I am not a genetic person, but opal to me is a washed down color that looks lighter than the base color of blue and red together, lol. There are videos that explain it better.
@@tdxshobbies123 now see I got a bird that I was told was opal but to me it resembles a stencil or a type of grizzle with the grey and white but has the iridescent neck feathers that change from the green to purple (if you know what I'm tryn to say). He's mated to a ash red hen....
@Derrick Robinson Nice! Sounds like a white checker, and yes, some opal like the dominant opal bird can look like a lace pattern. Hope that bird breeds you some goodies.
