In my country I can find decent curry paste (judging from the listed ingredients), but you have to go to an asian supermarket where 99% of the customers are asian, where few white people tread, because Uncle Roger is right that the regular white people supermarkets don't have anything else then western changed fake curry paste.

I found the curry roux cubes a bit salty and contains too much thickener. When I cook down the meat and veg into a stew, it's already thick enough. So adding curry powder, like S&B curry powder or Garam Masala can make a nice curry without adding extra salt and thickeners.
