
We have to pray for that happen....
At least all the Christians we can be friends and love each other . I can't accept any hate between us , it's horrible and antichristian. Especially we as Greekorthodox and you as Romancatholics we have 99% same dogmas and our differences are more cultural than religious . It's true that History has some dark pages at 1054 AD , 1204 AD ( catastrophe of Constantinople by the Crusaders ) , Unia , anathemas and schism . BUT the christian unity must be our comon dream and goal .

Why do none of the women cover their heads in church? What's the point of keeping the memory of the apostles alive if you're just going to ignore their teachings? Women shouldn't even be allowed to visit men's monasteries... I don't get it.

Both of you are wrong on the monastery part, where does it say in the canons and Church Tradition that women are absolutely forbidden from every men's monastery? There are some monasteries in which that is the case (and vice versa with certain women's monasteries), same with Mount Athos, but that's not an absolute rule. You do realize that many Saints had women whom they counseled personally at the monasteries, right? I'm not disagreeing about the head coverings by the way but being legalistic about it won't help anyone.
